Now that's strange, Remington are commonly awful, especially their .22lr, but I have used Remington HMR a few times and found them ok, and a pall won't use anything else. These days I have to say the vast majority I use are Hornady V-Max. I'm not sure who makes HMR these days, a few years ago CCI made them for just about everyone except Winchester, and there was a time Federal made their own!

I am 200+ split cases with Hornady, I used to keep them until the increasing numbers bored me. I thought I read somewhere recently they had got over the split case issue (something to do with case material tweaking) anyway, are these new or old cartridges?

It can be a useful calibre, seems to have rather fallen out of favour over the years, don't hear much about the 17 Hornet now either, has that drifted away?

It must have been interesting trying to explain that to the car Insurance company!

It does make you wonder sometimes, our job can be difficult but often you simply need to be observant!

Traps and shooting if you can, squirrels can often be persuaded into traps quite easily! Shouldn't' take long to sort that out!

Where do people dig these up from??????!!!

Amazing what you can do with a bit of Dulux!

Mine has Duracell's in at the moment but it does say you can also run it from a 5vDC supply, (4 x AA batteries should be 6V). I will be giving the rechargeable batteries a try, they tend to be in the order if 1.2v each so a hint under the 5v it can be run with, worth a try, who knows what will happen!

Here you go... its at the bottom on the unit (What looks like a little black line on the picture) and is the push in type.....push for in and it locks, push again and it springs out. Its still a bit fiddly for big fingers! Also a picture from this morning, that's the first of a string of 5, you can just see the tail leaving the frame, the other 4 had nothing, and neither did the video which takes after the pictures. I can drop the pictures down less than a string of 5 but doesn't seem a lot of point so far as wildlife seems to be virtually gone even before the first image is take

Here you go, a quick update, it is cheap and cheerful, picture quality is poor, but still much better than the images you see in the Big Cat Sighting thread. Delay from activation to first picture seems an eternity, with several animals almost out of frame before first picture. Situation and circumstances will change a lot so this may improve. No long term review available yet as only had it a few days, and it's not been out in anything but the lightest drizzle so far. I'll keep an eye on it and continue tests, but not rushing to buy any more at the moment.

I was going to keep this quiet due to embarrassment and the laughter it prompted from those I have told, but seeing as this incident is remarkably similar to at least two others experiences, here we go. Are you sitting comfortably? Last August I was on one of my regular farms, I straddled a barbed wire fence (my normal route) holding the fence down with some pressure, I lost my balance, my rifle slipped on the strap over my shoulder, I grabbed for that and the barbed wire sprung straight up into my crutch like a bow string. A barb must have been pointing directly upwards as I was sp

I am having a revamp of my website and I need a picture of a wild boar. It must be alive, and best part of full screen, so it needs to be close, NO young in picture. I don't get that many myself and my pictures are all fairly distant or when it's deceased. It doesn't matter where in the world the picture was taken, but the UK would be ideal. Can anyone help me with an original picture and their consent for me to use it please. Many thanks!

So, what could the black cat above be, a domestic/feral throwback?? It's certainly NOT, the BIG cat people are looking for. And what is that wording about, why did he regret shooting it, if he pulled the trigger he did it for a reason, he is a keeper allegedly, why was it disposed of at the wish of the owner, keepers don't go rushing to owners, they get on with the job, again, an article that simply doesn't add up! Plenty of cat variations out there and things happen when you mix up breeds, actually they happen sometimes when you don't mix up breeds. So, any suggestions what

This is all part of the risk averse, LAZY, and covering my arse culture we live in today, when it all goes wrong people love to wave a piece of paper and say, NOT MY FAULT, I'VE DONE MY JOB! My medical report for FAC was £50 about 14 months ago!!!!

Yep, that's what I've done...1 on order, if it's ok, maybe a couple more!

Thanks for everyones input on Trail Cams, I've just ordered one like I posted. I'll stick with one for the time being and see what it's like when it arrives before investing in more! Cheers

Help me out guys, this seems to be the thread for all things shooting these days, TRAIL CAMS!!!! I need one, actually probably 2 or 3, for a site full of ramblers, Tree huggers, idiots etc., etc., and the chances of damage/theft is pretty high. I was wondering about investing in these, they are really cheap. Does anyone have any experience whatsoever of these EXACT cams, good or bad please??? Any other suggestions of a really cheap cam as it may not last long?? Many thanks! 12MP HD 1080P Hunting Trail Camera Nature Wildlife Scouting Cam Night Vision 714131840885 |
