  1. Not familiar with these either, not sure I've ever seen one...... Dare I ask, what is the attraction?????????
  2. I've never had any doubt he is "guilty". Wouldn't you given the chance looking at pictures back then....... not sure about now though! Anyway, the whole situation is fascinating, it's great media stuff, she/he will probably make a lot more money with the film rights as well when its all over! There's a lot of mileage in this yet!!!
  3. Depending on your perception an awful lot of newer/top end PCP, look tactical!?!?! Is it tactical, or is it simply design development????????????? There has been talk of banning Tactical look guns for several years, but I have no idea how it could be defined! A lot of rimfire guns are also made to look Tactical/Military these days, even to the extent of oversize magazines to enhance the look, that concerns me more than Air rifles because they are deliberately made to look like some sort of Arnold Schwarzenegger or Rambo tool.
  4. I agree, I would have thought a device such as this should be waterproof, I would naturally have thought it was! In honesty I find that rather disappointing/strange as well! I wonder what the costs would be of waterproofing it at manufacture and if sales would increase if they did???
  5. Another FAC or SGC owner is always a good idea, obviously the Police can't argue they aren't of good character. Your boss at work ,etc.!!! Apparently 7 Police regions are NOT issuing NEW grants at the moment according to the BASC so keep your fingers crossed!
  6. I'd be very pleased of the Beaver of Bolton gamekeeper tweed vest/gilet it’s 44” ( large ) The hole isn't an issue at all for me, MANY THANKS!
  7. I used my mouth/hands/grass for years with good success, then I was out on one site, freezing cold and sheltering from the atrocious weather in an abandoned shipping container. I tried calling but my throat/lips were that cold and my fingers freezing I simply couldn't call, so decided to invest in one of these. That must have been over 10 years ago and it's still going strong, still call by hand/mouth a lot just the same, but overall I'm happy with success rate. I don't feel I'm missing out over the apparent abundance of various electronic calls in the market today, but pe
  8. 12 missing!!! I thought it was us southerners who were meant to be soft tarts!
  9. Now and again at Bisley, I don't have the right tools but a few of the guys have Winchesters and similar so we have a pop now and again. My eyes are not really up to the open sights these days so I would struggle to get your result!
  10. Yep, 9 years, nearly 10 years on! Seems to have been a few ancient threads regenerated recently!
  11. We've all done it...tomorrow is another day! (I've given up with the coloured filters, been using the clear/white for donkeys years now, seem to work fine, although the dimmer is useful, but then, so is night vision!)
  12. Hope it's a good one for all and the BIG CAT debate is resolved!
  13. That could be the answer!!! I had this issue when I was doing some work on my Deben lamps and battery connections, seems only Deben sell the same fittings, I found some close (as in this thread) and ended up rewiring the whole thing, bit of a pain really!
  14. Exactly what I was going to say!!! Scale wise that isn't even close to a BIG cat!
  15. More years back than I can remember the Government was paying for them. I have no contacts for sales these days but I believe the fishing industry (fly fishing) has a small demand.
  16. I believe a serious potential issue is that at the time, the age of consent in the state it happened was 18!!! So, if he had admitted it he would be in real deep do do!! Consent age varies between 16-18 throughout the US I believe!
  17. I see them here from time to time, very rare, but usually around this time of year, only ever seen them singly, always blokes, never a girl! Not seen it again since that sighting a few days back!
  18. Crumbs, I really didn't expect that (but I'm not sure why). If the reports are all correct it seems likely she will be locked up for the rest of her life!!! But, could a deal be done for evidence against Andrew etc?????
  19. Yep, I noticed some of the other HMR ammo was even more than the Hornady V-Max. It is more than a bit unfortunate as I find the HMR very useful, but at least I pretty exclusively use the V-Max. Everything goes up, and I'm trying to remember what I was paying in the early days, simply don't recall, but it was certainly under £10 x 50 (but not that much less I don't think), that would have been about 15 years back when I got my first HMR, how does that compare with inflation generally????
  20. A quick look around the net shows prices around £15- £18 per 50 for Hornady V-Max (even though several show out of stock), so up to 36p a pop, no denying that's getting up there!!
  21. ...the odd one turns up most years around this time, yesterday morning just after 08.00 this fellow was strolling around my front lawn, were it not for the fact my daughter etc were staying it would have been lunch!!! Pics taken through my front window!
  22. Absolutely, he's doing a Megan Markle...oh that slipped my mind!
  23. There are shortages of various types of ammo currently, been the same for months. I've had issues getting the .223 I want, and certainly round this way HMR is thin on the ground!
  24. It's only a few hours away and I have a hectic schedule today/tomorrow so I thought I'd wish you all a Happy Christmas now. ??
