  1. Prices can be easily found all over the web and on Guntrader.co.uk. I have a T3 Lite Stainless in .223, a T3 Hunter in .243 and a 700SPS Stainless in .308...they are ALL capable of half inch groups with the right factory ammo. Given the option of the two guns you list, I would not buy another T3 Lite, I'd get a 700 SPS. The Lite shoots very well but the balance is a pain in the arse!! I was out with Mr L last Sunday ammo testing and zeroing and put 3 of his home brew .223 55g ballistic tips in virtually the same hole at 100 yards....he took a picture...I'll see if he can put it up!!
  2. I don't lamp with the shotgun. Moderated rifles ONLY for me and any guests after dark...my rules!!! Each to their own!!
  3. Fundamentally it's just the same as your ball landing in your neighbours garden. Just because it is your ball you have no right to enter your neighbours to collect it without permission. You commit the act of trespass if you do, trespass is basically a civil matter but is also potentially very complicated, and is different in the various countries of Great Britain!! Best answer in this situation is, avoid conflict with the neighbour!!
  4. Stick almost anything you like on a .22lr but, .17HMR is a pain in the arse moderator wise.....the only thing any good is £300 worth of centrefire mod...that being the case you might just as well hang on to your money and simply buy an innexpensive SAK.
  5. Most have them zeroed with subs at 50-60 yards as said, but the simple fact is zero as well as you can shoot it, and at a distance that best suits your land!! Subs tend to fly at a very similar speed, and many are 40g so there is little or nothing to chose between any of them by way of an arc, but each barrel will have a favourite round and some are just more accurate, more consistantly, than others!!
  6. The 17g ballistic tips do tend to fragment, if you hit a small bunny with a body shot you will probably destroy it so nothing left to eat. Without doubt headshots are the way to go with HMR if you want food, and as said, with a bit of practice 100 yard headshots should become quite easy. It is accurate and flat in the right conditions.
  7. .17HMR is a necked down .22WMR .17MachII is a necked down .22lr In general round figures a Mach II is 500ft sec slower than HMR and 100ft lb less!!
  8. The Welsh Assembly is responsible for the Welsh General Licence and it is different to the English one (a bit)...I think BASC lists the Welsh GL.. worth a look on their website!! Natural England is responsible for the English GL, DEFRA no longer issues them!
  9. You can't, unless you want to get one custom made, CZ do not make a 10 shot HMR or WMR mag!! 10 shot only available for .22lr/17mk II.... No need to shout..TURN OFF the caps lock....
  10. Andy Allwood.......... http://www.tfsa.co.uk/AMMUNITION%20PAGE.htm He will be at the Phoenix at Bisley from 22-24 May as well if it helps.
  11. I don't have a rangefinder myself but often make use of them when I'm out with others who do have them...they are very useful whether it be Air Rifle range of long centrefire shots...even if it is only to confirm your own estimate!!! All the bucks must be my way at the moment FD, I'm up on you so far, which is a bit of a surprise as you are normally way ahead of me on the deer front!! ATB

    starlings?

Call them what you like they have been off the General Licence in England for a few years now. God knows why, they are a pain in the backside round my area!!!
  13. As said my Tikka .243 Hunter is very partial to the 90g SP PRVI more than that, they expand well and seem to hit the deer hard!!! ...and as the barrels come out of the same factory as the Sako there is certainly hope!! ...and yes to everyone..they can still be found for under £50 for 100, and the brass is great for reloading I'm told!!
  14. ...and the cartridge pressure varies in the military (nato) rounds and civilian rounds..... if the gun has a .223 chamber or .308 or 7.62 or 5.56 then feed it that....the chamber does NOT say .308 OR 7.62 it says one or the other, the cartridge itself does not say .308 or 7.62, it says one or the other now why would that be????
  15. I wouldn't bother..expensive for a .22lr and much less accurate than subs, tend to pass right through too often as well and expand little..if you can hit anything with them...if you want a hard hitting .22lr get a WMR and leave the lr to subs!! PS... and they are f*****g noisy as well, and cycled badly in my CZ bolt action, so heaven help you with a semi!!

  17. With care and maintenance and love and a bit of luck, a semi can be very nearly as accurate as a bolt....for the purpose of bunny bashing the difference is hardly worth talking about. Problem is, almost everything else with a semi. They can be great fun and possibly best viewed in this way, I don't have one, but I've used several, mainly 10-22 but I have thought about getting one..the Magtech appeals at around £140 but the trigger is absolute garbage and apparently NOT adjustable
  18. Magnification is a strange old thing and everyone has their preferences......I run 6x for almost everything, even to and past 200yards...sometimes crank it up to 8 or 10 to look around. Last trip to Bisley at 200 yards I was on 6x and shooter next to me was on 24x...whatever floats your boat!!
  19. Good to see you guys again and hope you enjoyed the day ... ............600 yards next month ...bit of a stretch for the rimfires but all the centrefires can still do the business on the range at this distance..... thwack!! PS... If memory serves me right you guys let go with the .17HMR, .223 and .308

  21. Internal lens arrangement is/was different, minimum focus different..the Gold Crown used to be 20metres MINIMUM focus...not sure if it still is...in brief.. the mountmaster designed for air rifle..the Gold isn't!!
  22. These scopes are VERY cheap in almost every respect, if you get lucky you will be lucky!
  23. A little optimistic perhaps as Roe is still not even down to the .22 centrefires in England/Wales. Even the Muntjac/CWD still need 1000ft lb .22cf 50g Expanding MINIMUM, so a 245ft lb .17HMR does seem rather short of the mark. BUT...I agree the HMR does have a place, and on a still day when you know what you are doing you can't miss at 150 yards, but I still see it as a rabbit tool, not happy with it for fox, even though mine is conditioned for fox and I have taken several with it, minus points are ammo cost and noise. Mine seems to have been performing brilliantly recently, but I
