  1. Shorts or longs with a HP....they usually come in between about 25 and 40ft lb but I haven't had any for years...I'd use my FAC, PCP Falcon with the sound mod for this sort of work!! The longs will cycle easier than shorts but probably still a pain...and none of them are that easy to find these days!!!
  2. The majority of .22lr can handle, longs, shorts, caps and shotshells...magazine loading is often a pain!! So lots of options!!
  3. Forget both and go for a .243! You can mix up all sorts of loads for this and it is Deer legal. .308 for Roe????? You can make some hot/light loads in .243 for bunny and fox and some hard hitters for the deer!!!
  4. That is a seriously bad batch, that crap should not be there on the front of the pellet...take them back!!!
  5. CCI subs always chamber tight in my Silhouette but they do shoot ok. You will probably find Eley the best but also probably the most expensive, I have shot loads of different stuff through mine. All I would say is try a few, I use mine as a subsonic tool almost exclusively now and use Magtech 40g HP. Very similar to Winchester, a massive HP and very effective, plenty good enough for bunny bashing. Tried loads of fast stuff in the past and Remington Yellow Jacket HP worked pretty well, I think they were around 32g can't remember, 1500ft sec. Never did find a fast load as accurate a
  6. There is a bucket load to read here, sorry, but I would implore you to read and respond to help promote the future of shooting in the UK!! Cheers National Rifle Association British Shooting Amazed at Illogical LOCOG/ODA Woolwich Decision for 2012 Shooting Venue Dear Members, The NRA has worked hard with its sister organisations on the issue of bringing the Olympics to Bisley. We are now in a position where we know that the Olympic Authorities appear to have adopted an anywhere but Bisley policy to ensure the sport gets no legacy out o
  7. Great Skills..you have my admiration!!
  8. A new rudder should solve the problem but the foresail looks a bit small as well
  9. Yes to the first part and almost any moderator will fit, they are standard cut .5inch UNF. I have a SAK on mine, plenty good enough!
  10. Yep..I would tend to agree with that...BUT I was getting 1.5"-2" groups at 200 yards just chucking the 40g down the range, I'm sure I and the gun could have done better. So the bullet must have been flying well and not ripped apart...sort of what I don't quite understand!! ...and if I'm totally honest the worst group (although still good) was with the 75g heads!! Not what I would have expected all round!!
  11. With any gun it's a pain in the a**e, but with a 12ft lb air rifle it is likely to effect shot placement as well.
  12. Almost any manufacturers 17g, but not produced the same accuracy with any of the 20g I have tried.
  13. Difficult one and you will get a lot of conflicting views...although you don't seem to have any yet...!!! A number of manufacturers are now delivering 16" barrels (arguably because many .22lr ar 1-16 twist so you get a complete revolution). Not entirely sure how that holds up, my .22WMR is 14.5 inches (it had been chopped before I got it) and I have heard of 12" .22lr. If yours is 21" then 16" takes 5" off that...a big chunk, seems an idea! Accuracy wise there will again be a debate, but in principle the shorter the barrel the less accurate, but with a .22lr going from 21" to 16" is
  14. Get the Black & Decker out and pop down the market to get one of those really long drill bits...shouldn't cost too much to bore that barrel out to 22-250
  15. Spent a chunk of yesterday at Bisley and Mr Logic had kindly made up a load of different .223 specials for me to try. 2 different 40g loads, 50g, 68g and 75g...yep...a bit of a session...anyway I am seriously impressed how well my T3 Lite handled ALL of this.....Every shot was centered, just higher or lower (200yard Short Siberia) and groupings of each were excellent. I have just had the barrel chopped by Neil Mckillop and it is now 18" and has a Predator 8 Compact on the end. No sight adjustment was made for any loads and the results only showed approximately a 6" spread (up and down o
  16. Mine has never extracted well but is now doing my head (.223 T3Lite stainless), at Bisley yesterday and perhaps 1 in 10 came out...sounds just like you..extracting fine but simply not ejecting...can you keep me up to speed with the results...cheers
  17. Few will complain about their CZ and I use 90g Softpoint almost exclusively in my T3 Hunter .243...the Deer go down, they don't go for a walk afterwards!!
  18. I have 2 x T3, one in .223 and one in .243...I now also have a Rem 700SPS in .308...the Rem is performing well and I'm happy...so I would be happy to suggest a Rem!
  19. I see nothing wrong with .308 for deer/fox. With the right bullets, excellent all rounder. Chap..each to their own, and I feel you have an interesting choice of words....excellent all rounder is not quite how I would describe the .308!! ATB!!
  20. I have T3 Lite in .223 and T3 Hunter in .243 and Remington 700SPS Stainless in .308. Choice is yours but I see little or no place for a .308 for fox, so if you want a deer/fox gun get a .243!! Kick on the Remington is excellent for a .308..it is well balanced and has the new butt pad, doesn't feel like a .308 at all. I like Tikka but would NEVER buy another Lite..the balance is crap...TOP Class on the Hunter though! So far happy well happy with the Remington!
  21. Whilst I concede my Oplilock have not let me down, after buying a set for my .223 I would never buy another set, they are seriously over priced and over rated!!!... £23 worth of Sportsmatch on my .243 Hunter are equally as good!!http://www.sportsmatch-uk.com/specification.html
  22. If you can get close enough to hit them over the head with it, should be fine!!
  23. I've not found a decent mod for a .17HMR, I have the Sako, SAK, Sirocco, and used the DM80, Hog and Whisper...there is nothing to tell between any of them...NONE are much good, but the SAK is just as good as any..and about the cheapest!!! Works very well on the .22lr with subs too!!
  24. My lad has a Gamo Shadow RSV, budget rifle, serves a purpose, but if you ever get it higher than 10.5ft lb let me know how!!
