I like to think I'm pretty good at most Pest control issues, but after many years I'm still far from the best at moles. 2 of my guys are superb, one with any trap you like, but favours tunnel traps, and one with the gas, so in most situations I give them the jobs. I still get a buzz out of catching them myself, but never that quick! ATB!

Just remembered another form the good ol days. Fresh baked unsliced crusty bread, lashings of butter with fresh banana slices, and sugar, superb!
-
I'm sure that will perform well, but it looks rather heavy for me. ATB!

:la One of my favourites is peanut butter and mayo, is that the posh version! I used to have Mayo but we run out so I progressed to salad cream as we had plenty of that knocking around lol When I was a student I lived on chips with Salad Cream at the student refectory. For some reason they charged for the ketchup even then, but the salad cream was free! Of course that's another excellent sandwich, chips with whatever sauce takes your fancy!

Just noticed on MSN that we are NET contributors to the tune of £24,000,000 per day. That is £8,760,000,000 per year. So, just what do we get for our money?

Crumbs, good luck for recovery!

I'm sure they will!

If you need more than the 2+1 then that sound sensible, Loooooong extension tubes holding loads of cartridges can significantly effect weight/balance!

No doubt there will be screams from the Rag Tops to tighten Gun Laws again! http://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/uknews/revealed-why-eccentric-parish-council-chairman-collected-enough-weapons-to-start-a-small-war/ar-BBpHjF4?li=BBoPRmx&ocid=mailsignoutmd

If you mean my 391 I think they are in the range £500-£900...mine would be more of course! Mine is the Gold model!

Most Accurate 'out The Box' .22 ??
Deker replied to dommorris92's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I will second that, mine is incredible, and of course is .177 So, the THL massive have decided a .22 PCP Multi shot should be a .177 springer single shot! -
If we are wondering about a bit now how about a used Beretta 391, I've just got mine out for the first time in about a year, dusted it off and it still looks like new, must be close to 15 years old now. Just off to a job this afternoon that requires its services with some quite heavy loads. I note there is a good selection in the price range the OP suggests. It has had a lot of use historically, on clays and skeet and DTL, as well as field, but been a bit quiet for a while now. Edit Just noticed on the pics the assorted white flecks you can see are from the sheepskin i

Most Accurate 'out The Box' .22 ??
Deker replied to dommorris92's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I think that may be for another thread, I seem to recall the parameters were PCP and multi shot! -
I can't wait to get out, I have never heard a compelling reason to stay in.

What's The Difference Between A Dog And A Fox?
Deker replied to PeskyWabbits's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
My money would be on fox, but I'm not entirely convinced. -
Don't the .20 or .25 work then? The .25 in 12 ft lb is virtually useless, except many rate it as a superb ratter.

Apart from the fact that the Hatasn has been out for at least 5 years  I still have issues with Hatsan shotguns, but their air rifles aren't bad, can it really be HW have noticed!
-
Remington CBee and CCI Quiet are similar, worth a box to try if you are after a proper .22lr but reduced velocity/energy.
-
Thanks everyone, its hard work getting info on these. Cheers

Bigad As #12 above! I think you are getting way too wrapped up in this accuracy, home brew/factory ammo business. You are not going to find any significant difference in either rifle, there is nothing wrong with Tikka or Howa accuracy. You are not talking target work here; in the field does it really matter if you get 0.5" or 0.6" groups? You get one chance for most shots, you don't get the privilege of various sighters at a fixed immovable point where you can weigh up windage, drop, etc. For most people in the field, field craft and being able to read distance and the el

You will have to apply in the normal way, who knows what the region may do, but I suspect it may take a little longer than usual, you will have to convince them you have good reason for every calibre/rifle you want to borrow, and they will very likely want a word with whoever you plan to borrow rifles from.
-
There is no reason why you can't apply for an FAC and list his rifles (as long as he consents). You will need to show good reason for all you apply for. There are issues borrowing if you don't have a FAC and that is a tiny bit grey, but you certainly can't just borrow one and walk off without him. From 2015 Home Office Guide Borrowed rifles on private premises 6.21 Section 16(1) of the 1988 Act enables a person over the age of seventeen to borrow a rifle from the occupier of private premises and to use it on those premises in the presence of either the occupier or their servant

Personally, buy the Tikka, and then save up and reload when you have a few more pennies. I have .223 and .243 in Tikka, and fortunately both mine do plenty well enough in the field with PRVI ammo. Home loads are clover leaf at distance and pretty much same hole at 100.

Semis can be a bit marmite, I love my 391 and would use it for everything given the chance (I hate the cleaning of the gas system) but others can't get hold of semis, especially if they have a history of SBS/OU whatever. I know you said new, but to be honest if its your first semi I'd get something second hand that feels comfortable, probably under budget. You will learn a lot from it and if Semis are the way forward for you, then trade it, by then you will then know yourself exactly what you want in your next!
