  1. Hi. Welcome to this site. It's nice to have visitors from across the pond. That's a nice little rifle . Please don't sell off the Lyman sight. It is part of the antique package. If you can shoot groups like that with crap bulk ammo. Then just think what it could do with something decent run through it. Some like Eley Tenex , Lapua R50 or R100. Question..... why would A friend on another sight recommended you to look up the model number for the rear sight as it may be worth some money....? It's an antique package. It shoots great. What would you put on it in place of this custom made
  2. I'd rather have a warm sausage roll. Would they know any basic questions. ? AND would they understand any answers. Don't forget to ask plod what his collar number is. A : I don't actually believe that plod exist. Well not in Kent anyway. We couldn't even get them to come out when a building was broken into and thousands of pounds worth of equipment was stolen. They just issued a crime number. B : when .... I have encountered a plod they honestly haven't known the difference between the blunt end and the pointy end. C : totally unprofessional. The mak
  3. Well everyone is going to pig out on the food today, but whose out with the dog and gun tomorrow? Or is it a case of covid gets the better. I don't know of any shoots tomorrow and my friends informal fun clay shoot has been postponed for the time being until the vaccine has been issued down to us lower ranks. People seem to be being more careful now in this second wave than the first. A lot more cases seem to be closer to home than the first wave and people seem to be a lot more careful. Sort of well now there is a vaccine, I don't want to keel over a few days before they get the jab. Pe
  4. Wishing everyone a happy Christmas day. It's been a difficult year. Brexit, covid, ect, ect. Thoughts of all those who unfortunately haven't made it with us. cheers to all those who are stuck in a lorry queue waiting to get on a ferry back to their home and families all across Europe. Cheers to all the poor blighters whose lives have been turned upside down by events this last year. Health, happiness and freedom to us all.
  5. Well I don't know. Surely there is a president in that you were following their published guidelines. I'd give them an e-mail advising them of this fact. After all they do have to follow rules and they can only say no, so try it on. Push the limits to make them know we are still here.
  6. Yep. It's so dry and .... aghhh. We used to-do the Turkey thing but now we have smaller joints of beef, lamb, gammon and chicken. everyone gets what they want and we're not eating the same stuff for a week and then down to Turkey bloody curry or into the dog. we cooked a BIG gammon joint today. This was got in thinking we would have some family here over Christmas but that's changed so were here on our own so it's gammon for the next week. Still we like it so there's no problem with that.
  7. A bloke I worked with used to have to go out in the garden for a smoke cos his Mrs moaned about the smell of smoke. He said that his neighbour used to sit and watch porn with a beer in one hand and his tool in the other. He didn't pull the curtains and didn't give a flying F. The Workmate used to stand out in his garden and buddy watch the show with a fag in his hand.
  8. Nothing is black and white. Yes some people are light fingered whatever race or creed. The vast majority of these drivers are honest, hard working and did high level jobs in their country before coming here to do deliveries. I asked one who was Bulgarian what he did back home. He said that he had been a police sargent for over ten years in Bulgaria and that the pay here was three times what he earnt back there. I wouldn't want to be a delivery driver here with the pressure and hours. A thief is a thief. what with all the lorry drivers at Dover trying to get back home for Christmas, there's
  9. yeah, but it looks like he's filming his cctv monitor with his phone because it is all over the place. the cctv monitor view is stable. I just looked back and saw that he had the dog back about two secs after I posted. a lot of dogs just disappear.!!
  10. That was the worst bit of videoing I've ever seen. He was filming all over the place. Has he got the dog back?
  11. I don't know about subnorms, it's just substandard. And the worst bit about it is that no one seems to give a "flying f about it" and those in power don't get called to account. The so called voices for our sport / discipline haven't got a clue and get run ragged by a sub such as kwis.
  12. Right: It came back. But it's come back written incorrectly.!!! They've sorted out the stuff that was on the ticket that I didn't have.!! AND they've put the stuff on there that I did have. BUT they've now put the wrong caliber type for a weapon that I did ask for. I tell you. You could teach monkeys to issue tickets better than this. I don't know if I've got the will to fight it back through the system to correct it. or say " sod it", and buy a 20mm cannon instead of an air rifle. It's that bad. Ps. A friend had to send his ticket back 3 times to get his ticket sorted. Perha
  13. I remember when I was about 19 An ole boy in his eighties telling me >>> " It'll suck you further than gunpowder will blow you boy".! ?. I was quite happy to be sucked in. ???. Oh to be 19 again. I hope that you've been cheering him on with calls of, go on my son.
  14. They made stuff well then. Age shall not weary it and at the going down of the sun the cartridges will still take on the flight
  15. Er Daffodils are straining at the leash and some are already up about 3.1/2 inches. I don't know if they will withstand any hard weather or frosts. we very rarely get any snow and if we do it is mainly gone by lunchtime. Sometimes I've known shirtsleeve days in January. On the 19th Feb 2019 we were having a bit of a friends informal clay shoot and it was so hot the lads were there in shooting in T shirts and vests. Roll on global warming. I'll have to slip out and chuck a few car tyres on the fire. ?
  16. A good flight. The 28 is good. We shoot ours early afternoon, feed the shallows and let them come back in to feed at dusk. We shoot it every week. we chuck the rabbit paunch in the shallows also. They seem to like all that sort of stuff. Anyway they keep coming back. PS. someones got a bit of plucking to do.!
  17. Club. I haven't got a ladder long enough to get above the cloud base. I've got a good pair of Leicas but even they can't cut a hole through the cloud. Still weather woman says the clouds are going to clear on Christmas eve.. Ps. I've lost track of what day it is led alone what's happening in space. I'll get her to remind me to get and have a look.
  18. One minor issue....... it's thrashing down outside and you wouldn't see an airliners lights at 100 yards. Everytime there is an event to look at. It is always cloudy.
  19. Yeah we got pegged by a couple who recommended we go look at jw.org suddenly we twigged .!!!!! Jovas. AGHHHHHA. !!! Nutters the lot of them. Still there has been a bit of patterning on the telly.??
  20. Normal isn't in plods vocabulary. They are just using words like ...... covid / Brexit. / to cover the fact that there is no leadership or intent and that most of them are bone idle. it'll make no difference whatever you do. As long as you got it in prior to 8 weeks before expiry date ( which you have ) they can auto extend an extra 8 weeks after under section 28b of the firearms act 1968. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/circular-0142018-limited-extension-of-validity-of-firearm-and-shotgun-certificates/circular-0142018-firearms-limited-extension-of-validity-of-firearm-a
  21. For those that think that it's all a hoax and a conspiracy for some random reason consider this. Most of the hospital's are now 90% full . One of my daughters is a staff nurse working in the NHS concerned with the care of end of life cases over a range of conditions. She's seen a lot of lives go and saved a few. She's seen it all but Yesterday was a bad day for her. A young woman with a five year old child died in the arms of her husband from covid. A very tragic case. He's lost his wife and the little girl has no mother. Because they have been exposed to the virus they can't go to or ge
  22. WHUMPH. They look a good product. It don't matter how old the spinner is, It still does the job it was made for. And the people who have used it over the years and the stories and events of the cartridges that it has finished.
  23. They look weird. The body looks like a Millard duck but the head looks weird. Why would anyone want to use coot decoys anyway.? I think that if I had them I would repaint them as mallard decoys. I wonder why your friend wanted to sell you a load of ...... coot decoys anyway? Perhaps that don't look anything like Coots.
  24. Can't take the things. !! They give me a splitting headache and it keeps tripping me up and digging in the ground.!! I even got asked if I'd got an artificial leg.! ?
  25. They probably will be tough as ole boots. I've shot Canada's out of the tail end of a skein and they've been inedible and ended up as dog meat. One of my neighbours is a bloody know it all nuisance but I don't go out and blow him away because I could. I would imagine someone in the hoof & hound division would like them as guard geese. Or even a note on the local neighbourhood community web page. If you splog them you still got to dispose of them. How many are there.?
