The problem is China. They forced the price down on everything so quality suffered. One of the son in laws used to fly out a lot to Hong Cong and cities in mainland China. There were sort of mega stores out there that sold everything from buttons to boats and cars. He used to buy wellies out there that you couldn't tell the difference between the top priced boots down to the make label. He is a real negotiator, he is like a pig in Shiite when he's negotiating. He used to buy boots out there for seven or eight quid and bring them back here. And they were bloody good to. We just get ripp

All of the boots nowadays either seem to be steel toe and insole which makes them like divers boots or they split somewhere. They aint cheap at all. In the past I've had wellies that have been light, warm and have lasted several years and have only succumbed to brambles cutting through the top of the foot as a result of beating. Some boots are now only lasting a few months if your lucky.

Nigel Farage endorsing Tony Blair for government role
Meece replied to Accip74's topic in General Talk
It must be fake news .!! Not Nige Perhaps Nige was lining b liar up for the new role of 5th under lavatory attendant in the commons. In the season of goodwill to all men. Part time though mind. Or on a zero hour jobby. Everyone has got to be adaptable in these covid times. -
I know how you feel. I was a Windows 3.1.1 user and I skipped 95...97....2000,. ...millennium and second edition and went on to XP. I had a good system and had a rebuild to a high performance level. I did all of the updated until there was no on going support and it was difficult to operate with new updates of programs. At this time I had two laptops. One was on 7 pro and the other on 7. One of these I updated to 10 when it became available. I didn't like working with Windows on 10 and went out and bought a complete new system of Mac. I was like you, up to the axles in mystery. It too

Another random who floated past with a passing fad who dissapeared into the cloud, Never to darken our door again. Does anyone actually decoy coots. To make it financially viable to produce coot decoys?? Even though they look more like a mallard.

Why do the shooting public insist on making up more rules than there already are. ? Even if you have rung plod up about going out night shooting and some clown rings them up, they still come out. They have to log it as a response. They can't be seen to have ignored a call that something is going on and just think that it's Fred out rabbit shooting when it is Bill out, shooting sheep. It's a total waste of time but if you think that your doing your civic duty well there you go. When they come out, which is highly unlikely; they don't know anything about a call that you've made and just beca

Dolly Parton - Jolene (33rpm slowed down digital version)
Meece replied to PLEDGEY's topic in General Talk
it's a fake. everything is fake. The women background singers still sound like high female voices so how does dollies sound like a bloke.? -
Blimey, their going down like flies.! you lot are quicker than a speeding bullet. It was only on 5 news minute ago.!
-
What sort of gun/calibre are you intending to shoot at the ranges you state and what sort of quarry / target.

It's pretty disgraceful really that king Nige hasn't been issued. Basically if it wasn't for Nige, Brexit wouldn't have happened And the royal succession would probably been rubbed out by the bureaucrats in Brussels. You'd think that queeny would issue like they did back in the days of Francis Drake.

Strikes me back to the 7 o'clock news on Radio 4 the day after the referendum. And I said to the Mrs... " Bloody hell we've only gone and done it" !!!! and all the agro and votes in parliament. And the traitorous b*****ds like b.lair and major and bercow and the turncoats and all the mp's that tried to form spin off parties but who all got chopped at the election. The worthless libs and the traitorous Scots. Oh and don't forget the bloke that kept hollering out outside parliament every night and the bias of the bbc. There should be a lot hanging off of the railing outside parliament.

NO. We'll have no canine /dog abuse here. The poor bugger would be found hiding cowered in the corner with ears down flat, mouth tight as a bootlace and it's tail tight between its legs. Shaking like a leaf.

Wow !! We need something like that. The Christmas 4 pounders have been a bit impeded lately. Where do I find a rocket like that.?

What's the time there now. .? It's just after 9pm here in the UK.

It was several years ago now And I can't remember what it was all about but everyone was flooded out and I remember these blokes being in a boat and being disarmed. They were well pissed about it because there was some nice shotguns they had. This was a local thing not a general thing. Everyone was flooded out and there were only a few people left there.

???? in which way? The fact that Ken has a fantasy about knocking the back out of some party or he's succumbed to lock down fever or that little fish finds this a bit offensive and inappropriate or king objects to something about curry or that he's a little fish in a big sea and boys will be boys. On the other hand girls will be $£¥7$

Imagine the carnage if American society broke down and everyone and their dog went looting and killing with the amount of guns and ammo in circulation. I remember a few years ago there were massive floods around New Orleans and the STATE came round and just disarmed the populace. There was a family of father and two sons in a boat and they had taken their guns out of their house to save them from being damaged or stolen from their house. Plod rocks up and just impound all of the guns. I don't think that they had any choice in the matter or any receipt for the guns. I wonder if they got th

That's strange. That a country where there are so many guns that there isn't any ammo available. There's plenty available over here in the uk. Ok my local gunshop might not have thousands on the shelf but even a local predominantly fishing shop has got about three different types on the shelf. Maybe the more exotic target ammo like Eley Tenex or RWS 100 would need to be ordered in, it wouldn't take that long to get. Time more down to the shop having to generate a value of order to get the free postage or else the price would be a lot more per order. I keep a fair amount of reloading comp

Happy Christmas and new year you ole red neck you. That rifle is sweet. It's far to good a rifle for you to keep bashing the barrel around on that brickwork. That rifle groups well and your a good shot with it. When. ...... you get fed up of just plinking about like that at ten yards ect. Raise the height of your bucket rest. Get some subsonic or proper target ammo not bulk or hunting lead, get a plain paper target ( those sort of black and yellow targets splatter all over the place and give a false sense of group ) and plant it out at 50 to start with. Or better still Get a BIG cardboa

I have considered doing a cast of the barrel diameter ;;; e.g. removing a bullet from the case and push / driving it down the bore with a cleaning rod, then accurately measuring The diameter using a micrometer Vernier then machining up a "go, no go gauge" to swage the round down to size or the ones that are small to be found and sorted out. By doing this it would eliminate to some degree the tight ones from the loose ones and in doing so getting some sort of pressure consistency. This might be useless if the powder charge is all over the place but there nothing that you can do about th

From my experience all American .22 rimfire ammunition that I have ever come across is not anywhere near accurate enough for target shooting because it is too fast and variable from shot to shot. I bought a thousand Remington std velocity target ammo. These were so innacurate that I just used them up as barrel warmers. I have had a 500 box of the wildcat but again they were so innacurate that I couldnt guarantee them for rabbit shooting and again I used them up as barrel warmers. There doesn't seem to be any consistency in the velocity. Some flop into the chamber loose and others a

Considering the sums involved you'd think that all the banks would get together and sort this nonsense out. A few of the b*****ds swinging from lamp posts might be a bit of a deterrent. Or cut the foreign aid budget and sub out the poor ole burgers that have been scammed. The governments out there must be involved in it to be able to succeed.

Those that do come will be the upwardly mobile types who will be looking for high level jobs not frying rice or making chop suey.

Years ago there used to be a trigger pressure gauge at the rifle club. Back then the trigger pull for competition rifles was 3.5lb. But I think that was for some sort of service rifle competition shooting. My Anschutz target rifle has a trigger that is sooo light that you just think ...fire. when i first went to the club I used an old club gun with a really heavy trigger. When I bought my Anschutz the trigger was lignt and my scores jumped up 10 points overnight which is a phenomenal difference. Ps. If this rifle was set up for target type shooting ( with those sort of Lyman target
