Give it ago mate its pretty addictive, I started not long ago and although I was trying to snare on shite ground ( grass to high no clear runs etc etc ) its pretty addictive, snared rabbits phesant and a hare since starting and it's a nice skill to have , will be doing plenty more come season , -

Bit blunt but what he said is right you did answer your own question , a puppies dog is not mature enough to be taking fox , and most dog aggressive mouthy lurchers I've seen were dog shite on teethed quarry , him been submissive will not affect his working specific quarry unless he's a nervous wreck , give him time mature and if someone tells you he should be doing teeth by 12 month or 18 month etc etc ain't worth listening to , all dogs diffrnet ans mature difrently

Need cut your self some pegs mate , bout 3ft long out hazel , as thick as your finger will do nothing to thick as when it’s seasoned it’s solid , you have a traditional long net where it is a net with two end pins , you then put a hazel peg every 5 yards , do quick google serch on setting traditional longnet and some pic# and a video of tericil from off this site should come up .

Thats not hard mouthed that's a confidence issue, like hilly said , go back to a soft dummy something that he will pick up and play with , then move on to difremt dummies , I find with spaniels they can get obsessed with dummy types so what I do is buy two of the same type dummys then ad fur , wings , to them at later date , don't use pigeons for training young pups the feathers are enough to put off adult dogs , when the time comes to use a pigeon then put it in a woman tights so the feathers don't come off but all the scent and reel is still there , give the dog a couple days off just have
