  1. Sounds like a brilliant night, well done. Good to hear there are plenty about reading not just your write up but some others on hear as well.
  2. Good luck with your pups. Big bonus of only three pups takes less out of the bitch and should ensure strong pups as plenty of mums milk.
  3. Going to have get some help with all this permission Doug!!! If only you weren't on the other side of the world! Good luck with it, earned through good reputation and hard work.
  4. I have bred the same line of ferrets for generations and tbh due to being busy/lazy the kits don't get that daily attention but I have found they just don't need it. I have never bred from nippy parents and the kits just seem to be naturally very easy to handle, the kits I bred this year haven't so much as nipped me once (going to get bitten now!). Would anyone agree that ferrets can genetically predisposed to be friendly and easy to handle? Or am I just lucky!!! I responses to the original post, at four months a ferrets could definitely draw blood and lock on if it chose to. Good lu
  5. You never know if they were early on they may recover. A lot more are getting it and recovering now or getting a more mild dose. Think positive!!!
  6. Big old moon at the moment and stubble is almost impossible to walk over without making noise, might find on a better night you see a few more...hopefully anyway!
  7. Night hunter whippets (Paul Waddington) has a litter at the moment. His dogs are proven workers and sensibly priced, definitely where I would go if I wanted a whippet puppy.
  8. Fair play, good vid good day. Often there is no better way to get new land than "I've been on your neighbors land and noticed plenty of rabbit damage on your property. Would it be ok to come on yours please?" Works every time.
  9. Good effort getting out in that weather!
  10. Bit of mixi about for sure ATM. Bloody vile disease, hopefully won't hit them to hard before the season gets under way properly.
  11. Perfect for what your going to be using him for. Good luck with the pup
  12. How old are the pups? When my first cross was young he was smooth but got rougher as he got older, if they are only 8 weeks they could end up rough even if they are smooth now.
  13. No eveyones cup of tea (socks!!!) but can't beat a whippet for take off in small fields. They get up to speed faster than any lurcher. Atb
  14. Couldn't read that sh*t. That page is total boll***s, these people need to get a life.
  15. 10 holes is plenty small enough, I am lucky if I ferret anything less than 30 and often 100 plus and my kits tend to just get on with it when entered. If they are decent working stock they will work just give them a bit of time and try multiple holes if need be. Good luck I am sure you will be fine.
  16. Just because he is advertising doesn't mean they are rubbish, me and my mate breed a litter 4 years back for ourselves kept one each but bitch had 9 and after two other mates were sorted we still had 5 to find homes for. I think you go and meet someone see what the set ups like and you can normally judge for yourself if they are bullshitters or not. Good luck with the search lost my beddy/whip earlier this year and it broke my heart was a super ferreting dog and my best mate. Key is always the beddlington not easy but find a proper working beddy and you'll be set.
  17. Lovely gun. I use that myself, couldn't fault it.
