Villaman is the man to respond but from what I know (which is not a lot), you can fit a longer air cylinder and a reg which will take up the shot count but I cannot say how much. The people to contact are Airtech and XTX as they sell both of the above and carry out the work if required although XTX has stopped doing the tuning for the time being. There is also Ratworks who also do BSA tuning. http://www.airtechrifles.co.uk/ https://www.xtxair.com/ http://www.theratworks.co.uk/ Hope that helps Phil

I must admit, the maggie is a nasty bugger and I have noticed that I always get one or two having a look when I am crow decoying but not coming into range. I was toying with buying a maggie decoy to try and get them in close enough to get the shot, worth a punt I think. Phil

You should be well happy with the H&N group Jon, a killing combination I would say mate. Phil

Spring Beach Casting Worthwhile?
philpot replied to Ratsmasher's topic in Fresh & Salt Water Fishing
I take it you fish on the Suffolk coast rather than the Norfolk coast and if so places like Aldeburgh, Sizewell, Thorpeness and Southwold will all produce dabs and whiting at this time of the year. It is likely to still have some cod on the spring run in the area and if that is what you want, the first two above are the best in my experience. Dunwich also produces some cracking fishing near the boats or to the left of the boats. I live in North Lincolnshire but visit Suffolk normally 3 or 4 times a year staying at High Lodge near Darsham and have enjoyed many sea fishing sessions on that -
I have both home build and NiteSite Viper and both give similar performance although to be very honest the NiteSite Viper wins, hands down because of forward weight. It doesn't need any extra IR torch mounting at the front of the scope so far more comfortable to walk around with. If I were looking at a new NV now, I would sell my Viper and buy the NiteSite Viper R-Tec with the NV range finder, superb piece of kit. I had a good look at this set up at the Northern Shooting Show, last week, very impressed and I will get one when the cash flow is a little stronger, spent enough so far this year.

Rez, I have to ask......................................why would you think of Mitch in the shower The better weather is here so he is possibly out on the push bike. Phil

Now this will sound daft but to be honest, I could shoot them but I quite enjoy seeing them come into my garden or sitting on the wall or feeding in the fields over my wall. I watch them and how they go about their approach, always learning and sometimes pop a decoy out to see if they will respond. I have a pheasant that comes in the garden most days and along with both woodies and turtle doves, it just makes a nice picture for me to look out on. I don't need to shoot these local boys and happy to just watch. Phil

I only heard about the reduced fpe in Germany a few months ago, a bit of a bummer as 6fpe is not ideal for hunting so what do the Germans do I wonder. Phil

Those guys who have met Ethan, know this lad is a well rounded shooter and with the training from Jimmy and Sean there is little wonder. When I was talking to him at the Show last weekend, it was not a young kid I spoke to, it was a shooting friend who knew what he was talking about. I have said it before and I will say it again, Ethan is a credit to you Jimmy. I do have to say mind that I have to listen very very very carefully because his accent is really strong and I do struggle to work out what he has just said Phil

My pal has one in 410 version, super handling rifle and light BUT as Jon has said, the stock is not strong and his is also split. Phil

I just don't think to post Rez and I doubt I would have this time if it wasn't for the owls and deer. I hate phone photos and by far prefer to use a good camera which of course I never take shooting.

I can only agree with some of the comments above. If these things were any good, we would all be using them but the reality is that we all use scopes. Look at your budget and find a Hawke scope on the bay and if you are not sure, ask on here as there will always be someone around to offer sound advice and save you time, money and frustration. Phil

Good to have such adjustment in one rifle mate. Did you have any problems with it as I read they've had some problems. Lovely set up. I'd love one but can't afford that sort of coin on an air rifle. Probably a different case all together in the FAC guise. If you have a .22 slot on your ticket could you do a barrel swap or would it have to be a different gun all together. So far Bry, no problems but to be honest most of the issues were sub 12 guns. When you think that most of the production is fac so perhaps the changes needed for the UK cause some areas that gave the problems. Long

Yes it is Bry, .25, 46fpe at full power, reducing to 25fpe at the power dial but it can be tweeked a hell of a lot by using the other adjustment controls and whilst I have not done it, I believe it will go from around 10 - 70fpe Phil

I love that sort of shooting nicely shown in the photo's, well done that man. Phil

I was supposed to be looking after my grandson tonight but things got changed so I decided to have a quick walk around a perm just for the walk more than anything. I popped the NiteSite onto the Impact and headed off to a field that has a large tree in the middle with owls nesting in the box that was sited there a few years ago. Nothing doing so I just sat about 20yds from the tree which gave me a good view all around. The owls were getting ready for their evening foray as I could hear them in the box, the first one came out and dropped very close the ground, first bite, a mouse or vole an

That is a shame Jon but as already said, it sounds like the foxes have a well established food supply. Perhaps you are right mate, it's time to find another perm. Phil

Now almost at the top when to tap 'forum', it caught me out earlier today but nevertheless I like it there. Phil

Not me buddy Phil

Nice shooting but you don't have to win the lottery to stop working......................................just become an old tart like me and retire Phil

Serious session so well done to all......................................Oh for a rookery like that, sheer envy. Phil

Someone is very lucky because it was a gift at that price even being an FAC. Phil

I love that photo, it captures all that is wildfowling, well taken and well shot with the geese. Phil

Just over my garden wall are fields with horses in and the woodies are at times in numbers of 50+ hammering the clover, no further than 25 - 30 mt, in fact clover seems to be a major interest for them at the moment David. Phil
