  1. I must admit Simon that I hoped it would be a distance that was not out of the way for you. Looking at the planner below, it is approx 20 miles / 35mins but perhaps you need to check it out in case I have not got that right. http://www.theaa.com/route-planner/index.jsp#fromNode=0%7CNew%20York,%20Lincoln%20LN4,%20UK%7C%7C-0.137836%7C53.079011%7CtoNode=0%7CDonington%20on%20Bain,%20Louth%20LN11,%20UK%7C%7C-0.146835%7C53.328983 The rule is that the gun has to be open sights, .177 but they have an AA200 and I have an AA200t plus a springer for people to use so really all we need is you mate. I
  2. Ah, now that is interesting Dave because I had never heard of them until I did a little research and found them to be part of the FIAS group and they made the Browning Medalist some years ago. From what I have read, they are a small Italian gunmaker that has been on the go since 1670 just not well known in the export market. I have to be very honest and say that a 28'' gun is not something I like but this little gun although shorter in the stock than I would use, it just felt a nice little number and with external chokes which I far prefer so we will see how she performs over the coming mo
  3. It is just a pity that a few more of you guys don't live a bit closer to come and join in. The next event is 31st May and again 7th June at The Black Horse Inn at Donington on Bain, near Market Rasen, Lincolnshire. 7.30pm kick off. If any of you can get there, it would be great to see you. Phil
  4. The one you mean from CRSUK is very similar to the NiteSite but there is no room to mount one on the Mamba Lite scopes which are on all my guns whereas the NiteSite version has a direct fitment to the screen unit but as you say at a price. Sometimes you have to buy in to the system to get a complete package that works well. David, I am moving away from the Hatsan auto and replacing it with a Sabatti o/u, a quick handling 28'' gun for hide work but I tried it on trap targets yesterday and it worked far better than I expected. It is a cheap little gun that is likely to get a few knocks
  5. I am pretty sure it will not work in the dark Jon because I have seen the same unit being sold just as a range finder for golf..........................we will wait and see. I use the NiteSite screen system Jon and the strap on range finder they make is superb, I had a demo in a darkroom tunnel at the recent show, only 22mts but any slight movement up and down the darkroom showed really well and with a screen NV it is just so easy to see the target and the laser strobe in the screen, just read off the distance right next to the screen, very very impressed but the price....... I am thin
  6. I have sent a message Dave and got an auto answer as they will not be back until Monday so I will keep you posted but I doubt it will work even with an IR illuminator. The other posted by Jon works well but twice the price. Phil
  7. Is it the Royale 400 Ian, looks rather nice. FX all the way in my book. Phil
  8. I bought one of these but from a UK seller about 2.5 years ago, perfect. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Visionking-6x25-Laser-Range-Finder-Golf-Hunting-600m-Measure-Monocular-Telescope-/262993277315?hash=item3d3b9ef183:g:9~AAAOSwvzRX1kfE The NV one that Jon has posted is used by a number of guys on another forum with all saying they are really good and I do believe they can be used in daylight as well. I am thinking of buying one for NV use although I confess that I am impressed with the NiteSite NV range finder but £250 This one has me confused as I am certain it is a daylight onl
  9. FAC air rifles are inaccurate...................................bollocks mate. I have a .22 Rapid fac, 30fpe using 19gr AA Field pellets............................very accurate I have an FX Impact fac, 46fpe using AA Field 25.4gr pellets......................very accurate Don't believe all you see on you tube. Look at 'Ted's holdover' and 'Matt Dubber' on you tube and then tell your mates they are talking sh1te. Phil
  10. If you are serious about having a gun that is above the legal limit of 12fpe, then apply for an FAC ticket. Do not try to get away with having an FAC rated gun without a ticket, a chrono used by most of us and certainly the police will tell with one pellet that you have an FAC gun. If you go down the route of buying an FAC gun without a ticket...............................DON'T tell us on here. Phil
  11. Dave, you need to slow down and put in some full stops, I am out of breath reading your posts matey. Audi RS6................................flash bugger Phil
  12. Gary Wain covered the very first one they ran in Airgun World so I doubt he will do another.
  13. In the sleepy little village of Lissington, Lincolnshire there is a equally sleepy little pub called The White Hart BUT last night it was not sleepy at all as the place was full of bell target shooters. Among the visitors were our own Rez (Jamie) and his much better looking other half Jess (lovely lady), my shooting pal Scott, my youngest daughter Katie and of course me. Also in the throng were the current 1000mt world champion but I cannot remember his name, Gary Wain from Airgun World and Ben Skipper from Country Matters magazine. The event and in fact all the shoots from this series hav
  14. I can only agree with you David. Phil
  15. And that little visit along with 5 rabbits will please the landowner no end. A horse with a broken leg because of a rabbit hole is the greatest fear with horse people. Good visit I would say, well done. Phil
  16. Even worse than the Xmas Air Arms vid. Never go out without my red bandana (if that is how you spell it). Phil
  17. If you go fac, there is a very nice Rapid Mk2 in .177 very near you in the gunshop in South Cave. Phil
  18. There are about 45 pigeon over my garden wall as I am typing this and all on the clover. Phil
  19. 'bigmac 97kt' and 'bling' are not words that go together normally. Perhaps it is the change in direction what with the pink rifle in the not too distant future. Phil
  20. What is the scope Billy ??? Another serious night out as well, the scope clearly works. Phil

Ratting...................................sport of kings, love it. You can keep rabbit shooting, I will have ratting any day. Phil
  22. Totally agree Bry, the blanking plug is a very handy little tool, I leave mine plugged in to the whip so to keep the dirt out as well but not under pressure of course. Phil
  23. Many congratulations Jimmy to you and your family................................a pinky is deffo needed mate. Phil
  24. Villaman is the man to respond but from what I know (which is not a lot), you can fit a longer air cylinder and a reg which will take up the shot count but I cannot say how much. The people to contact are Airtech and XTX as they sell both of the above and carry out the work if required although XTX has stopped doing the tuning for the time being. There is also Ratworks who also do BSA tuning. http://www.airtechrifles.co.uk/ https://www.xtxair.com/ http://www.theratworks.co.uk/ Hope that helps Phil
  25. I must admit, the maggie is a nasty bugger and I have noticed that I always get one or two having a look when I am crow decoying but not coming into range. I was toying with buying a maggie decoy to try and get them in close enough to get the shot, worth a punt I think. Phil
