  1. I went to the Northern Shooting Show on Saturday and saw both the decoys that A1 sell and the first one I listed on the ebay link. To be honest, the A1 decoy looks like a garden ornament and not realistic whatsoever but a large size. The ebay owl looks quite good and the size is decent but neither owls have great colour however the ebay, Jack Pike decoy is the one I am getting from ebay as it was cheaper than at the show. I am tempted to buy the A1 decoy and spray it to a realistic colour which would then be spot on.............................if I can be bothered but if you take that rout
  2. I used to have a Pacific reloader for all my 12 gauge shells many years ago but gave it up when I got involved to competition clay shooting as they were not allowed and to be honest I thought it was a thing of the past for shotgun cartridges. Well after a trip to the Northern Shooting Show on Saturday, I found a stand there by a company called 'Clay & Game' who are a specialist company importing MEC reloaders and supplying all the items needed for reloading. I confess to being both surprised and very interested at the thought of going back into this aspect of cartridge supply now that
  3. A nice read and stunning photo's which I am guessing are not from a phone camera. Phil
  4. Do you find them much lighter than the HW100KT. If you are getting 120 shots per fill in .177, I wonder what the .22 produces. It might make a good NV ratter. Quote:- ' ive fitted a weaver rail on the underside of the forend which takes a torch for lamping and a folding foregrip which doubles as a hamster for shooting HFT with and also makes standers a LOT easier.' Gurtwurz, could you put a link or give details of the folding forend please, that might be very handy for a project I am working on at the moment. Phil
  5. Really nice looking gun Jon. I do have a soft spot for the Ultra and wanted to fit a reg, shroud and slightly longer cylinder along with a tune from one of the clever boys out there but it pushed the overall cost up too much and chopped it in for the Wildcat. Seamaster gave me a tin of Daystate pellets which were JSB Heavies and boy did they group well and on the opposite end AA Express did the same. Hope the gun is a winner for you Jon. Phil
  6. That is a shame Nelly, It is just not right to rip a fellow shooter off but this bloke has. Name and shame so others don't deal with him.......................... Phil
  7. I take it that it is a .22 Phil
  8. There were some discounts but not many and not on most of the guns I saw but there again, I was not really looking at guns to buy, more on the bits and pieces. For example 3 flocked full body crow deeks for £10 and other things of that nature along with clothing. I think if you look hard enough with cash in your pocket, there were some deals to be had but to what degree is debatable. A couple of things I looked but didn't buy are cheaper on ebay as I found this morning so I am pleased I didn't buy them. Phil
  9. Quote:- Isn't it funny how people never look like you expect them to ...... I'm going to be so disappointed if Phil hasn't got a load of war stories from a lifetime of sex, drugs and rock n roll So, far better looking than you thought then Jon............................ 'or not' DS Pulsar Jimmy....................................I must have missed that bit WTF... Phil
  10. Will you stop it, you have only just taken it out of the box Viz !!!!!! Oh yes while I think on, that Dr Bob's mag for my Mk2, I bought it on ebay as they are a bit cheaper than buying from him direct, just a thought. Phil
  11. It not his back, it's his neck, twisting around looking at those women in the tight white trousers......................................or was that me okay it was both of us. Phil
  12. It really great to see Jimmy and Ethan again and finally meet Viz, sorry I missed you Pesky. The three musketeers Viz Mac & Philpot, then I swapped over to let in Little Hunter. Don't know what the hell happened to this second photo, crap photographer. The show was as good as last year with loads to see and a few bits I bought although I have come back with some very interesting ideas for the coming months including A 12 gauge reloading machine. Now at one time I loaded all my own 12 gauge shells and really thought it was a thing of the past but not the case at all and
  13. The ones I used to use many years ago were basic owls of about 14'' tall and worked very well. There are loads available now although most of the true owl decoys are much smaller than the ones I had but are available from many good RFD's or one of the pigeon specialist dealer such as A1 Decoy http://www.a1decoy.co.uk/decoys-12-c.asp ebay is another place to buy them but some I think are little more than garden ornaments so look carefully and decide if you are happy with what is being offered. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Jack-Pyke-Owl-Decoy-Plastic-16-High-Owl-Protection-for-Songbirds

  22. We have two families living in the loft, one we call 'chicken george' because he spends time with the chickens in the farm next door then comes home doing all his / her chicken & rooster impressions, I sit and watch them for ages. They are NOT in decline over here, loads of them. Phil
  23. Shooting inside a pub, a wee touch noisy without one I think. Phil
