  1. I am sure Si would let you have a go with his DT10...........................if he had one, it's me you old tart who has a DT10 and yes of course you can have a play with it. If there was a store for guns at the Northern Shooting Show, I might have taken it up there but not lugging that around all day and don't fancy leaving it in the car because any thief will know the owner won't be back for hours. Perhaps we can work something out. Phil
  2. It was so good Deadeye that you had to tell us three times Pleased it worked out matey. Both HW and Air Arms springers will benefit from a drop in kit along with a bit of polishing, oh my word, that really does make a difference. I must say straight off that I am a total numpty when it comes to working on air rifles but a great fella from here, Charlie Caller did a brilliant job in taming my TX200HC which I could not hit a barn door with but now it is super accurate with less recoil resulting in nice tight groups. Phil
  3. That is much nicer than the one I have seen before. Phil
  4. I had thought of buying a pair of covers, better check the space between the bottle and barrel before splashing the cash then. Phil
  5. Let me know if you go Rez, I might join you. Phil
  6. I bought an April copy of Airgun World today just for a change and one article caught my interest. Many years ago in Birmingham and the Black Country generally they used to use old airguns in the pubs to shoot bell target and hold pub competitions, well there is a chap I know of called Dave Carter who is responsible for creating new shooting clubs in schools, universities etc etc and he has listed a few pubs in Lincolnshire to test the sport with the first pub having a write up in the magazine. If you have not seen this, here is a shortened version. The bell target is set at 6mt in the pub
  7. I think that design is bloody superb Mitch. That is one I will print off for the files of good ideas. Phil
  8. From one clay buster to another, very nice shooting and only wish I could do that. Phil
  9. Nothing short of bloody stunning. phil
  10. Ah okay, it must have just been at that time or was the ghost thread. Thanks boys Phil
  11. I have not had this happen before but a few minutes ago whilst looking in this section, a new thread showed, 'wanted an HW30' so I clicked on it and it threw up a page saying 'do you have permission to view this'. I returned to the threads page and the above thread had gone.....................what is all that about. Phil
  12. Sound thinking Paul, ask to borrow Sean's Nite Site as an alternative, I use mine all the time on the rat perm, bloody brilliant (Mitch won't agree). Phil
  13. I not so sure about the Verminator Nelly, they have some really good reviews but they are not to everyone's taste. I have had a shoot with one and to be very honest it just did not feel nice in the shoulder, the weight is bit weird as well. Jimmy is 100% right regarding the need for a first kill. It is not the guns mate, it is your confidence as you have not quite managed to walk off the perm with a trophy in your hand and that is totally understandable. If you can get on to some ratting, you will suddenly find merit in the guns you have and apart from great sport, you normally get multipl
  14. I can't tell you about the Logun but the wildcat is worth £700-800 and most are nearer to £800. The Wildcat is right up there Nelly, why would you want to swap it for an R10. The R10 regs are not highly rated and many people exchange them for an XTX unit, heavier than the Wildcat, pretty I grant you but I wouldn't swap. If you really want to get rid of the guns, go for Rapid and when you get fed up of that, there will always be someone who will want to buy it. I also agree with 'The One's' comments and is one of the reasons why I have got an FAC ticket even if it doesn't happen for
  15. No not upset Mark, forget it mate. Phil
  16. Just my eyes Rez, need that extra help. Phil
  17. Quote from Mark Phil`s fields, void of anywhere to hide ? Put anything from a vehicle to a tent or hide in the area the rabbits frequent and leave them to get used to it, no threat for a few weeks, then simply go and sit in it with your gun of chosen power. If it was that simple, even with my aging brain, I could have worked that one out myself. This is an exposed area with high winds we get on the east coast, unless a hide was bolted to the ground, it would have gone by the following morning and unless you have a super 4x4 with high ground clearance which I don't, not a cat in hel
  18. Focus ring or better still side focus Rez, your UL is fixed focal length I believe so I cannot see detail clearly at say 25mt which makes it impossible to place the cross hairs exactly where I want them. A side focus allows me bring the target detail super sharp. Phil
  19. Don't need the recticle to be lit when you use a Nitesite Si, it's all on the screen mate including the mildots. Worth a test. Phil
  20. I really fancy the viper connect, it would be perfect for ratting but not designed to take add on nv. Still fancy one though. Phil
  21. I comp!etely agree Mitch however the sport or field Craft is not replaced by power, it is simply an alternative just the same as using live ammo rifles or shotguns. All have a place in the sport of shooting and all will give pleasure of use. As an example, one area on my perm containing rabbits has no hedges, gullies or tree line so unless you want to crawl at least 150mts or get there in daylight a lay for hours and hours, you will not get a shot with 12fpe rifle. The FAC offers an alternative, it is that simple. Horses for courses Phil
  22. Like I said Jon, young eyes but no bloody good for us old tarts with less than good eyes. Phil
