  1. To old and fat to handle the rocks or at least getting on and off the rocks. Love that sort of fishing but sadly in Lincolnshire where I live it is easy fishing out of the car on the sea wall but very boring to catch flounder in the summer and whiting with a few cod in the winter. I love fishing in Anglesey as there are plenty of different varieties of fish, bait or lure, it's all good. Enjoy the time with your son, it is surprising how quickly they grow up and only want girls and booze so make the most of it and take a ladder with you ? Phil
  2. Looks quite handy, well spotted, I might have a go with one of these. Phil
  3. That looks a nice unit ..................very nice. Phil
  4. The first pheasant feeder went out today, about 30mt from one of the squirrel feeders. We have not bothered with feeders before but as there are some changes to some of our perms, we are setting out a number of both squirrel and pheasant feeders on about six sites so we will see how things work out. Phil
  5. Are you mixing the wheat with the nuts Mitch. 300kg, wow that some serious stock. We will be using wheat for the pheasant feeders not the squirrels. Phil
  6. Just been back and picked up two more sacks, well at this price.........................................it would be rude not to ? Phil
  7. I popped into B&M today to pick up my favorite coffee and on a pallet outside were 12.55kg sacks of peanuts (not in their shells) selling at £12.99 per bag which in round figures is £1.00 per kilo whereas the normal price in most suppliers is nearer to £3.00 per kilo. So if you need some serious squirrel fodder, take a look at B&M, unless of course you already pay less than this price in which case just ignore the ramblings of an ole tart ? Phil
  8. I am not a springer man myself but if I were to buy another, I would buy one that could be tuned. I did have an Air Arms TX200 which I was crap with BUT after 'charlie caller' worked his magic I was able to shoot ultra tight groups. I only sold it as it was too heavy for me but I want an HW 57 and tune it or have it tuned I should say then I will have a light rifle without a kick. Just my humble opinion. Good luck in your choice. Phil
  9. Nice going Mark. I have all my perms within 10mins from home and it just makes shooting life easier when perms are close as it seems no effort at all when you just want pop out for an hour. Phil
  10. Possibly a Tasco scope and there are still a few of those kicking around. Phil
  11. oh well, I won't wait in antisipation in that case. Jimmy, do you want some JSB RS to try as well because if I remember correctly, I was going to bring you some to Doncaster but as we didn't meet up, I can send you some. I don't know if they are the same as FAP but I do know that in my old Wildcat .22, the FAP didn't produce good groups but the RS certainly did and I use them in my 110k to good effect so let me know matey. Phil
  12. I saw an episode of 'Ted's holdover' the other day where he had been testing the Hades in his FX rifles which as he is in the US, his rifles are full power and he was saying how the Hades is a game changer producing very good groups. Perhaps the performance is different Jimmy in fac. It's a pity they are not available in .25, I want to see what they are like at fac levels. Phil
  13. I think most of them are in my RFD's shop because he has a load of old crap kicking around in the back. Better not say who that is...........................? Phil
  14. So do I but it reminds me of that bloody awful springer with that survival expert Bear Grylls name spattered over it. Shame............ Phil
  15. Cheers Sean. I will be sending off for a pair in olive or grey. Phil
  16. I think so too Mitch but Sean has bought some and will know what the packaging says with luck. Phil
  17. Sean do you know off hand if the beaver tail forend and vertical grips are the sam for the Tx1 and Tx3 because there seems to be some for sale on ebay around £20 each but not sure if they are the same for both. Phil
  18. I'll jump in on the list too please. Phil
  19. I had the 5-15 and wish to god I had taken it off the rifle before selling it. Phil
  20. Yes, I know where you are coming from there Mitch. Just looking at where to mount my nv range finder on the Tikka. Phil
  21. I believe Phil knows more about them than almost anyone else in the UK according to what I have heard. Phil
  22. When I have had the operation on my eye, perhaps I could also go that route if of course funds allow but that is in the future. Good to know it works in daylight. Roll on the Game Fair next year when I will spend some time on this subject. Sorry Daffy, hijacking your thread a bit here matey. Phil
