Certainly not on the test we did some weeks ago, the .17 was much louder but going that route leaves me without the flexibility of the lr with both sub and HV so the .17 is a non starter at this moment. We were using CCI Stingers which is different to what you use so perhaps there is some sound difference there !! Phil -

The .17hmr is bloody noisy and turns rabbits inside out at less than 120-150mts and I will not be running HV all the time Sean so the .22lr is a better option for me. I have slots for .17hmr and .22wmr on my ticket so in time I may still go for one of them but I doubt it. My pal has the .17hmr and I cannot remember the last time we took it out with us so not high on my agenda mate. Phil -

After staying at home because of the volume of rain and fllod threat, Sunday seemed to see the back of the heavy rain so we went for the last couple of hours to pass on a Sunday afternoon. There were not so many people there but of course they may have left early so plenty of room to look at what I could not afford ?. To be honest we didn't even go to the outside stands as the rain was now now pouring down and I felt sorry for the standholders, the clay pigeon shooting stands were completely empty so again perhaps the shooters entering the competition were either not bothering or they ha -
Welcome aboard Stevo. I know of a couple of dealers who will not sell Daystate because the the company back up (which is often needed). Buy a new Daystate and find a fault within days of purchase and gaystate will say it's your fault........... this perhaps is why many dealers will not have anything to do with the company. I have owned neither of these guns however I will take a wager that the vast majority of shooters will tell you to buy the 510 including me, why .............build quality, simples. Phil

Trigger stick / rifle rest
philpot replied to big napper's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I have the double but very rarely use it. I do find it useful on very cold or windy nights in the winter but not very often, in fact I didn't use it at all last year. Phil -
ah I see Mitch.

Cheers Dave. For the most part, I do not have an issue with screen flare but it would be useful if a dimmer was fitted for those odd occasions. Phil -

I have the NiteSite Wolf and a Viper and rate them. A lot of people don't like them but I find they do the job very well indeed. I just wished I had the R-Tek version where you can dim the screen without dimming the IR but silly money for what extra you get. I think it must be possible to modify the screen by fitting a variable pot but it is over my head, crap with clever stuff like that. Phil -
It sounds somewhat more flash than the holiday we are off on Saturday..........................Suffolk. However staying at 7 times world champion John Bidwell's place, Highlodge. A week clay shooting on one of the best grounds in the country and carp fishing 12' in front of the lodge verander. It doesn't match with Cape Verde but we love it there. Nice shot Dave. Phil

That speaks volumes Jimmy, I don't think I will bother. If I remember, I will put some AA18gr in my pocket for when I see you at the Donny show in just over a week. Remind me mate. Phil -
Well there you go, sooner or later I knew we would get a good feed back regarding Daystate group...................................but not often. Pleased for you Phill. Phil

I am sure most of you are aware of 'Airgun101,com' but if like me, you are not, then take a look. Ted's holdover, Matt Dubber, Giles and loads of others have grouped together to combine resources and have a joint channel. There is plenty of stuff to watch on here guys. Giles with an interesting vid with the .30 FX Crown is worth watching. https://airgun101.com/ Phil

I have tried the 18gr AA field heavy in a couple of fac .22 and to my mind they are as good as it gets but never tried them in sub 12. Phil -
I really rate these ............................................ where are you ? Phil

I am inclined to agree Mitch, other things to spend the pension on anyway. Phil

Welcome aboard FX My reg is set to 140 on my Impact .25 which is the factory setting and I had no reason to 'tune' it but when I see what output Mitch (villaman) has with his Mk2. I do wonder if it is worth sending it off for a tune. The jury is out on that to be honest as I don't have a problem with the performance as it is so why mess with it. ??????? Phil

Forgive my ignorance Dave but why can't you shoot them after dusk, is that the law. Never really wanted to shoot them although we have loads on our perms, perhaps something for the future or perhaps I am to old to start now. Phil
