The $1,000,000 question Rez. NOT Gove, if he gets the job, oh my lord............ Phil
-
Mind you from what I have heard it will take ages to get one as they have been bombarded with requests and are way behind. Yes that guy had already made his mind up, pity he didn't get the bloke with the dog. Phil

I know what you are saying Si but I am not keen on the idea as I would need about 7 and what a load of hassle as well as telling NE or whoever where all my shooting is and I do not trust NE at all with the total cock up they have made, I am not so sure I want to give them very much information. Phil

As I am sure you are aware Deker, I am an FX super fan so my first suggestion would be an FX and it is worth looking for a Royale 400 which don't carry such a high price and certainly very accurate, Ianb on here has one and loves it. As Si has already said the Rapid rifles in fac are superb and again pin accurate with AA Field Heavy pellets. I had one, a tad heavy for me but a cracking gun with a strong following. One thing is for sure, you will pay more for an fac air rifle than for most .22lr rifles even new ones are often cheaper. Phil

Well done Chris and thank you, I'm rubbish at this sort of thing. Phil

A pal of mine sent me an extract from Sporting Gun magazine where they interview Dr Mark Avery of Wild Justice fame. In the interview, MA states that they have made a challenge on the legality of the new GL26, carrion crows, as it refers to culling of carrion crows in relation to the protection of pheasants. The issue is that WJ believe that reared pheasants cannot be regarded as livestock as they are wild birds. I am not going to try to capture the entire article but it made interesting reading. It is very clear from the comments made by Dr Avery that WJ are going to be on the case with

You already have an fac ticket Mitch so if you send in for a variation also send in a letter stating that you get regular requests from landowners / farmers asking for you to do pest control and as you have many years of shooting experience, you request that your ticket could be made open class. I have to say that in my part of the world, the firearms office / licensing are very helpful and reasonable when I contact them on anything. I know some areas are super tough to approach according to the things I have read but it is my belief that if you treat other people as you would like to be

It's funny as I sold my Anschutz .22 rimmy because firstly, I never jelled with it but also I felt there was no point as the Impact did everything I wanted or needed and with the introduction of the .30 slugs proberbly later this year...............................BUT.........................having seen and handled the new Anschutz 1761 I just want one and get to test different types of ammo not just subs. Phil

I think jonjon on here knows this rifle very well if i remember correctly. Phil

Oh really.................... Perhaps a word with Tony at ASI I think. A question Mitch, what is the noise level like on the 700mm barrel, does it have the same empty mod as per the Mk1. Was the reg pressure set at 140 as mine is from the factory and you took it up to 145 or is it set at 145 from the factory. I assume the reg pressure gauge is the same as the original Mitch. Phil
-
You have hit the nail on the head there Mitch. It is most unlikely I will trade my Impact to a Mk2 as I simply couldn't afford to do it but a great move on your part, do it while you can. Phil

Would your rfd keep any guns for you if needed and if he did, is he close enough for it to be practical. Phil

I noticed just how many of these fowl birds were ravishing a hedgerow on one of my perms. I shouted and threw a stick in the general direction so they flew off only to return 15 mins later while I was walking the cattle sheds. NE and the idiots who brought this action have no idea as to the damage being caused with the GL farce. More shooters are conservation minded than the none shooters because they have no idea what the REAL countryside issues are. Now that fool Packham wants to shoot deer to save the nightingale, oh my lord, what planet is he on ???? Phil
-
Good for you NP, only wish my top rat perm was producing but it is not any more so I must find another. Phil

I have said it before and I will say it again.........................................ratting, the sport of kings ? Phil

Welcome aboard matey. Phil -
Yes, sorry I meant to say that. Phil

Just take your time and get good references , two for FAC and one for shotgun. You are a genuine and enthusiastic shooting man as well as someone I am proud to call my friend and hopefully all will go well so that you will get your tickets. You know you can call me whenever if I can be of help mate. On the fac part where it says how much ammo you want to carry, just put N/A as you only want pellets which are not firearms catagories. Mitch has a point regarding making a mistake on the forms but if you have a computer (which you have) and a printer, you can just print them of if

Anyone like to buy a kidney ? Phil

Have you tried the polymag Mitch if so what are they like. Who did you get the pellets from. Phil
-
I hav e just found a brand new 5-15 endurance Si which I told Jimmy about as they are amazing in low light. I remember the one I had from Rob and I could still be using the scope and my mate already on NV. Fantastic scope. Phil
-
oh you tease Mitch but I have a feeling our Jim is not going to pass this by. I must confess that I would love to shoot one as the balance of the one I shouldered was fantastic and the light weight takes you by surprise .................................................... a thing of beauty but mine would be laminate and as I am so careful, it would stay pretty. Phil
-
Ah interesting. They are normally available in both short and longer versions but perhaps not in .25. The link to the special mag is not working Mitch. Phil
-
Good shooting matey and as for Jimmy's next trip down, orange juice or shandy is all you two can have after the last weekend performance...................................................I may have a spare compass though Si which could come in very useful. ? Phil
