Just heard the other day of two chaps who tried the Hades in sub 12 and the they were really pleased with the result. I am going to get some to try in my 110k as an alternative to JSB RS for use on the rats and ferals. Phil

The 22lr will have the potential for ricochet Mitch but thats is where backdrops and safe distance come in to play but don't over think it. I have gone a bought another rimmy simply because most of our perms are on the Lincolshire wolds and prone to winds which at times can be a real pain, the rimmy with hv ammo or subs can give an advantage over the pellet. the other reason is that we have one farmer who is seriously pestered by hares when the sugar beet starts to show and whilst my .25 fac Impact will stop one, I prefer to use the 40gr slug as a better stopper than the 25gr pellet on hares.

Last week we had a sparrow hawk stripped loads of feathers from a pigeon on our lawn, I disturbed it and it flew off but there was no damage that I could see in terms of the hawks attacks just a pile of feathers. Phil

A pair of feinwerkbau's and a unlinked question
philpot replied to dutchjozef's topic in General Airgun Discussion
They are fantastic, I would love one for bell target shooting. Phil -
I know there has been some recent posts on the products available but this is a thread to find companies providing a service. There were loads of companies offering this service but over the years many seem to have dropped away. I am looking for any company you may know of that reblues shotguns please. Phil

Hugget belita mini or swift stumpy
philpot replied to Jake w's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
I agree with Mitch's comments above. I bought a Swift Stumpy for a rifle but dont remember which but they are not bad at all and I did have it on my FX Streamline which was very quiet. I did try it on my HW110k as a test, not as quiet as the HW mod but a good result nevertheless, wish I had not let it go on a rifle I sold. I looked a hugget which was on a BSA R10, pretty poor but there again the BSA mods are garbage anyway so possibly better than the standard mod supplied with the rifle. Phil -
Yes sorry about that, I was going from memory on my pal's unit. Well that is a bonus not that my pal needs any extra light but always good to know. Phil

As I said last night Jimmy, fantastic news and her progress must be amazing for the doctors to be happy for her to return home on Wednesday. Now we can sort the flowers mate. You are going to bring Natalie to the only bloody show that Trish and Myself will not be going to this year, we are booked in for a holiday ? might have to think of driving back but it's a long way to Harrogate from Suffolk hmmmmm Anyway seriously good bit of news my friend. Is this a Baikal a single barrel 12 gauge shotgun, if so they have a kick like a blackpool donkey and I really think you are taking a big risk. Good luck with whatever you decide. Phil

Another very sad story and one which will never go away. Phil

There are very few autos with any type of scope fitting although my Pietta does BUT whilst the Pard are designed to accept the recoil of certain centre fire rifles I doubt that they will cope with a 12 gauge recoil for very long. Phil

Just an update, my pal checked the extra picatiny rail and 008 studs and they were not tight. It is all now tightened up and he is off to the range to set zero this morning. I think without doubt this was the issue, schoolboy error as we thought eachother had tightened the all the fixings Thanks guys Phil
-
Thank you guys, I have passed on all your feedback. I don't know how it could not register the zero Sean because when the cross hairs have been moved to the poi and 'OK' pressed, it is registered/locked in unless I/we have misunderstood the process. It is on a Browning T-bolt .22lr using subs ammo.
-
Hang on boys. This is the standard 008 not lrf or with updated firmware so I thought there was only one zero profile. The zero was set last week and nothing else done to it except to switch it off and remove the battery.
-
A question for my shooting partner. Last week we set zero as a starting point of 25mt, perfect. Today I had a call from my pal saying that it was off zero by approx 3'' soooooo how could this happen. My pal removed the battery when he got home last week from the range and didn't replace it until today, could that have lost zero. Any ideas please guys. Phil

I am very sorry to hear of your grandson's accident BC, a tragic loss and one which will certainly be felt this Christmas. My sincere thoughts to you and yours. Phil

A gun I have not heard of before
philpot replied to philpot's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Due to weather issues this weekend, I didn't bother taking the gun out to test but today, Monday, I popped out with my pal for a walk around one of the perms. Well luck was not on my side with the birds breaking cover from the woods on my pal's side so he picked up a few pigeon and a pheasant but as I really wanted to try different cartridges as the main exorcise, I was still able to sort that out. I tried 30gr, 28gr, 24gr and 21gr and I can tell you that all cycled perfectly well which pleases me greatly as the lighter shells can be used by my daughter on clays. The other aspect was that -
I am pleased you posted this Jimmy because those who didn't know were able to see things were not right so as you have many friends on here, they are able to express their best wishes and without doubt everyone here will be thinking of you and all the family. If Natalie follows after Nicola and you, see will be a strong lady and judging by what I have seen my friend, she has that strength clearly. Best regards Phil

I am not familiar with this scope BUT normally the very edge ring of the eye bell is turned to get the reticle in focus. I have not seen a lock ring at the point of the mag adjustment to control the focus. I am somewhat puzzled.........? Perhaps a call to the manufacturer or importer to download an owners manual / operating info. Phil
