  1. There great Barry, the performance is very good for the money considering a few year back something similar would be double the price.
  2. Standard 30mm mounts should do you, in some cases the the POI is too low and a shim is required in the rear mount, in the form of camera film or metal shim from a can cut. I have one fitted to a cz452 .22 and it's fine without any shims.
  3. are you still selling them Ian? Got some more in as of tomorrow Ant as I'm now a farmer, and have no money/ prices are shit/ dogs broke etc etcCould you put a kit together? Photon+doubler+T whatever IR? And what would it come to ££££ wise? Alright Ant the new Yukon Photon XT 6.5 models incorporate a lock ring in the front objective to prevent people screwing in doubler lens, and removing the lockring will void any warranty. If you want an IR torch, I'd look at something along the lines of the T20/T38, pick one up on ebay for £20-£30 .

  5. are you still selling them Ian? Waiting on some coming in mate.
  6. Hello Jackknife, there pretty good to be honest, I would opt for the Apex XD75 over the XD38 or XD50 , I have one fitted to my HMR and it is totally lethal, no mucking around with IR torches, massive field of view, instantly on target, its good and the 6x mag helps, even if its digital, it helps a lot with longer range shots, everything looks bigger to me anyway compared to using night vision at similar distances. I was watching two roe through it the other night, and they stood out like a sore thumb 300yds away. If you want to take a look at mine, you can I'm away till the end of next wee
  7. Bill for your budget as mentioned , I'd probably go with an Photon XT 6.5 mate.
  8. I've used 55's but if your going to spend your hard earned on any trap it has to be the 116's covers you for everything then. Get them traps dirty Phil !!
  9. You will be much better off using a IR laser rather than a torch with a Gen 1 tubed add on mate.
  10. I had a large thermos flask, I think it was 1.5ltr after a couple of year it didn't maintain the heat for some reason so I bought a smaller 1 ltr thermos and it keeps things piping hot now.
  11. Is the Drone Pro 15x even out yet? Not sure if 15x mag is a good thing to be honest, it will seriously limit your field of view, when trying to get on target. The 10x is ideal, personally with night vision, I'd ditch the idea of using a gun for daytime and night time, its easier to just have a dedicated setup, even if it means buying an additional rifle for daytime. You could use the drone during the day, but personally I wouldn't, I'd prefer looking through day optics, rather than a digital image, even if you do have the colour option with it.
  12. Takes the fun out of it mate shooting bigger numbers like that, by the time you wrap in, its normally when normal people are getting up and once you finish gutting them your backs like a U bend..
  13. Numerous reasons mate, people come and go, people drift into the sport get bored and give up, people get bored or move on in life, have kids etc, then there's peaks and troughs as the season comes and goes, as well as the likes of facebook etc now, but to be fair I wouldn't put anything to do with hunting images on facebook personally, its too open and right in the public eye, the amount of idiots I have seen posting fox cubs lined up dead, foxes with there heads blown apart , theres a line and facebook is not good for showing these type of things at all. We should start getting out more
  14. I agree 100% others are pushing to ban certain traps not based on if there humane or not, but how much money they can gain.
  15. It not uncommon Rob, the decent lads will do the job properly, humanely and discreetly, then you have the muppets who slip loads of dogs on stuff, don't have a clue and leave it where it's dropped, some of the nuggets who have uploaded videos on youtube over the years that I've came across are really bad for the sport.
  16. How to carry them?? Peg snares on your arm, one arm through the snare loops carrying them, the other to set them. use a bit of string or twine to hang them up when storing them, I normally carry them in bundles of 25, take one off set, move on. When not in use or in the motor stored like this, Woodgas shed.
  17. I can remember seeing them at woodga's years ago, I think Glenn had been making them, there just a bigger scale figure 4 rabbit snare tealer.. I made a load but longer than the ones you buy, so you have more adjustment, caught foxes in them but to be honest I prefer a 4mm wire tealer, plastic tube and snare, then my own anchors.. they will all catch in the right place and hands.
  18. I've used both a lot, the Eley group brilliant in my CZ and give much tighter groups than the winchester subs, BUT if chest shooting then winchesters drop the rabbits much better than the eleys due to there bigger hollowpoint and you get a lot less runners.
