  1. Try a 2 or 3 cell 18650 holder, with cells in, the monitors and CCTV cameras can run on a wide voltage range normally from about 5-6v upto 15v, check first though.
  2. I'll be honest MTC scopes are cheap and ok with night vision but at low light and when lamping there rubbish compared to German glass not in the same league.
  3. In all honesty I'd give the ATN x-sight a wide berth as far as night vision goes there pants! Try a Yukon Photon XT they don't have as many gimmicky features but there cheaper and a better night vision device than an x-sight.
  4. Pick and bar visit http://www.ipchicken.com and send me your IP address via PM the firewall might have blocked access for some reason.
  5. Yes there good mate, compared to the equivalent guide models there a league apart. Personally I'd go for the next model up with larger lens the XD38S, like I say give me a shout if you want one and I'll give you a good price.
  6. If your going digital and want a night vision monocular the pulsar x870 with oled display is good, expensive but good, for thermal I'd go for an pulsar xd38s but these are out of the price range you quoted, send me a PM if you want either and I'll give you a good price and beat any others. Avoid the cheaper guide and flir model range under the £3000 price, there not any were as good as the pulsar models. If you want to try any of these models let me know, bit of a run down from scotland mind..
  7. I'd buy it from anywhere apart from Scott Country to be honest, try here http://opticswarehouse.co.uk/product/yukon-photon-xt-6-5x50l-digital-night-vision-riflescope/
  8. Darren I'm using 35gr vmax in mine but when there all used up I may try the 40gr heads, that's a nice tight group there, my friend uses 40gr heads and lil gun and loves them. Might be worth your while getting a shot sled so your not limited to the magazine and reduced COL , takes no longer really loading them single with this. Theres a guy in the UK that sells them I may be able to find his details if you fancy one. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/115268/original-bob-sled-loading-block-cz-527-22-hornet-221-fireball-222-remington-1-round-polymer-black
  9. For any members interested in purchasing a Pulsar, Cobra, Yukon night vision or thermal unit, please send me a PM and I'll try and beat any prices online.
  10. Makes a cracking vehicle setup Dave, easy to mount, they work very well in low light without any IR with the aperture fully open like you said. I'm just making up a bar, so I can mount my vehicle spotter alongside my thermal which I use, should be an awesome combination and remove the need for separate IR on the rifles fitted with NV.

  12. The compression on the video has degraded the image a lot. Some of these shots were out to 150yards, a lot of the rabbits were in long rape stubble, scrub and grass. Foxes stand out a mile, I just missed getting some footage of three together, and pulled out the .243 instead, as the battery died, a lad was with me with an air rifle and night vision, and had real trouble spotting them and getting a shot, just couldn't see half of them, thats a downside of NV and anything obscuring clear shots.
  13. I was out last night and shot about 50 rabbits, I had a Quantum HD38s Vehicle mounted to the Landy and my mate was using the .22 rimmy and I took the HMR fitted with an XD75 out...wow! I mean I have a few digital night vision scopes, Drone, LRF870, Photon...but this thermal mounted rifle scope is lethal, no faffing with IR torches, massive field of view, everything in your display, like the handheld quantum thermals, but target acquisition is rapid, no thinking wheres it gone carry on, the picture in picture function is great for more accurate shots at range I was dropping rabbits easily at up
  14. Black Gun, I would steer clear of the DFA75, other front inline add ons are ok, like the cobra blade, there's also a cobra blade LR due out which is better upto 9-10x mag, front add ons give a better image with a higher spec tube gen2+ upwards to get the best from them. If you prefer dedicated scopes, it all just depends on your budget, but theres plenty of choice.
  15. Personally I wouldn't bother with one. What rifle are you wanting the night vision for and shooting range needed.
  16. Dicehorn I agree thermal can be dangerous if things are mis-identified, but depending on the quality of the thermal unit, recognition can be improved a lot. I took an XD75 out tonight and the image quality was excellent, much better than the hand held quantum range. I would normally be against thermal rifle scopes unless you spend serious money in the region of 10k and I think a NV Scope/Thermal combinations are excellent , but I'm very impressed with this new dedicated thermal scope for the money, there still expensive, but if it was genuinely not up to the job, I'd be the first to say it.
  17. Depends on the use mate, I've just received some XD75's so I'll be trialling one tonight, I like the drone and the photons, but theres no faffing with IR or scanning to find after you put the thermal down, its just on target, just checked and the image is very good, better than my HD38S, sensor is the same, but refresh rate is higher and lens a lot bigger, the focus adjustment is slick to use too.. I'll let you know my verdict when I use it in the field.
  18. Yes there good for the money, they can be focus fussy but the price more than makes up for it.
  19. I wouldn't say thermal is unreliable, mines been spot on the last two year, any glitches TJ sort out straight away and replace them if needed. Personally I wouldn't own an Apex XD38S or XD50S but I would the XD75 because of the increased magnification. I agree the price is high, but you get on target pretty quick!
  20. Why the XD50 over the higer mag XD75 Rabid?
  21. Is anyone tempted to go for the new thermal rifle scope the XD75 with its higher optical mag range? http://www.blackwoodoutdoors.co.uk/pulsar-apex-xd75-thermal-rifle-scope
  22. Anyone interested in a ready made vehicle night vision setup. Dave on the forum aka some bloke is selling them for £200 plus £8 Delivery, nice well built piece of kit. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/night-vision-truck-cam-spotter/
  23. Dave aka somebloke is on here also, I don't think he is dealing in torches any more though. The range of the torch will be well over what your going to be shooting with a photon. As an example a similar torch lights my drone up well past 300yds. You will easy get 200yds with the photon and this torch.
  24. Walshie the thing with the photon, being a tube style, you can just use a figure of 8 clamp like you said. Grab one of these 50mm torches from ludicrous lumens http://www.ludicrous-lumens.co.uk/T50Mini_50mm_Aspheric_zoom_lens_torch_or_850nm_IR_iluminator/p2616500_13825106.aspx You do not need anything more for the photon.
  25. Just received an email from someone with a request, if anyone can help him out.. Hi I've joined the forum because of my life long interest and involvement in Field Sports generally here in the UK and other parts of the world. My particular interest has been experiences with running and hunting dogs of which I've had years of pleasure with in Saudi, Iran when the Shah was in charge, Chile, Argentina and much of the USA. Now aged 66, I have for a number of years been trying to make contact with the guy who introduced me to running dogs when I was in my early teens in Bury Lancashire. His
