  1. A merry Christmas to you and to all on the forum.
  2. It's great to get a new or new to you rifle and then you can't wait to get out there and try it out, it's a good feeling. ATB.

    Big Cats

I love the urban myth of big cats, it's much more real than the Big Foot story. I think there have been large cats released into the wild over the years but it has already been said that the Farmers and keepers that cover all the UK land tidy there areas up some more than others. I have seen a bigger than normal cat but it was not an exotic/big cat just am extra big moggy but it got my attention as it was in the Lakes and it's the only time I have seen a cat stalking around a field half way up Coniston. It just looked strange to me because of it's size, it was black and was at that kind of dis
  4. He has both the hw00 and two daystates but on a more serious note if i wanted to get a wolf it would have to be Davids and no other his is try,d and tested and has no problems and its 177 to boot but iv got to say its one of the best air rifles iv shot apart from the hw100. hitting bolt heads out to 65 yards with every shot and i mean every shot not missed one at the range with the wolf atvbmac  Hello Mac I know this one is a loved and sorted item and think one day when I know enough about PCP high end items like this one I will take the plunge and get the wolverine 303 in
  5. There is a pattern here and it is always the same. When people want to get started they have a pre conceived idea that £200 should cover it. 200 quid is a fair amount of cash to waste and that is what you will be doing if you buy a new rifle, scope and gun bag. Don't forget that with out a gun slip you can't even take it into the street to put it in your car. Even second hand you are pushing it a bit at 200 and I think that 250 for a second hand set up my be a better idea.
  6. They look great to me David but they seem to be slagged off by a lot of seasoned shooters. For the money are they pound for pound better than the HW100. I am not having a go at your choice of rifle and yes it looks great but out the box are they a Rolls Royce ?. I have never heard a bad word about the hw100's.
  7. I like the look of some of the daystate rifles but looks alone don't add up to the price tag for me. This could be a bit harsh coming from me who has never used a daystate but there aren't enough of you seasoned shooters sticking up for them and singing there praises for me to remotely think about one over my HW100's. I really like the look of the wolverine 303 and if it were the Rolls Royce of air rifles with good reviews I would splash the cash.
  8. Hw100 fsb in 177 with sporter stock sweet but could do with a mod, looks and handles great, also a hw100kt in twenty two and is just about silent. Both these rifles are the muts nuts and I feel like I have the best of all worlds. Had the silent twenty two out the other night for some silent ratting but there was that much wind noise I think I could have got away with the FSB.
  9. Welcome to the forum and Rez has it covered and if you follow this advice you will not go far wrong. HW99 new or HW95 second hand.
  10. Yes pocket for me and sawdust, covered in it every day. Pleased that others do the same as I tell myself I should not be doing it like that every time I do it.
  11. All the best to all on the forum, get well soon VM. Big Mac I hope you lads around the toon catch up with who ever took your mates rifle and recycle your old Christmas tree right up his ring piece.
  12. That's Shit, like VM says if we keep an eye on free adds. I would be happy to look at any in my area.
  13. The 77 has clean lines and hits the mark every time but so dose the 97. The 77 has a bit more of a crack to it but you can get a mod for it but would add length.
  14. .177 or twenty two ?.......... just saying.
  15. I need another rifle torch so thought I would check the phone number only to find out that he has stopped trading. What a shame as he was great to deal with last time. Any ideas who to use now ?
  16. I have used free adds but stay in my own area and always ask for there home or mobile contact number. I was put off by an add from a guy who had a number of tuned rifles that he said he had bought new but not used and they were not cheep but had a fair price tag and I was very tempted but at the end of the day I had a gut feeling not to go through with it because it was a risk. The guy may well have been a good guy and said for me to ring a very well known tuner to verify that he had bought the imp from him but I thought for the sake of a bit more money and the weighting I could have a new
  17. I think it's more me that needs warming up, it was cold in the long shed on the farm. The rifle is a SFS hw98 in 177 and it hits the bull area straight away although it makes total sense that it will work better when it's warm. Mind I am only at 26 mtrs or I am stood in a wet patch on the floor at the 30 mtr mark lol.
  18. I am a yes vote. To me it's a no brainer but we have a lot of soft do gooders that want to just give our country away but it's not there's to give. Back fill that tunnel for a start and put a we are FULL sign at all the ferry crossings. I don't want any of my hard earned money to be spent on people coming into what was our country.
  19. That looks fantastic villaman, is it a bit lighter than the 95. I am thinking that its internal dimensions are going to make it a bit sweeter ?
  20. Thanks guys If there is no good reason to get a 95 over the 99 then that will be that. I should take a trip and try a friends imp to see what I am missing, then continue down to order one. Work is flat out so I may have to do it on the phone with the man himself.
  21. Thanks for the replies. Just to paint the picture a bit. I have had a new hw95k and it was great but let my good friend have it and it was in 22 and was sweet to use but wanted to get it tuned to complete the very good package. I have a hw98 SFS in 177 so there would be no point in getting a hw95 in 177. So it's between a stage 2 tuned 95 or a stage 2 tuned imp and I am wondering about a few things if I boiled it down Are the imps more pointable and lighter and will the 95 make it's full power easeyer. Is there any one with both ?
  22. I have been thinking about one of these all year and know it will take some time for an order to be completed but before I dive in what are my options ? I am thinking SFS hw95 or hw99 in .22 I was wondering about weight between both rifles and if custom walnut is lighter. Both in standard are listed as a similar weight.
  23. Why did the pheasant cross the road ? answers on a post card.
  24. Am I missing something. If you range find or know the distance from say the tree to the pheasant feeder where the little git is having a go at and you are 30/35 yards or metres and your rifle is zeroed you would just shoot it.
