Yes, that is why we are going. I'll look my Dad after a shift down t'pit ? We are going to a site betwen L'Estartit and Torroella de Montgris. On a normal late Dec / early Jan there normally aren't many tourists so I thought with reduced numbers some places might close. And the festival could suffer too. It is a 6:30 hour journey.

How are things out the there? We are booked on a camp site in the north-east from 2nd Jan, but no point in going if the bars and restaurants have shut down, either enforced or through lack of trade.

My mate had a near double cod from the Humber last week. Mind you, it contained about three pounds of crabs and shrimps.

Not with the cane rod I have. It will lift 4 1/2 lb off the ground. ?

For the last three years I have had 2 metre catfish on a cane rod and centrepin reel on my 'to do' list. However, with covid restrictions, lousy summer weather and some unforseen circumstances eating into the 3 month period when this could happen, I have not achieved it. So, that is my 2022 target along with a Spanish barbel and a 10lb plus zander. I'm hoping for the Spanish barbel next month.

I was running my dogs on that estate from 1997 to 2005. Never heard of the incident mentioned by Tats and I can't imagine John Ambler, the head keeper threatening anyone. To be honest the people involved in running that shoot were all from the cast of: The Darling Buds of May or Heartbeat. Now, the shoot next to it and rented from the Fitzwilliam estate did have some crackpot keeper perhaps it was one of them? Happy days. I also used Sandbeck near Maltby. The old Earl of Scarborough used to stop off for a chat while we were training. He used to boast that he had stocked all of South Y

Back in the 1980's there was a sergeant I worked with at Golldthorpe who used to go out in the panda at night and run rabbits over on the grass land around Bolton Brick Ponds. He would take them back to the station to gut and skin them in the canteen.

Ours is about 8 feet to the surface of the water which is above the level of the roof of the school at the bottom of the hill . Never thought about testing the depth.

Where we live is towards the highest point in the region. Top of a hill between two sides of the same river valley as it curves around us. Yet we have two wells that never run dry. And the water comes out at 12C summer and winter so, in theory, we could tap into it and run it through a heat pump. The top of the hill is about 20 metres above us in a field. There is a well in that field that constantly overflows. I don't understand it.

We have a choice. Turn the valves and we can have well water in the house system. I usually only have it to the outside taps though. I've washed the car and motorhome with well water today. In the old cottage we used to rent, the water came from a large tank fed by spring water. After heavy rain the tap water ran brown and we got shrimps in the bath. The kitchen tap had a filter fitted.

Every situation is different. You can't compare prices or fees because some people have a lot of competition, others don't so can charge more. And people's overheads or situations differ. Regards doing it for a bit of shooting / ferreting / fishing, I don't see why that is a problem if it works for both parties. I don't see how that is different to people paying farmers to hunt rabbits on their land or shoot pigeons. I agree with Katchum in making the customer pay more if you are following someone else though. I have two customers who I now don't charge a cent. Their situations chan

I got caught short while on mole patrol last week. This is what I found..... Obviously it was't on its side. I can't get the photo to rotate. This one was spotless. Some look like the American air force have bombed them.

When you see some of the subjects he has asked about lately you got off very lightly. ?

Or ten nights in Turkey and half a dozen watches. I bought a Breitling, Rolex and two Adidas sports watches for twenty quid. The Breitling lasted about 15 years and the wife's Rolex even longer.

I never buy anything that is described using the words pro, tactical, military spec', survival, special forces, etc, etc unless I can be sure that it is. There is so much dross about aimed at the gullible public it is untrue.

That is how news works. Reporters are too lazy to go and find a story so they copy stuff from other papers and social media. We had a police dog retire early because it wasn't up to the job. It was re-homed to a reporter from a local newspaper who did a short story on the police dog that wouldn't give chase. That was picked by the nationals and then every English speaking country featured the story and in each case the Chinese Whispers effect made a true minor story into a far fetched scenario where the dog allegedly had fallen asleep when chasing a burglar. Reporters from America and Austral

And I'll bet that your boyfriend was long gone ?

And why he had his trousers down at the time. There was one guy who 'fell onto' a wrought iron gatepost on our shoot. He fell a bit too far and the fire brigade had to lift him off it. Thing is people would be touching that as the passed through the gate.

My BIL always takes his mate dressed as Father Christmas on a tour round Barnsley in his open top Bond Minicar 3 wheeler. Everyone waves at them.

Why don't you go for a cctv type live cam? You can watch the live action from your armchair.
-
He doesn't visit this section KD. You could PM him though.

Not to mention why somebody would be driving down an unlit road at night whilst filming with a mobile phone. ?

The wolf had been sighted in the Gironde estuary area and the photo confirmed the sightings. The photo was analysed and compared to the scene where it was taken. It was useful in that they knew the size, sex and species. I can't find the original photo but the link is for another sighting. VIDEO.
