I am torn with this Tonali gambling thing and how it is being portrayed. I work with young men, or rather manage them. So many of them are f***ing clueless as to what real life is and making the transition from a child to a man. This superstar signing for Newcastle has a "gambling addiction" and the love is poring out for him. Some of my apprentices will latch on to that. No, he is a an immature stupid little c**t not a victim or a role model.

I have the room but not the inclination or the green fingers. I try to keep chilli and herb plants alive but they tend to die and just keep on getting replaced. My sister is going to try and relocate it. Cheers.

Not the office as such, not getting paid, but the person who is buying my mam and dad's house is getting annoying. Latest, wanted dad's greenhouse removed even though they agreed on price as it was. Close to "go f**k yourself" stage but that's not how my dad went about things so trying to be as good a man as he was. He's not dead but changed. You could have educated him better. Always to be drank from an half schooner. Best avoided IMO, not that high in alcohol content but can turn a good man bad A strange drink. Remember working at S&N Brewery as a contractor and they had their own sort of AA department for the lads who worked there, kind of HR before its time.

The main objection to the "fan zone" is from a councillor who says that the noise would be unacceptable to local residents. People who choose to live in a city centre next the big football ground will be upset at the sound of people enjoying themselves! I suspect the real reason is that this person would prefer that Newcastle were known as a city of culture and diversity bla, bla, bla rather than something as uncouth and working class as football. You guessed it she's Labour. But as WILF would say, we voted for her (I didn't but somebody must have).

The last Newcastle United manager being courted by England was Alan Pardew after, I think, 5th place for us. Just enjoying the football at the moment and well aware that it can, and probably will, go tits up at any time

Murphy's goal against Palace. A cross or a fluke? It matters not. A prime example of a player who looked destined to drop down a division from the EPL never to return not that long ago. Simply not an EPL quality player. What changed that, and it has happened to quite a few at Newcastle? Is Eddy Howe in possession of football's Philosopher's Stone and can create gold from lead? Could it be something as simple as getting the players fit and training them properly with a real game plan that they all understand? No matter what it has messed up our recruitment in regard to FFP for this season. £50M and goodness how much in wages. No different than a long term injury I suppose and Longstaff gets more of a chance with the big money signing not being an option anymore.

This Tonali thing is annoying. Just when Newcastle were making only back page headlines another knacka messes it up. Apparently the kid cried when told that he was being sold and cried when the coppers came a knocking with the gambling thing. OK, he is a young lad but does not seem very strong mentally or the sharpest pencil in the box. Undoubtedly talented though and a complete ban from playing wont do him much good from a mental perspective. Rear while drive transit. Police officers turned up. The 1st on the scene had a brief conflab with me and quickly cancelled the air ambulance. Some well meaning half wit had reported a bus crash. I had already called our standard recovery, and even though the lad said his rig was not man enough (a f***ing big rope) the policeman allowed us to try. The rope snapped. Next one turned up with a bigger rig. Did not work. Eventually the police offered the service of something that could do the job but warned me that we would have to pay for it. This is a double pet hate. Bad drivers and apprentices. Phone call 5 minutes after being dropped off at home I think you need to come and look at the bus... no I do not want to look at the bus, see you tomorrow... no, I think you really need to come and look at the bus! The little prick had somehow managed to create this by attempting a 3 point turn. He's a project manager now, God help us all.

I was looking through an old project folder today and came across these pictures that I had forgotten about. Difficult to tell what type of animal it was from the photographs but the silhouette definitely suggests some kind of big cat.

I was in Stevenage 3 weeks ago for a family funeral and stayed in a pub, the Green Man, and they had a Christmas tree. Fully decorated. I did ask why, thinking it may be a quirky thing that they do all year round, but no, it was the 2023 Christmas tree. And it had a very strong smell of onions. Discovered the next morning that it was surrounded by fields of onions.

Was this the thread asking for pictures of past Patterdales? I have no original photographs but had intended to scour through old EDRD's and books. These are a few from on the top of the pile of hundreds. Can only upload to 14.65 MB though.
