  1. An old friend is being forced to "down size", his ex getting his house. He asked if I wanted any of his prints. He's only keeping his originals or the rarer signed prints. I like these 3.
  2. Found the Liverpool FA Cup match being streamed on DSTV with English commentary for anyone not wanting to listen that woman co-commentating on ITV
  3. I could give many examples but not in the serious context of the original of the thread. Found out at a relatively young age that they are crazy in direct proportion to how beautiful they are. Beautiful women exist in a bubble of privilege. How much of the crazy you are prepared to put up with depends on how much you need to enjoy their beauty. And for how long. The thing is though, I see many men these days having their lives being dictated to by ugly pig dogs! Yes, love is blind but come on, show some ambition and there is a Spec Savers on every highstreet.
  4. mackems?!? Now it just got interesting.
  5. Klopp? Such is the modern game in England. He f****d up last season (in the opinion of his employer's and some fans) but has now got them back on track. The track that they were not on for many years until his arrival. A great football manager. Probably doing a f**k you, f**k you all!
  6. There where some good contributors to the weekly or monthly sporting press papers in the days before we had the internet. A lot of it was shite but worth buying for the good stuff. Thank you to those who wrote the good stuff.
  7. I think LPD is correct. Mr. Burrell's breeding only goes back 800 years. I looked after a Rottweiler for someone once and thought it best to read up on them. According to some breed books the lineage of Rottys can be traced back to ancient Rome. The Burrell dogs are scatter bred bitzas in comparison.
  8. There is a rumour that Klopp is under investigation by the FA over accusations of cheating. Apparently after Liverpool have been awarded penalties some opposition keepers reported him for blinding them with his teeth. That's why he now turns his back to play when they take a penalty. Not sure if it's true mind.
  9. I just liked this, struck a note at the time.
  10. More reason then to keep and not burn. History. A quote popped into my head after reading this and it was in a Plummer book. Now I have upset everyone Something like "there came a time when the quite men of the forest were no longer valued. A wise man said record those who hunted the fields and the forests as there will come a time when they will be looked on more favourably" or words to that effect. It inspired me at the time when most people thought that I was a proper weirdo because I hunted with dogs.
  11. Bull cross more suited. Slip the dogs of war.
  12. Spooky when I read this. I had just been reading history of the French Foreign Legion again and the thought popped into my head, should we conscript these immigrants and put them to the test to find out how much they valued attaining British citizenship? The Romans offered the same opportunity 1000's years earlier. Then I thought... should be be arming these people and training them to fight properly? Probably not.
  13. I found it quite a thought provoking question. There was a time I would have instantly answered the call to arms. The country and government were not perfect but is any? The last Labour government changed that in my opinion. They were the ones who began to break this broken Britain and subsequent Conservatives have done nothing to fix it, the opposite in fact. Broke the country even more. Would I now answer the call? Well, I am slightly passed my prime but as it is a theoretical question I had to think about it. Would I want to fight to protect what this country has become? Probably not.
  14. The "laddish" culture of the '90's. "girl power". Drink pints, get pissed, get tattoos, sleep around, just like we do. That generation of young working class women were sold down the river by their role models and the male dominated media.
  15. I think that women have been dealt a better hand than men in the society that we live in for a long time now. Look at suicide rates, mostly men. That's one thing that they are not demanding equality in.
  16. Rather tenuous but often brings a smile to my face when I walk past. On one of the walls in the place where my parents now live, part of our culture man!
  17. Once a person is afflicted with it there is no going back, no cure, it only gets worse. There are many charities and support groups but in the cold light of day they do bugger all. The inevitable is that the person afflicted needs 24/7 attendance. Sad but true. The charities do f**k all. PS. I have just read my own post and it may appear as though I was expecting or needing help from charities. Not at all. The help needed was an actual person in attendence and these are not provided free of charge on the NHS. Not a problem, paid for it. Then eventually found a proper place for relocation
  18. Is that a full deerhound if you don't mind me asking sir? Impressive looking hound whatever it is.
  19. Not really viable consistent working terriers though. Those nice working Parson types that you have would not be out of place in a working terrier show. And nothing wrong with that. Good conformation is not a disadvantage to any working dog, breeding purely for conformation and rosettes is. But people like shiny things.
  20. Russell x cocker? Just shows what I know, bugger all . Back in the day those Jack Russells on estates were probably a bit of this and a bit of that, especially considering that parents went to work, kids went to school and people's dogs were just let out to form packs and roam the streets until someone returned. Madness to think about now, but happy days at the time. Unless you were a postman.
  21. I have a sneaking suspicion that they may pull something out of the bag, particularly now Joelinton is probably going to miss the rest of the season. Don't know how exactly but I like the way that these people operate. Clever, and cards close to the chest. Ever the optimist, despite what people who know me say
  22. I remember walking out of my front door to be greeted by a neighbour who said " have you heard, we've been sold, Newcastle are now the richest club in the world!" And it has been grand ever since. Until recently. We need more quality players for the 2nd half of this season. But we cannot get any because of rules and regulations. So being the richest football club in the world counts for nothing at this moment in time. We may need to sell the better quality players that have been signed by the new owners before we can buy others. f**k off! If the new owners are the cold blooded unscru
  23. Most of us have to put up with people and spend time in their company that we would rather not if given a choice. In order to pay the bills. It seems to me that your shoot is your Shangri-La not a paid job? I may be wrong. If your enjoyment of YOUR shoot is going to be compromised then do not allow it to happen. Have an honest clear the air meeting with the 2 other chaps that have a say as to who is or is not going to be welcome on the shoot and see how it goes. In regard to the person threatening to shoot hounds he just a c**t. I am not condoning unruly hounds and incompetent huntsmen
  24. A nice old fashioned "ankle biter" type Russell that was probably the most popular of pet breeds at one time in the UK. The enemy of postmen, binmen, paper boys and milkmen. Had great fun hunting all sorts with them growing up. Mostly borrowed from neighbours. People didn't mind back then as long as you washed them before bringing them back and hadn't hit on anything too smelly.
  25. It used to be common way for lads I grew up with of buying cheap knackered cars, give them a clean and do enough make sure they start before selling on to some poor naive soul for a quick profit. Sometimes back fired (no pun intended) as coppers would park outside and pull a likely looking suspect for a car insurance check in days before temporary insurance could be arranged quickly over a mobile phone or online. Seen some nice paint jobs using a brush and a tin of gloss
