32 of #5 will do pretty much anything you need. I tend to go 32g, #5, 2.5" and fibre wad of whatever is cheapest because I can run them through any of my 12's so I only need one belt / cartridge bag and I don't get that "oh crap" moment when my short chamber gun is taken out with 3" cartridges!

MTC mamba, viper or any of the side px hawke scopes are good, ir receptive scopes for an add on.

Agree I would never buy one of those when you can do better and cheaper, a screen build can be done for under £100 for the parts and get 300 yards no problem. I've got a sub 50 quid build on the diy section of nightvisionforumuk.com (excluding illuminator and batteries). And that is good for 200 yards with an as pull t20. Bigger ir, a better camera, bigger stock mount battery pack instead of on board 18650's and it becomes a £200 build that will go over 400 yards.

But funny all the same. https://youtu.be/5V56DiadYoU

Massively, massively over priced for the performance they give. You can self build a very tidy unit that will get you out to 400 yards (or further behind a good nv receptive scope) for about £200/£220 with enough battery life to last well beyond any normal night hunting. I wouldn't even begin contemplating buying a niteshite unit for what they cost. On a £ per yard ratio a self build will probably work out 4 to 5 times more cost effective.

Not jack Pyke neoprene ones. They are crap - they are like an elastic band and don't really hold the rifle still at all when your walking. I really like the buffalo river neoprene ones, nice and thick, don't bounce, grippy underneath so they don't slip on your shoulder too. Niggeloh are good but some have a little bounce, Allen are pretty good too. I'm not a fan of leather ones as they are a bit too rigid for me shooting off sticks as they tend to get in the way. I've just made myself a twin strap sling out of paracord which has ended up really comfortable. I'll be

If its brand new then take it back to your rfd and see if the importer will repair it.

Can you slightly alter the bottom metal position on the stock to tease the mag into the right position or alter / persuade the mag release catch to sit slightly further back (assuming its at the the front) How about glueing a small shim to the front edge of the mag to push it back where it needs to be?

Is the puma the cz clone? I had issues with a cz wmr mag that wouldn't lift properly and it was down to a well worn (borderline knackered mag spring) Spring tension goes and it doesn't push the rounds quite high enough. You could try strippimg the mag and either stretching the spring slightly or see if there is a way to add a bit of preloaded with a spacer at the top or bottom

is that one of dannys, drut? my savage has a modified a5 from SSS - bipod & monopod are gone, scope has been changed & the mod has been sleeved to stop glare from my illuminator... but its still a very handy bit of kit.

You'll get concrete block for a quid each at the builders merchant. Lay them flat rather than verticality if your not cementing them in place. It'll lift it enough to get a bit of air flow and be nice and stable

Unfortunately it happens to everyone and when someone claims they don't miss shots they are talking out of their arse! Not always the actions of dicks, sometimes its just one of those things (not saying your estimation isn't accurate though, I've seen and heard some worrying things over the years I've been hunting) For me, air rifle shooting has to be done with a far larger amount of care than rimfire / centrefire. It's better to try and take a headshot and get a clean miss than a heart / lung and get a bad hit. Admittedly, as soon as you take the plunge and go from a 16 grain sub 1

For that price you could buy a hob, separate hutch and have him snipped!

Replacement Bolt For Webley .410 Shotgun
Jax13 replied to Lost Generation's topic in Rimfire, Centrefire & Shotguns
Ours has a different serial on the gun than it does on the bolt. We are assuming at some point it got swapped or replaced but function hasn't altered at all, it'll still frighten a crow to death! -
I don't really do the whole surplus camo thing anymore because I'd rather buy decent clothing and be happy! I must admit this year's ferreting has been a lot more pleasant in my deerhunter bib and brace - dry as a bone and toasty warm regardless of weather, it's also very resistant against hawthorn so less broken thorns in my legs as a result from crawling about under hedges. The light / dark thing isn't really an issue (think of the US hunters who need to wear flouro orange these days) but having something like a realtree or dpm pattern breaks up your outline and that is where the benef

What budget do you have? Theres a lot of options out there. Ian, apologies for piggybacking this topic. Im a NV novice but wanting something for my 22 rimfire AND my air rifle. The rimmy one would be for shooting rabbits probably no further than 40-50 yards, the air rifle one would be for rats and roosting pigeons around farms. I see some are actual scopes and some look like a mini tv screen connected to your scope. There seem a plethora on fleabay. What would be a good budget priced starter? cheaper the betterYou need to do more research first. If your happy with screened, you could do

Mines a wmr lux but it's only got a single mounting screw. The barrel lug is there but it is not threaded so really just acts like a bedding block of sorts in the recess in the stock. It hasn't affected accuracy at all, 150 to 170 yard bunnies with 30gn vmax or 33gn rem accutip are its bread and butter (although at 20 quid a box I steer clear of the remington rounds given the choice.) With 30gn jhp or 25gn ntx is it every bit as accurate as my old hmr was out to 125 and beyond. I'm more of a limitation to its accuracy than ammo or inlet. For me the issue with the lux stock

Your not alone there mate. Having somewhere to work that isn't full of nettles, hawthorn, blackthorn & Holly hedges would be splendid!
-
Depends entirely on of you are planning on doing deer with it or not. For fox, you don't really need anything more than the ability to chuck a 45 or 50gn vmax at 3k fps+ which most twist rates will handle. If your planning on deer you will probably want to be throwing heavier bullets so twist rate becomes more of a factor.

Was trying to be tactful Cam,didnt want to start rumours about your hob and its STD lol..... No std's, he's just a Roy chubby Brown fan and he back scuttled her to death!

It was my vas hob, groot, that daves mate used last year, strangely, he has lived with my two Jill's all year, for 3 years and isn't separated (only had to take him out for a week because of the back of one Jill's neck) he doesn't pester them too much because he gets an absolute pasting from either of them if they aren't happy to stand and he is a big strong bugger that's built like a dwarf badger rather than a ferret.
-
Probably a bit of dust or something. One of mine is erratic as hell and often doesn't want to turn on and just gives a wierd single beep. I left it on the ferret and after a couple of hours of her being in the box when I pulled her out and checked it (was just going to switch collars) it was working perfectly. I was contemplating giving it a good blast from my dive bottle to clear any dust out from inside but haven't got around to it yet.

14 acre. Quality guys to deal with (iirc, agouti nets sold to them when he shut up shop) I had an order a couple of weeks back and they are an absolute pleasure to deal with, quality stuff too. I'll never bother looking elsewhere if I'm honest.
-
It amazes me that they aren't out of business yet to be honest. Their £ per yard ratio of their kits is appauling With diy builds being so cheap and simple to put together and they can outperform the ns at any distance. I would be devastated if I had parted with hard earned cash for a niteshite!
