  1. Hi guys , had to put him out of his misery , whatever I tried he was just getting weaker , got him out of his run as he could not stand and put him on the grass , but he just layed there with his head on one side. I hate having to do that , but he was so weak , AAARRRGGGGHHHH. God bless , little fella.
  2. nope , if I see fleas , ferret shampoo kills them off , its the only time they get a bath , but that stuff works for me every time.
  3. Same here, clean every time and use a bore snake on my target rifle during a competition . Perhaps I can save some time and not clean them every time then I will have more time to watch Jeremy kyle. NNNNNNNNNNNNNooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!! a bad joke , sorry.
  4. thanks for all your help , he's great in himself , just thin and lacking any energy , gave them all a cock pheasant yesterday , that should be a good start.
  5. Just wire a snap d clip on , the sort of thing you have on the end of your dog lead. wire it on the lid and clip it onto a staple on the side/front , job done.
  6. He is definitely not being bullied off the food , I've watched and he gets his fair share , although he seems to take ages to eat it . He is about 4 -ish , as near as I know as I got him from a rescue centre , no I have never wormed any of my ferrets that may be a good start. The gaots milk sounds interesting , but the last thing he needs is a dose of the runs. Thanks for all your advice , really would like to get him sorted before the cold weather creeps in.
  7. I need to put some weight on one of my hobs he has lost a fair bit over the summer months and is now boney along his back , too thin for my liking , cant really understand it as the other 5 he lives with are in really good condition. All summer they have had a diet of mostly rabbit out of the chest freezer , so my plan is to feed him on some pigeons and the odd pheasant , have spoken to one of my farmers who said shoot all the pheasants you want as long as I can have an odd brace, Lucky am I or what.
  8. nice one mate , well done , always pleased to see one rescued and working again.
  9. Mine is similar mod still sirocco , but SM11 , use it on my .22lr , whisper quiet.
  10. This drives me mad, AHHHHHH!!!! Set 3 tunnel traps in a front lawn , all covered with oak boards , and marked with hazel sticks , checked them after 2 days , caught a mole in the first one I checked, nothing in the second and no oak board or trap at the third place , but still the hazel marker . I asked the home owner who swore blind he knew nothing about it , the house is in a very rural location with no other properties near by . So no-one passing could of taken it , fox or badger , I don't think so , no sign of digging and the board had gone as well . Homeowner ran over it with

  12. glad you got payed , waiting for money drives me to drink, , could be worse though, .

  14. Shot one with the cz on Saturday , while I was out after bunnies , he just happened to be on the ground at the wrong time . Never eaten them myself , but the ferrets love them.

HI dean , sorry to mess you about , but after I posted that , I've slept on it and decided to keep them after all . I spent years building the collection up a lot of them are signed first editions some of the authors now sadly passed away , such as "The Sinews Of Falconry , by Gordon Robinson.I even have a signed copy of D'Arcussia's falconry 1643 , the translation by John Loft. Good luck with your search mate , you may find all my collection one day , when I've gone and the wife sells them on a car boot sale .
  21. I never have , but I know of a gamekeeper who used to soak pine cones in renardine, when you could get it , roll them down the holes and stand back to shoot them as they bolted with his 12 bore.
  22. Have you thought of trading it in and getting one with a shiny new 16" barrel . mines 16" , plus the mod , this adds another 6" on , so your back to your 22" barrel again .
  23. yes they are facing different directions , try facing them into the wind,
  24. Cant beat the cz 452 , mines with synthetic stock though and an edgar bros sirocco mod , its quieter than my silenced airarms boro. I zero mine in at 75 yrds , try this you will get tighter patterns and then you will learn how to compensate at varying ranges , but whatever have fun , and practice before you try on any bunnies .
