  1. what a little darling , a real country gent for sure.
  2. looks ingenious , but the duffus are my bread and butter traps , so im out.
  3. The garden gun , I guess , stiil for sale at £200 - ish , shells are £15 for 50 , both need to be held/bought on a shotgun certificate, but of very little use 10-15 yards at rats that's about the use of it .Buy a pcp instead.
  4. good luck , you're probably looking in one of the hardest places to find permission ,the Norfolk farming world is really close knit and sometimes they don't like strangers on their land , can't see why. , Get some beating/brushing in this may be your only chance of getting started . I've found farmers in the county would rather pay to have their pest control done than let someone wander around their farm shooting one or two pigeons or rabbits.Funny that.
  5. Shotguns fine , 12 bore great for all your shooting , personally I use either a o/u or mostly my semi-auto , with regard to cartridge for all my shooting, game ,rough shooting , pest control etc , I use clear pigeon 32g no 6. use what suits you and your chosen gun though. For dear little bunnies I will use one of my shotguns , the rimmie or my pcp , controlling rabbits takes different methods for different situations.
  6. I know you posted this some time ago , but as I am now about to get a Hw100 , I found the videos very good , nice one.
  7. gun shops this weekend for me , well after some decoying Saturday , well after checking some of me mole traps.Life is so hard ,
  8. Have I made the right choice then Bigmac???????????
  9. great stuff , thanks , its good to be able to get all the advice you need from all the forum guys , cheers . Well after all that it's a Hw100 carbine sporter for me , for sure.
  10. Well by model after handling them , I am after a sporter , but full length or carbine, hmmm.
  11. Great topic , really good read , nice to see a bit of passion for what we do , personally for me its traps first and last , ( for the moles , that is ).
  12. Think its going to be a new Hw100 for me thanks all the same for the offer , have been to two gunshops in Norfolk , one quoted £745 , the other £755 , both said any model, that's all I need to decide now , really need to choose the right one as I will be forking out more money for one than my rimmie was new with scope/mounts , a sling and 2 spare mags.
  13. one wasp call out , great , perhaps you can charge by the wasp now.
  14. That was close , yes a nice gun , but I nearly let my wallet rule my head . Definitely going to wait for the HW100 , after all the great comments everyone has on here for them . I guess its better to cry once , pay once.
  15. A bit off topic - ish , but just had a call from my local gun club ,( they new I was after a hw ) and someone has a HW97KT for sale . I don't know much about them other than its an underlever and single shot but maybe better than what I have . Really need something better to get on top off the rats. This is more in my price range I must say.
  16. Cheers guys , definitely the rifle for me then , weight is not really the issue , just need more shots quicker when the dear little long tails start running. I need to save up and sell the Airarms quick , many thanks again.
  17. Hi Martin , I am lucky enough to say that I have all of your books and signed , I made a point each year of coming to find you at the falconry fair , thanks for putting up with me.
  18. thanks for the replies already , I hoped I was along the right lines , just a bit unsure as to the model before I fork out the money.
  19. I am thinking of selling my Air Arms bora , (its fitted with a gas ram ), and getting a HW100 instead , which model I don't know ??? The only reason for a change is I have the chance of a fair amount of rat shooting and figure a magazine will enable quicker / more shots to be taken , plus the Bora although a great gun is a little on the heavy side . Any feed back would be much appreciated, thanks.
  20. mate I feel for you , I had to give up my female harris 4 years ago due to work constraints and I miss her terribly , wish I could change my job and fly a bird again , and yes I am really trying.
