  1. Trickle it out isn`t the word - ditto to "The one"
  2. Just an each to their own thing really - Doc mentions he uses x7, - someone other might use x8 - each to their own telescopic sight and mill dot set up you see . Experiment with your mill dot reticule v magnification/ shot placement. If you set your zero at x6 your shot placement wiil probably change at x8.
  3. Hi Rez, 9.77 ft/lb with a Falcon menace 4-14x44 = good accuracy and more than enough power at sub 12 ranges. I wish as a young lad that i`d have learned quicker that accuracy is paramount not power, - we had no access to chronographs so i changed my mainspring twice a year like a numpty . atb
  4. Ditto to all the advice given to you Moz85 but fac or sub 12 with a pellet on pellet grouping at 40 yards and no instant kill means you are not shooting the vital areas sir. Head/neck - Heart/lung - between the shoulder blades(if you will). ONLY !
  5. Always remember the black rabbit years ago. I would shoot round, over the top and in between the others to try and get him. Got him in the end. and never forgot him since and never will, - why ?
  6. Feck me - never a strawberry blonde fella ,- never ever . I did notice one thing though at about 3am they all smelled the same
  7. Shooting Moxy . Been quite some time now since i last had a "ginger one" but i had a "black one" very recently .
  8. Shooting jjm sounds like you have bought a good springer there. atb
  9. With the 100`s, AA fields at 6x .22 - 28 yds zero .177- 37 yds zero Very accurate shooting off those zero`s Patterdale. Please check out "best zero ranges" in the search engine, top right in this page. atb.
  10. Looked into this field again tonight and watched a large buzzard leave the area of the oak tree. On a path under this oak was a small kit mostly eaten - ah well, nature .
  11. Shooting Vm and Mike (the new person in your life)
  12. SHIT :tongue2: Looks like your in for some HW 100 tales then in .177 " "TWANG !" "
  13. Nice write up Mac but i`m thinking of leaving the springer decision for still longer after this week reading your experiences . Your Crow Sport is gone, you rave about the 97 and but the dont `alf "twang" a bit - so what would these springers be like in the "superior" .177 what would the "twang" be like compared to .22 ? Probably more pronounced would you think ? I hope some of the lads will give some advice on the recoil given by these rifles in .177 also. Nice to see you enjoying and shooting these rifles well Mac.
  14. .177 is my calibre mate as i am a "reformed" .22 air gunner of some 45 years. I find .177 calibre an utterly lethal round on small vermin. The accuracy is incredible. atb
  15. Hi Charlie, not mixy but poachers and lurchers around here but i do my best to protect.
  16. Took Kaiser, my German short haired pointer and binoculars to a long embankment of bramble, bushes and trees on one of my permissions to see how the rabbit numbers are lately. Two years ago and before, you would be lucky to see one, this evening i spotted a good 10 or 11 youngsters that were very nervous of me at a good 400 yds but stayed in their places nibbling the grass but no adults were in the open. So i sat down to watch all the habits through my bin`s and take note for a natural hide placement and build for a good hour. I`m tempted to build the natural hid
  17. Shooting ftm , - the good old Rapid eh ?
  18. Hi Mac, good luck with the new gun but what was bad with the Crow Sport in 177 ? The reason i ask is because i was pondering on this springer as well as the HW 77, 97 and another big temptation is a FWB sport 124 again (all in .177 ) atb
  19. There are 4 for sale in gunstar mate atb
  20. Try gunmart or gunstar mate. good luck
