Magpie Call?
mark williams replied to Bush Rummager's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Be careful on the recorded calls mate, i am not sure if the info i was once given is true but i was told they are illegal - i`m sure one of the lads will be along soon and tell us the answer. I heard a recorded call years ago and it would draw in Magpies like a magnet - unreal it was. Best magpie call i have ever used was a couple of dead Maggies on cradles to a rabbit with the guts hanging out (no physical call required at all). Let us all know how you get on mate ? atb -
Nice shooting Chris - your shot placement is excellent

Yes ditto to B Chief. Well i feel sorry for you Doc` and thank you for sharing . We should all take heed of this tale, don`t lend your hard earned equipment out to anyone,- ever !

Got chatting to the garden nursery owner and got myself a shoot, he said he was sick of the bar stuerd rabbits, rats and squirrels that plague his place. There was rabbit netting and rabbit shit everywhere , only 5 acres of a plot in woodland but looks brilliant. So heres where a top springer in my brand, spanking shiney new T Rex 200 hc will get to shoot against my HW 100 KT. i wonder ? --- have to wait for the T Rex scope to arrive yet.

Holding Still On The Shot
mark williams replied to kenax04's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Ditto to "The One" but only a few months ago down the ranges a Scottish lad -Jock, ex Falklands war sniper tightened my groups very quickly.(HW 100 KT .177) With Scottish accent in your mind please - You see those cross hairs jump ? Relax man. See those cross hairs Flip now ? Relax, relaxxx,___ Slow the breath down, now the flip is only just, , - expel breath gently ,- aim well, squeeze off between the flip(heart beat),- bullseye ! Works for me until a mini skirt is around with a "woman" in it Rez ! -
At last ! Fieldcraft first . You are spot on with your preparations jjm Good luck mate .

Made My Mind Up And Bought The Springer !
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Well the Mamba Lite 3-12x44 scb is ordered from Uttings and on its way but three local gunsmiths were out of stock of these scopes with Uttings only having one left after my order,- something about a take over at Mamba ? and this scope being a popular seller. -
Made My Mind Up And Bought The Springer !
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thank You random/ guys, yes i have been a springer man all my life(.22 cal) untill two years ago and the HW 100`S took my heart , their accuracy is just incredible. I always shot the FWB Sport 127 in .22 for 38 years and could have bought one today but decided to grow with the times and opted for the T-Rex. No disrespect intended but i was originally going to use my T-Rex as a top quality back up to my 100`s. Somehow i already feel that that`s not the case. That T Rex is a hell of a springer. So rather than shoot PCP exclusively i wi -
Made My Mind Up And Bought The Springer !
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Thank you Davy , i will take your advice and buy that scope for my TX, - would you recommend sports match mounts in medium ? Yes AA fields are already being used. atb -
As you now know i opted for the silky smooth TX 200 HC. Much better blueing than the others, much better stock and smooth as silk out of the box, no tuning needed.
-
Well lads i`ve been humming & erring which springer to buy for ages now and after much consideration it boiled down to the HW 97, HW 77, HW , FWB sport 127 and the AA TX 200. I have shot them all now, even had hold of a FWB sport 127 this morning . So was left with the final two (for me) - HW 97 or TX 200 HC. The "T-REX" was my final choice, in .177 flavour. The 97 felt a little cranky and ratchety compared to the ready tuned feel of the TX (smooth as silk) 200 HC. Feel as though i made the right decision, just hope

I was reading an article on them this morning in a small, quiet room with a throne and was surprised to read that as a bare minimum 72,000 have been sold. Very popular rifles

.22 Or .25 For Hunting?
mark williams replied to moz85's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
As above, but .177 at 15 ft/lb is a very effective air gun calibre/ power to consider also. About as sweet as it gets in .177. Remember though, "all that power does not make you a better shot (j. darcy) but fieldcraft makes you a "true hunter" (me ) atb -
HW 100 kt .177 - are you using this pcp and calibre more and more often these days James ? Good shooting by the way You mentioned ranges the other day, i usually zero at around 34 yds with my 100 kt, it also leaves me with a 16 yd zero with AA fields 8.4 g and my scope is the Mamba lite.

Guys would this grey area mean - no baiting for rats or squirrels also ?

What ever happened to Milegajo, family and caravan ?
