  1. Still giggling over that stuffed owl and the shotgun - hillarious Charlie ! If by any chance you were to accidently drop a rabbit with guts hanging out on a regular basis in a regular spot crows and magpies get to "expect it"and will visit looking for it. Try having the accident mornings only as Charlie`s mate will expect it too. You say there is no cover ? Make a natural hide Doc, keep the offerings going, and dont shoot the spot for weeks. I was given a tip years ago by a very wise old gamekeeper, "Get an old brush handle, put a little camo ne
  2. How lucky are you jjm ! Well done ! atb mate
  3. Nice write up Doc - your camo must have been spot on mate, but your "text was in times and not the standard Helvetica" nice advice and helpful input .
  4. Hi Stoater, my 100 ks loves the AA fields diablo too, very accurate and very hard hitting , i shoot .177 and .22 with AA Fields with the HW 100`s. atb
  5. Shooting jjm Please keep us in the know with the .20 cal, i`ve never even shot this cal (sheltered life)
  6. Hello again, again Rez, Type in "best zero range for .177 and .22" in your search engine.
  7. Yes Rez - take a look at "HW 100 kt .177 results" by typing into the search engine at the top of this page,- better than any paper target but you have seen this before. You dont believe me ? See ? i dont lie, just compliment and suggest. atb
  8. Proper shooting, wth proper rifles James or "Jimmy" ? Your choice of rifle and calibre for the job - perfect ! Best wishes with the new permission Jimmy, "GIT"
  9. Shooting John but i would suggest .177 would tidy your shooting to "perfection" at twice this range, as i can see you can shoot "a bit" in .22 Shooting mate .
  10. Hi Paul,(shooting mate ) i seem to remember Si Pitterway from Vermin Hunters tv doing a review on the HW kt .177 and he recommended rws fields. I shoot this rifle too and use AA Fields Diablo in .177 and .22 for all my hunting and target work down at the indoor ranges. When i am zeroed at 34 yds(.177) i would(try to) condition myself to four practice shots on each corner target of the above target for bulls eye only and finish on bulls eye only on the large target after shooting 1,2,3,4,5 in the vertical and then finish between the sm and k in each corner.(14 shots)
  11. Shooting ftm As said, getting out is what its all about, anything in the bag is a bonus ! (lovely rifle mate). atb
  12. Ha! Ha! give some slack on calibres Rez By the way .177 was by "far the best choice" Dan
  13. I picked up on something really useful tonight with these rabbits. I sat with my GSP some 400 yds + away and watched the shade from the sun slowly glide across the field behind the sunshine as the sun was going down.I noticed the rabbits were moving with the warm sun and staying out of the shade, continuing into a large corner of the field that is lined with dense hedge rows and bramble. So its a no brainer - hide to be cut, trimmed into shape low down in the dense hedges in this corner and when numbers dictate i will settle prone in this spot camo`d up on a still sunn
  14. Excellent rifle Dan . Which calibre is it ? Good luck hunting with her,
  15. Hi mate, VM`s advice is correct, go for the bottle and tell the wife you could not buy a pump as the shops cant sell them as demand is for the bottled 12 L/ 300 bar only . atb
  16. Ditto to VM Airborne, "make sure" you take Davy`s offer ! atb (all the best)
  17. It was for me for 45 years too - now i`m a reformed air gunner - .177 and pcp is bluntly untouchable, my game bags doubled overnight. atb
  18. "By far" the quietest of all is the HW silencer as standard fitted to the HW 100, plus an Air Arms Fields on arrival "always makes things very quiet indeed". atb
  19. Hi Airborne 3, welcome to the tribe. You have a great rifle/scope hunting combination that will outshoot anyone of us on here. No need to try and elaborate on the advice given - all is spot on. Closest i could find to a salute and i`m no "crap hat" "Welcome mate"
  20. yes mate the ultra se in .22 she loves it The best calibre as welll...... :icon_eek: yes ive been shooting airguns now since i was 13 and never shot any other cal only .22 Once you have shot an Ultra se in .177 flavour you will be part exchanging the .22 for it , "i promise you" atb
  21. An hour longer than me this week Remy, - nice result though . These Gamo rifles are not uncommon around the ranges, i do believe they are very good for the £ pennies invoved. atb
  22. As said - nothing nicer than seeing the young ones being taught well, - good on you toby
  23. Shooting Doc . Just think how tight those groups could get using .177 , and at greater distances if required.
