    Hi BigDog88, if you are under pressure to get the rabbit numbers down and they are very nervous, employ snares all along the woodland frontage - lethal method of control. I am not losing the fact that we talk air rifles in these forums, but snares make a massive difference in these situations. "For me" air gun hunting, fieldcraft and trapping all go "hand in hand" for the true hunting experience. "just my two pennies worth" hope it helps ,

    "Thank you Rez" - very helpful indeed. This rifle has been nudging me for a few weeks now and has me very interested . .22 i know mate, and i respect your thoughts on the calibre question but i really am having a love affair with the .177 and a HW 100 kt behind it. Anyone using this rifle yet ?

    One of my permissions has had Owls down the chimney and Owl shit all over the gable end of the farm house. Mark (the farmer) asked us to stop the Owl`s activity - which we have now managed to do (i`m a roofer of many, many years). This morning whilst collecting my scaffold he asked me "what do i owe you Mark" ? my reply was a nice big, plump un-frozen chicken this Christmas :-). He was made up as i always "look after" my permissions. Mark the farmer said have you got 10 minutes to spare - yes i said, and he took me and my middle son in his car for 5min

    A shame you had to pass on the gun smith apprenticeship for money - you never forget i suppose. An under keepers job was offered to me in 1978 - 16 yrs old and my mum hated the thought of me away in the wilds of Scotland, (her only child). The sniffles and silence made me stay home and carry similar regrets. My very best wishes to your Grandson Tron atb

    Is it true that you cannot shoot Hares on a Sunday ? Or after dark (lamping).I`m not sure as i never shoot them.
