  1. Big Mac always presents his guns on "silk sheets" you know , Watched a lad with a Raider 10 down my club a week or so ago and it was hitting the targets very well indeed ! £340 inc scope etc - why the reluctance to buy ? The Raider is a very good pcp. S410 are a cracking rifle too - "your call"
  2. I remember doing a speech and presentation at school in 1976 over shooting/ hunting with air rifles. My rifle was a Relum Tornado with a 4 x 15 sight plonked on top . I had to re- zero approx` every 8 shots but the wild, wild memories were and still are a lifetime treat. Then came the wonderful 4x20
  3. Take my GSP and wife, see how the Dragon retrieves
  4. Hi Marc T, The gunsmith i use told me that i should clean my 100 every time i change pellets. Once i find the pellet the rifle likes - "cease cleaning" and let the barrel get "leaded in", try your best to use no other brand of pellet, if you do, start all over again with the cleaning and leading process. I have used AA fields only in my 100`s for over two years with accuracy that at times is unbelievable and it is certainly not me, . Once leaded in - let it be .
  5. You have chosen a rifle and caliber you will not regret TM. I was honing my springer shooting today in my garden on 35 yd targets with my brand new (1 month old) TX 200 HC .177. I was sat on my old jack pyke pigeon bucket and shooting off sticks. Most shots struck within a 5p area, but none "ish" outside of a 10p area. I find the T-Rex a heavy gun but on sticks she just "clamps herself in" and is really right in the argument with my 100`s. On loading the gun - no contest,- HW easily wins.T Rex accuracy is "superb". As a hide gun the T Rex spring

  7. Davey t63 put me onto the Mamba lite 3-12 x 44 scb, - on top of the T Rex, seriously accurate and i am thinking of putting it onto the 100 kt. I love the "bog standard" Hawke Sport hd 4-12X50 on the HW 100 ks .22 cal - lovely well balanced rifle combo for mooching.
  8. Great shooting PP Rez ! Rez! have you read this yet ?
  9. Like i say,d at your,s mate nothing as strange as a woman and im getting there with the hw100 i pulled some cracking shots off with her top class in fact atvbmac  Hark !! I hear a lot of confidence !! - get in there Mac the 100`s are incredible.
  10. Take my hat off to you Rez to feel the way you do about the quarry and the shot. Personally it sounds like you had a "flyer" or just a bad day at the office. A pro sport at 15 yds must be hitting 10.5 ft/lbs, that rabbit was dead. Now when you go out with a "proper gun and same proper caliber" HW 100 KT .177 things might, just might, have been different like it was at the Lord and Ladies mansion, remember ? We have all had a bad day at the office Rez - dont beat yourself up over it. "Watch your bedtime" !
  11. Ha! Ha!, - i went to Curry`s and bought the Cannon ixus 160,- easily good enough for our requirements. I got home and my son said "all you need now Dad is a memory card, so another £12 on top of the £70 paid . So thinking here we go, stop the lads mythering for gun porn, i have to buy a universal lead of some description to unify the camera to the computer ? Its like me (a roofer) - "yes love, your roof is £4,000 but the tiles are extra" and gutters are a bit more !
  12. Not at all Mac i don`t carry .22 HW 100 ks for fun ,out to 35/40 + yds i have no hesitation using this rifle, - also absolutely lethal. Very close to .177 in the hunting field but not quite as good atb P,S -
  13. Walking one of the perm`s tonight (no gun), taking in what`s going on, i noticed a lot of woodies landing in the crops creating a large flattened circle some 40 yards diameter. I took note that the tractor run (tyre lines) ran straight through this circle and carries on through the field. I fancy my chances camo`d up, with the wheat pulled over the top of me lying prone in the channel and the HW100 kt on a bipod and a decoy or two in this flattened area. . When you think about it, i will be totally concealed until a pigeon walks across the front of
  14. Thank you VM - very helpful post but have i pressed the funny button on the check out they want £7.95 for 10 ? Or is it me again on computers atb
  15. Shooting Bob and a lovely looking rifle.
  16. Uttings want £11-99 / tin of 500 jsb exacts 15.89 grain or £114 for 5,ooo,- 10 tins of 500.
  17. Looks good Chris all you need now is a magpie or similar. Bought that camera today to put some gun porn on here myself, when i`m taught how to is the next stage . atb
  18. Totally agree with the above post of John`s "on open land". Going back to shooting through any type of obstruction with the understanding that "so long as you gauge range correct and you do your bit, it will hit the target", yes, but what about all the obstructions along that flight path ? Too much room for error for me.
  19. I agree with much that has been said about calibers but it keeps coming back doesn`t it "trajectory". Simon`s post above identifies my long standing quirk - 40yd head shot on a rabbits head needs 1.5 to 2 inches of holdover (agreed). The .177, just put the crosshairs on the rabbits brain area (agreed). "On open land"! Imagine that rabbit, pigeon, squirrel amongst some hedgerow, undergrowth or spindle branches, if you place the crosshairs of the .177 on your quarry`s vitals that is where your pellet will strike "period". The .22 will need to be "lobbed
  20. On the Uttings website there are reviews on most pellets/ rifle combinations - there is some good reading.
  21. Ooooh , the dreaded calibre question again Hi HB, yep had the same problem myself, so i got one of each while i had the chance, HW 100 ks .22 and also HW 100 kt .177. My preference is the .177 kt - but that is just me. Any of the calibers are as lethal as each other, hitting the vital areas of your quarry is the ask. For me .177 12 days a week. atb
