  1. Shooting ftm and nice bag .
  2. Because a shotgun is not a section 1 firearm, a fac air rifle is as it fires a single projectile, so an fac is required. Yes Charlie i understand that, it`s just me having a bee in my bonnet over the years on fac air and owning shotguns for over 35 years , nothing else.
  3. C`mon big Mac you`ve bought a brand new, shiney Raider haven`t you- in .22 ? I just know he has ! 2,3,4 Oh tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree, it`s been three long years since it was "my Raider and me" "Just can`t tell you how much i love you `till you`re being unwrapped on my knee" ! The time is right my darlin` for you to come home to meee ! but if you stay on the bus, you`ll forget about us, i just want my "Raider and meeeee" !!! So tie that, yes tie that rib
  4. 1, I would want every last drop of energy i could legally have out of my "hunting air rifles" 2, I also agree that 10 ft/lbs would do the job. 3, The bit i "demand of myself" is damn good feildcraft and perfect practice. Perfect practice makes perfect accuracy (or as close as you yourself are capable of ). Field craft and accuracy are the trump cards in successful air gun hunting. Oh and Frisian, never attempt things with your rifles unless you are 110% sure of what you are doing - in this case i wouldn`t think twice about taking her to my expert gunsmiths.
  5. You`ve bought a Raider - you`ve bought a raider "in .177 i hope "
  6. Nice read, totally agree Rez and any rabbits, etc are a bonus. Where`s the bipod ? atb
  7. Have a quick toot in Hunting write ups at "TX 200 At Work. atb
  8. You most certainly made the right choice of rifle and calibre. To take the rifle`s and your accuracy levels to very high standards (if you may allow me) - put a bipod on her . 30 yds is nothing for this rifle, she will take rabbits at 50 + yards with ease. She loves Air Arms Fields 8.4 grain, - "very hard hitting and supremely accurate". atb
  9. Since treecreeper beat me to one of my fav` jokes (git) i`ll be serious. I`m a roofer (as you know) so i got my best magnifying glass out and counted the roof tiles on the long building opposite, i counted 67.5 tiles (took me three hours to get that count). OK, so 67.5 tiles divided by 3 = 22.5 yds (3 tiles to the yard) x 2 = 45 yds I would suggest your range finder is correct Rez and Treecreeper`s is up the duff
  10. Ditto to above, if i throw a house brick at your chest from 35 yds and it hits you with a force of 9 ft/lbs (figures sake) and then i throw half a brick the same distance to hit you with 9ft/lbs of kinetic energy - what is the difference ? 1, Trajectory 2, Velocity With a brick
  11. Hi Rez. got the blood brother of your pro sport, the T-Rex, no better, no worse, and knocking everything over.
  12. Ha, ha mate, my dog gets a stiffy when i shoot a few Any suggestions ?
  13. An "all day session" with a natural hide will be interesting with the T-Rex
  14. Well lads here`s the first springer session in two years - yesterday, for three and a half hours. I had to follow the pigeons and build a temporary hide, (which i hate doing) and took them off my cheapo shooting sticks , I`m buying Primos sticks very soon. All shot through the engine room or head at an average of 35- 45 yds with Air Arms 8.4 grain fields. The main tactic i use is "never" use plastic decoys as much as possible, only ever dead birds on cradles. The AA fields absolutely hammered home with the T-Rex. The corvid taken was dropped at 46 y
  15. Mmmm been wondering about the 100`s Nice shooting
  16. Oooh i don`t know, i`ve two cans of Skol 2.8 % "rocket fuel" left and yesterdays Indian leftovers to finish the night with ,- better than hares fecking stew .
  17. Three or four bottles of red before the sauce !!! FFKS You could sell hare stew to the Amazon indians for their poison fecking arrows
  18. If any game/ vermin is "wanted" for the table on a regular basis you will find it for sale in all the leading superstores. When did you last see Hare for sale in ASDA . Stayed at my best mates "nine`s" welsh for grandma, in Bodfari 40 years ago. She got a knock on the door and she bought a hare . She cooked it up for the next night`s tea, the house fecking stunk and we were both left "heaving for Wales" when we tried it . I can still smell and taste that fecker
  19. Yes mate - "each to their own" but i am just "gobsmacked" with the ability, accuracy and striking power of the T Rex.
