Bit Of Advice Please Lads
mark williams replied to dark-destroyer-85's topic in General Airgun Discussion
DD take a look at Ronnie Sunshine air guns on the internet, if you buy from them they "promise" to service and repair "for life" as long as you own the gun you bought from them. Take a look they have lots of very good offers and deals . atb -

Bit Of Advice Please Lads
mark williams replied to dark-destroyer-85's topic in General Airgun Discussion
DD £500 buys a lot of options. Calibre in sub 12 ft/lbs - .177 by a country mile ! (for me). Pcp means another £200 for bottle etc. Or springer, new if you wish, Air Arms, HW, best options - AA Pro Sport, T Rex 200 HC (awesome) or any HW -
Cheers Mark. I do indeed. Whatever PCP I get will be in 177 to be honest. The calibre suits them, Im not saying a 22 is bad by the way. Or any other calibre for that matter. I know that - enjoy your new rifle.
-
They are jealous Rez , if you want to treat yourself do so lad ( while your a calibre convert) eh ? .177 you say ?

Three matchsticks at right length, fill hole with wood glue, push in match sticks and re screw sling stud. Wipe clean with a damp cloth and leave to set, untouched for a few days or simply use a raw plug.(brown one).

Made in the USA eh ? That means "no safety catch then" Yes i know its by the trigger.

Ben - "no adaptor" does not sound right to me - sorry.

Can`t speak for night time but for day time the Hawke has been so ,so accurate. atb -
Hi random, took the TX out again since but didn`t bother to say. Took her to the farm yard for an hour and took four wood pigeon with four shots. Nothing special mind, she is just paying back very well . Outstanding springer to work with. My best tally for wood pigeon was last year with the HW 100 kt .177, i took 44 in one session of nearly 7 hrs but had no camera, this year is 18 and a corvid in 3- 31/2 hours with the T Rex and photographed.( Above first photo) atb

The Best Pellet For The Hw 100 .177.
mark williams replied to mark williams's topic in General Airgun Discussion
Hi Dave, i`ve used AA fields 4.52, 8.4 grain for over 2-3 yrs now and can snipe out a 5p target (indoors) to 40 yds but when i saw Si Pitterway snipe out a drawing pin head pellet on pellet at 40 meters and beyond "outdoors" well i had to ask the lads on here. Very kind offer Dave and "thank you" but the club has them all mate so no short supply , did you mean you "are" shooting RWS Super Fields by the way ? atb -
I was watching some of Si Pitterway`s reviews when i came across a couple of his videos on best pellet in the 100`s. At the end of the second video the RWS Super Fields 8.4 grain, 4.51 proved to be something special at 4o mts and well beyond.(drawing pin head at 40 mtrs) Does any of us use this pellet in their 100`s please ? - your thoughts ? atb p.s AA fields came 2nd at range (40 mts +) but 1st around 30 mts. JSB Exacts 3rd at range.

Proper shooting Jocky Excellent calibre choice too - eh Mac

Interesting stuff this is . Yep i`ve just spent over two years knocking the vermin for six on my permissions with the HW 100 kt .177. The lads on here were/ are getting a little fed up with the praise i was /am giving this gun . One thing stuck though,- "was i becoming a poor shot " for dropping springers, was suggested to me on and off, of here ? I bought the TX 200 springer (in .177) set her up and took her out as a back up rifle to my 100`s. I am having a shooting man`s love affair with this rifle and am giving

Very well put TT, If i resorted to taking a 65 yard shot (i would not mind you ) i would haul myself back to fieldcraft school. I try my best at all times to limit distance/ range with all the little tricks we learn over the years and take great pride if i can get myself within 30 yds. Mac`s post was bang on the money with this reasoning . When an air gun hunter knows his field craft, the air rifle becomes one very effective piece of equipment regardless of calibre "in open areas". In woodland my preferred caliber is .177 (as you know)

Interesting point TC , in what way ?

Nice one ftm, the call is a must , i like a bit of blue tac on the owls bill with a length of light fishing line attached and a "few downy feathers" attached to the end, tends to simulate the owl actively feeding and drives the corvids very angrily in, when there`s a dead bird at the owl`s feet. Gets me how they fall for the downy feather trick with a dead rabbit as well, must look like gut fur to them

I know i`m getting older but it`s getting bad when your sat there with your air gun mag` and a young, long legged mini skirt walks past you and your saying " feck me , look at that fecking rabbit ! ) -
A topic named "salad farm" featured a great thread from VM and energy retention down range. Basically an Air Arms 7.9 grain pellet shits all over all others in every dep`t, even a 10.3 grain jumbo. Take a look for yourselves,- i am seriously thinking of going to 7.9 express with my rifles.
-
Mitch please let me know the outcome of the 7.9 express mate - cheers. Mac 28yds is "middle or central stitch " 35 yds is "one stitch up" 40 yds is " 0ne and a half stitches up" The rest is " out of fecking range"

Saturday morning debate by David Dimberley Evans eh ? I`m in the same boat as VM lads - i too use both and both short rifles to boot (hides). My preference as you know is .177 as it allows me to thread shots through spindle and such like. If i am shooting open areas the HW 100 ks .22 is a devastatingly accurate rifle but i do practice my milldots on a regular basis. So it`s each to their own i suppose but a nudge to .177 for night shooting especially (but that`s just me). Hope it helps any.
-
Ditto to VM firstly . If it helps you any VW i much prefer carbine as i like to make and use hides as much as possible and it is much easier to handle the shorter version in cramped areas. atb

Your right Mac and it`s too early p.s.
