  1. It was wishful thinking mate, the photon is after all a budget pulsar, and your right, everything I have tried doesn't come close to the 870, but then they are close to a couple of grands worth ! Like to think it's priced to sell. Hope your on the mend and not in as much pain now.
  2. I bought this a few weeks back to try as I really liked the idea of how compact they are compared to my pulsars, I have tried it twice and don't like it, much prefer my pulsars so it's up for sale. Everything as it was bought, all the packaging etc etc, not much I can say apart from it doesn't have a mark on it and looks like new still as you would expect with approximately two hours use. £375 plus postage, recorded first class signed for, I think will be £11. I can send photos to anyone who is interested, but let's be hones, we all know what they look like, this one is no differen
  3. that's way off the mark they claim 50 ish mpg so would expect mid 40 mpg any other owners got mpg figures low 30's pretty bad that mate............i'd be wanting a bit more than that from a vehicle, as I get through a fair bit of mileage.......... cheers, jay. The new ones probably are near the 50 mark, I was very disappointed with mine when I got it on the mpg, for a small van it uses a fair drop of fuel, same as my ranger almost, but, it is always loaded, and my lads don't hang around, I think with less load and careful driving you could improve it a little, but certainly no where
  4. I have an 06 normal cab and I can't fault it, worst thing I can think of is it isn't as economical as I would like, possibly low 30,s
  5. Welcome, I prefer the wildcat, personally I think the Galahad is bloody ugly, I have had bad experiences with the wildcat but honestly believe mine is a one off, everyone, and I do mean everyone I speak to says theirs is excellent. Best advice, go and handle both of them, shoot them if you can and see which one you prefer, it's a personal thing and what suits one person may not suit the next.
  6. Interest withdrawn to lack of response, even though you have been online several times.
  7. Why would you want to stop a dog barking ? I encourage mine to bark at anything different or out the ordinary ? Is it a constant problem them barking through the night annoying neighbours or something ?
  8. I have the ranger, 2015 plate, 50k on it in its first year, no problems, handles off road well, but I chucked a decent set of at's on it as I tow every day, love towing with it, beat all the other pick ups hands down, and I tried the lot, the only other one I would have considered was the Isuzu. Depending on your terrain and what your going to be doing, the smaller engine rangers are weaker, my mate has one and has been through a few gearboxes and clutches now, he tows and says it's under powered and constantly thrashing it through the gears to keep moving, I went for the 3.2 and it tows l
  9. Be interested to see the hoodies mate, what size are they ? Email or text the pics if needed
  10. Eggs, foxes go mad for them round here
  11. I had an oil fired aga, it was only ever on tickover during the colder months, and it also heated the water, bloody thing used to burn oil like piper alpha, we used to nickname it the v8 it used so much, was one of the smaller ones as well. Since then we had a combi fitted, but we also have a wood burner with back boiler connected to it, it CAN be done, but not easy as its supposed to be a sealed heating system and the log burner can't run on a sealed system so you need a vented expansion tank.
  12. 6 ft ain't overkill, the bigger the better, I bought four heavy duty sheets of galv weld mesh for £60 (8 foot x 4 foot) and the rest was just odds and ends laying around, a bit of time with a disc cutter and welder, I have two traps for £60 plus sundries that look smart, work well, and will last my lifetime easily and probably the next generation as well. I built one with a pull cord to trip the door so I can tie chickens etc on, and built one with a floor plate so I can use eggs, foxes love eggs, I rate it as one of the best fox baits
  13. Thanks mole, but I have arranged to take it to a local range that also does gun smithing, they will chrono it for me so there can be no argument if it needs to go back, again !
  14. I've got one and never had a problem from new except one mag wouldn't index properly, rifle hasn't missed a beat and is more accurate than anything else I own.
  15. 4 foot will do the job, 5 is better. I built 2 traps, 6 foot long and two foot x two foot, had a fox last weekend and it looked tiny inside it. Another thing to be wary of, a fox will open the door if it does not lock shut, I learnt that the first night with my big cage, bait was gone, door had been tripped, no fox ! I built a locking bar that drops down and secures the door shut, never had a trap sprung and no fox since. Kind offer walshie.
  16. im not sure if the pva will do much.I read that it stops the ends drying quicker, than the rest of the stick stopping splitting at the ends ! time will tell i suppose . theres a good video on youtube of a guy heat bending the sticks with a wallpaper stripper ,worked really well .he piped it to some 6" round ducting, and put the sticks in the ducting with the steam and then he straightened them easily. Dan Steaming wood for bending is as old as the hills so it does work
  17. Ha, I will smash it to bits on a wall first, wouldn't wish this trouble on my worst enemy.Hard to tell with the photon, it looks to be doing ok, pissing down now though. The r10 has the 870lrf on and is sweet so don't wanna take that off. The extreme spread on paper looks perfect, but so did the test sheets that came back with it, don't understand why it's not doing it now, I will try another day scope on it as it's the only other thing I can think of. Can you chrono it yourself to eliminate bullshit from them ? Exactly what I was thinking,do you think perhaps they sent you a test card
  18. Ha, I have a mastiffxdane and she used to catch fallow like they were sloths, she was a bugger for it, never intentional but when we were out around the farm if she put one up it was usually nailed in the first field, if not the second, she took some quite big stags as well, thank feck she has got old and calmed down now, used to be a nightmare taking her out. Years ago I also had a black lab for beating and picking up, never forget been on a posh shoot and the keeper giving his morning speech that no guns were to shoot the deer, end of the first drive the lab had 3 munt ! Comment from a g
  19. It's guidelines, to keep them indoors, where practicable, not enforceable, you have to be able to show you have taken the utmost measures possible.. That can be netting pens, moving feed and water indoors, vibrating tape, etc etc
  20. I think that sums it up quite well
  21. I'd tried all sorts mate, Bradfords recommend some mounts, then a different set and then I thought after that there's no way I'm putting shims in lol. On the positive side I've now got the scope zeroed on the mounts so have the whole of the scopes zeroing feature if required when I'm on the ground. Plus I'm not having to worry about shims shifting etc I also now have a draw full of mounts for most occasions hahaha I looked at the atp66 mounts last week knowing I was going to be fitting the photon this weekend, they wanted £90 in the shop I was at, I found them for £70 online but needed an im
  22. Thanks viz but I want a .25, already have a .22 No probs , I noticed it was .22, just seen it & passed it on in case it was any good to you. Always appreciate a heads up, thanks.
  23. Glad you got it sorted, I fitted mine tonight, sod paying £70 for mounts, I shimmed mine within an inch with film negative.
