Typical, I have been up there several times in the last couple of weeks, no plans to go up in the near future though, if that changes I will let you know.
-
Won't be on this month (or next month as the ban is in force until Feb 28th, but could well be extended further). as there is currently a ban on all bird auctions, gatherings and shows due to the avian flu outbreak.

Ha ha, no jumping on the bandwagon from me, I said from the day I picked mine up from the shop it was shit. It has now been returned to ASI for further investigation, they didn't actually say it but they as good as asked if I had taken it apart and tried to up the power ! Chrono results were piss poor over 10 shots...... Be interested to know what you have been reading about the smooth twist barrels as I have only heard good things about the wildcats.

Same here but the only add on i liked was the Ward D-700 , they have a new one out the 800 But £800 ,for that you can pick up a second hand Pulsar 870LRF I found the add one a right pain, and such an awkward shooting position, I had to move the scopes to get a better position, it was no longer an add on as I was changing scope every time ! Hence I went dedicated in the end and never looked back.

For Sale Photon Doubler And Adaptor
Rabid replied to shooting.123's topic in Optics and Night Vision
No, you would need the 50mm -
Wow, that is a big disparity. I've got to admit the more I've learnt and read since starting, the more I think your just as well getting a second hand one once you've had a good look at it. It seems to me far to many have to take back brand new guns because they aren't right, if there not right out of box when should they be? Someone has to buy new or there would be no secondhand to go around ! I like the peace of mind from a shop, if it's not 100%, back it goes.

I tried add ons, and ones with a screen, couldn't get on with either, dedicated is certainly the way forward for me, would have liked something lighter and not so bulky than the n870lrf, hey ho, it works well, and the range finding is awesome.

Talking of fx (not the impact) I sent one of my wildcats back today as I just could not get it to group, run it over a chrono and it was running between 11.2 and 12.8 over 10 shots

I had heard this today, and I think the biggest problems are the sub12 guns, but as stated, I would expect better for the price tag that comes with them.
-
Yeah it's very nice eh, something different to the norm. I do hope this one stays as one of a kind my thoughts exactly when I saw it.

I just looked at the right time mate, am pleased I did Makes a change pal, it's usually me who misses the good stuff.
-
To be honest, I never really go above 9 or 10, even on the scopes that can.
-
That's nice, yes please.

Was the lab pup ok...? He was, my brother was more concerned with him than me. TC Good brother, that would have been me !
-
That was a proper close call tc, a few fingers missing may not seem it, but a small price to pay. In lower school (no idea how old I was) we were going to the game dealers one night delivering some deer and went round a wet bend in dads car, slid on the road and was hit head on by an artic, car was minced, parents were both hospitalised for 3-4 months, I had smashed legs and arm, brother next to me was out cold with a few injuries, I thought both mum and dad were dead, was a bad time. At 12 we were down the river one summers day and my mate was throwing stones in for his family lab dog

I have a doubler that I used on my 550, for rabbits on the rimmy it was needed, but for air rifle use I found it better without it.

Rabid replied to big napper's topic in Optics and Night Vision
now I found the n550 a heavy bulky unit with about the same range & quality of vision as the photon; each to there own but that was my opinion. They are bulky mate, I always said its the price you have to pay for Nv, but it seems these photons are not far behind if not as good, hence am considering trying one. -

they handle short range well; if you can get on with putting your eye right into the scope then they really are fantastic mate Yeah, am used to that with my pulsars, I was concerned with the higher mag on these how good close range ratting would be. I thought my n550 was good until I got the 870, it knocks spots off them. One thing I like about these photons, they are more conventional scope like, smaller and I would imagine lighter, they also look quite user friendly compared to al the gizmos on the pulsar. -
Anything upto 100 yards will do me for this one, don't get me wrong, I can see rabbits at this range but the pic isn't as clear as I would like. What's the difference between nm400 and the nm400 ? ?
-
As above, what's a decent scope to you ? I have a drawer full of scopes I don't like/use, one mans rubbish and all that .........
-
whats up with them rabid?!Just not grouping as I would like, certainly not a patch on my regal, yet, am still leading them in.mine grouped ok but not great at fist so i did a couple of pull throughs, which improved the group and yesterday i moved the photon back for better eye relief ...so i had to re zero and the groups are full mag through the same hole but its had nearly two tins of sovereign's through it since! I have cleaned and cleaned the barrel to 'within an inch of its life' as bry would say, I have not put anywhere near that through mine yet, not managed a half decent day with no wi

Fair play bry, I had been looking at this since it first went up and couldn't decide if I should or not, decided earlier I would have it, came on and you got it, be interested to know how it copes with close range, is 20 yards ish. -
I run a pulsar n870lrf, as with most of these units the built in ir is pants, so looking for the best torch/scope combo to give the best picture, also what pill as I have read about so many different things it's fried my swede. I have also noticed a lot of my perms are getting used to my current ir torch (cheap chinky thing) so can I look at a different wavelength with no visible glow ? Are they any good. Thanks. Rob.
