  1. About time the tide started turning
  2. I would add to that 'in the predominantly black areas'. Back in the mid 80's I lived on the outskirts of Peckham, South London, and noticed a sudden and marked growth in ownership of pit bulls, not only by black people but whites as well. Mostly younger lads about 18 - 25, some older, but obviously bought to enhance their 'street cred'. I recall being out shopping with the wife in Rye Lane, and went into the covered market. Whilst she was shopping I stood away and noticed a young black lad standing there with his chest puffed out, arm outstretched holding a lead with a cracking young pit
  3. Lovely fish kev1987, brought back a few memories for me used to love fishing for them on the Kennet years ago, using a centrepin and chubber float. Great days indeed.
  4. Just asked my mum where it was we went years ago with all the deer. Completely forgot about the place. Always known it as knole park not Greenwich. They're two different places, Knole Park is on the outskirts of Sevenoaks, and Greenwich Park is Greenwich.
  5. About 10 years ago, they used to love the younger leaves on my grape vine. I was aware that the leaves were getting munched, but didn't know the culprits. I then started finding 'pellets' on the table, and wondered what was leaving them, sometimes there would be 8-10. I only found out by going out in the very early hours (darkness) with a small torch, and it was like 'come dine with me'. You wouldn't believe how quickly the EHM can devour young grape leaves, small wonder they were dropping all those pellets. Could never spot them during daylight. I had to renew the covered pergola roof and
  6. Yep... dangerous dogs those Staff's
  7. I think it may be because they are incompetant and unable to comprehend animal welfare. It matters not a jot to them if animals are disfigured or killed in their care, as they sweep the facts under the carpet. They are just focussed on swelling their coffers through successful prosecutions and putting it in the media limelight where it grabs the attention of bunny huggers and little old ladies with lots of donation money. Hope your case eventually shows the donators exactly what these a**eholes are really about.
  8. Last fox we dropped had a lapwing in it's mouth.... maybe the lapwing was looking for the berries
  9. What an irritating woman PMSL..
  10. Didn't he used to be Ronald McDonald?...
  11. Seems they are all in cahoots with each other, the whole episode stinks.. Independant should mean independant.. I take it there will come a time when this debacle gets fed to the media? hope they all get what they deserve.
  12. The first coloured boots I recall were back in 1969, Stylo Matchmakers they were called, and they were purple with side lace-ups.. otherwise known as Georgie Best boots. Couldn't afford them though. First pair of football boots I got were bought by my mother at a school jumble sale (about 1961/62) and were brown, and you had to dubbin them. Normally a stud or two would fall out during a game, but was easily replaced as they were nailed in, and every cobbler/shoemender sold them
  13. Just made Corned Beef Hash for dinner tonight Had to add my little twist, always cook a few extra roast spuds on sunday, mix with leftover veg and make a bubble out of it. Put the hash into ovenproof dishes, top with the bubble mix, top that with grated mature cheddar and a few slices of tomato and into the oven for it to heat up and the cheese to melt.. lovely grub. Do love homemade steak and kidney pudding or pie.. pretty much anything homemade. The wife's idea of doing the cooking involves opening packets or jars
  14. Lot 97 paid for. Good luck to Dymented
  15. Nobody does pomp like us... fact. Good to watch.
  16. Nice photos, especially like the first one of the dog with the bunny... the look on that bunny's face is priceless.
  17. Was sitting having a cup of tea under the covered pergola and saw this damselfly having a wander around the table.. think there's something wrong with it as it made no attempt to fly off. Is it a green or azure?
  18. Great news indeed. I wonder if they will install a CCTV surveillance camera to monitor it, same as the one opposite the Stephen Lawrence plaque a couple of miles away.
  19. Any old coarse fisherman want a trip down memory lane? I'd like to donate this Mordex split cane rod. I stripped and renovated it about 3 years ago. 10' 4", so I suspect it has lost a few inches from the top at some time in it's life, but it still has a good through action. Agate lined tip and butt rings, with chromed intermediates. Comes with home-made rod bag. I will pay for postage UK.
  20. This video might be of use to you.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Elw9DRli904
  21. Signed.. What a dodgy underhand bitch. Seems it's her personal vendetta and trying to make a name for herself. Got no time for any of them.
  22. My mate did that some years ago, and the printer at work packed up and they changed it
