I fished for years and never had a 20lb carp, so bought the bivvy and all the trimmings and set about it. Managed 3 topped by a 24lb 4oz common, but the best part of the trip was as the sun was going down I'd pop open a bottle of red and sit there watching the bats taking the mosquitos... good times. Used to do 3 days at a time so, 3 bottles

suppose I am guilty really with my 2 dogs, Buck my young dog loves people +dogs, he just loves to play with them , so i let him off the lead to mix with other dogs. Don't get wrong if somebody had a dog on the lead, i would keep mine back and its my other dog might be bit funny and even then he not a dog to start a fight. my wife don't agree with me and thinks i should not loose him of the lead with other dogs, because of his size+strenght if he did kick off he be very hard to stop , she might be right. But he 2 year old and never shown any aggression to any dog or person, so why shoul

That's it lads, keep them coming, I find it interesting knowing what others get up to... I'm a nosey b*stard @ Paulus, when I take photos of my paintings, they never do the paintings justice, colours don't quite come out as per the original. I use a Nikon D60 on a tripod, due to old wobbly shaky arms. Have tried flash on ?(useless) flash off (as per these photos), portrait setting(same as flash off). I try not to get the sun behind as it shows up the frame... any tips?

The rabbits are well under control at my permission, so I don't get down there so much lately. I know some do pest control as a job, and not as a hobby/passtime. Just wondered what others do alongside hunting? I used to make solid hardwood furniture for a while and I go coarse fishing occasionally, nowhere near the amount I used to. When I retired I had a go at watercolour painting for a while but that faded away when I started hunting. I have recently started having a go with oil paints and canvas. I asked permission off one of the dog men on here if I could use some of his photos for ref

The wife is related (cousins from her mums side) to the King's. Told her the only King she's related to is King f**king Kong

I reckon we are all related in some way to somebody famous, or in your case notorious , if they go back far enough. Just had another glance at the scroll, and it turns out one of my relatives is buried in Westminster Abbey... Robert Stephenson, son of George, so that'll be 1st cousin 4 times removed I wonder if they'll let me go in and lay some flowers... and not have to pay the £18 entry fee

All I can say is that I must have been very very lucky with my old staff, but then when out walking he was always on a lead, being controlled. When I used to exercise him, he would stay on the lead until I deemed it OK to release him. This was not because he was aggressive, but because other owners would let their dogs do as they pleased, and NO dog is 100% predictable. If an unleashed dog started to head towards mine, I would call mine back to the lead and shout to the owners to call thier dog. Had a few rows with irresponsible owners.

Back in 1972, one of my cousins via my mothers side, won a prize for a competition from a national newspaper and said prize was to have some of her family tree traced. Just had a look at one of the copies of it and the first date entered on it is 1779, so not very far back. It goes back another generation, but it is not detailed, probably because they had come across a famous distant relative. Bit of a cop out really as it says " This generation is not necessarily listed in order of birth, nor is it necessarily complete". Pity really as there is a reference to a Robert Stephenson, 'groom'

Just 'googled' 1975 Capri JOT 11P and seems after I got rid, it was used in an episode of The Chinese Detective... NOT the car, the numberplate seems it was put on a Mustang and used as a background prop...

After I got rid of the Escort, I had a 'orange' Capri with black vinyl roof, just the basic 1600, steering got a bit light though if you went over mph... lots of room around that engine for the wind to get under the bonnet. It had just had a respray before I got it, f*cking thing was rotten as a pear

Aint't that the truth..

Ford Anglia 997, bought in 1972 for £25, painted with Crown+2 'Chinese Blue'.... Good car to learn in though. Number plate was worth more than the car **** MG. First half decent car I got was a 1974 red Ford Escort 1300 XL in 1975

Neighbours can be rather annoying in their ignorance. I have 3 adjoining neighbours, 2 of them have put out bird feeders for the songbirds. Only thing is that there are numerous magpies in the vicinity, and a couple of local squirrels. While the smaller birds were nesting in the surrounding suitable trees, the magpies were incessantly doing the rounds, chasing away the blackbirds, robins and tits. Twice I saw magpies carrying chicks they had robbed. All that their feeders attract are feral pigeons and also the magpies. But these people never sit out in their gardens so never see what birds

Got to say well done to the lad, but leave a few for the old fellow

I think a staff is a good call. Generally very good natured around people, kids and other dogs, provided they haven't been pre-owned by a knobhead. Superb companion, short coat. If looking at a staff, I would advise trying it on a lead first, mine would pull like a train as soon as he was put on a lead, old chap wouldn't be able to handle it.

Brother had a greyhound years ago, excellent on the lead, no pulling good as gold. Although it did bring in a white rabbit one morning after my mother let it out for a s**t. Had YAH tattoo in one ear, but can't find anything on t'internet about it, would have been about 1970ish.

Do love a bit of Greek food myself. Had a Greek night out the back garden a few years back, about a dozen people, bought a lamb and made Kleftiko out of lamb shoulder, moussaka, dolmades using some leaves off my grapevine, beef stefado and lamb shish kebabs, some dips, olives, greek salad, flatbread etc even finished with greek coffee and ouzo... absolutely beautiful. I reckon you have to eat the 'proper' food (as opposed to tourist grub) of a country whichever you visit.. don't think I could go with some of that Vietnamese food though.. fetal duck eggs, yuk.

Max, it let me watch it without signing in to facebook.. It would seem it was filmed in Green Street, in East London... a road that runs up alongside Upton Park, must be loads of old east enders turning in their graves. I've got an uncle I never had the chance to meet lying in the soil of the war cemetary in Carbonara Di Bari, Puglia, Italy put there at the age of 19, another uncle who used to show me his extra belly buttons, scars from bullets... just a few of the many who fought for this country... what a f**king waste that this is being allowed to happen now.

Don't think it's a horse mackerel/scad as it's eye is too small, and there is normally a dark/black spot on the edge of the gill plate. Long front dorsal does resemble king mackerel, but to be honest I don't know, One thing for sure, it would have been grilled on the BBQ (in the interest of identification)

It's not only phones bird. I am retired, and spend a nice day doing whatever I please, nice and peaceful like. I prepare and cook a meal for when she gets in from work. Like you, I sometimes want to watch something on the box. That is when her sixth sense kicks in, and she comes and stands at the door prattling on about her day, and she never learns, cos every time she does it I tell her to f**k off and find someone who might be the least bit interested. Just after 7pm she phones the woman she's been working with all day and gossips with her for an hour, why does their jaw always have to be mo

Nice shooting VM, looks like you've got enough there for quite a few portions of Rabbit Stefado and Rabbit with Cider and Mustard Casserole. I must admit I only usually shoot up to 45 yards, but did take a rabbit last year at 65 yards, clean headshot. Only took it because I had shot at a mark on the large tree about 2 yards behind where the bunny appeared, and all I did was re-aim at the mark and count off the mildots for holdover and windage to where the pellet hole in the bark was.. with my HW100 .22 btw. Once you know your hold overs, they are a pleasure to use. I will shortly be
