Just like to ask what if any is the biggest problem a cocker can present when out in the field, (heard they can be bad for hunting up too far ahead ?), i am interested in this breed as a working companion for my young lurcher and to take out on long coastal/country walks
Nuttal was from the clitheroe area saw a few run from his kennels many years ago also andy baron from gisburn bred these approx 90s saw a very good 3/4 cross run a few times.Nuttal from holmes chapel is the terrier breeder i think.
I seen one of the Andy Barron dogs what a friend from Stoke on Trent bought it was crap at its job and I think there was more deerhoundxgreyhound bred in me than that dog.it just looked like a lurched to lurched cross you wouldn't of thought there was deerhound in it.one of the fastest 1stxs I ever seen was axel from the lurchermania video run from Northumberland.th
Was that the shooting news writer from glasgow? who was on about heading off to live in caithness?
That's him mate, he used to send pups down on the train from caithness, did'nt know he was from glasgow though. I met a lad in northumberland who had a first cross that he'd had sent down as a pup, was'nt like the racy brindle or black dogs that i was used to seeing, this one looked more like a pure deerhound
Like the sound of these soup kettles, do they come with a recipe book. Heinz beef broth with pasta and a chopped pepper with cheese, onion, tomato, ham, and marmite toasties
There is a gwp x grey on the lampers dvd, the lad was working it as a wildfowling dog, was only young on the dvd i saw, but it struggled for agility when running the rabbits, remember the lad saying it turned like a double decker bus
Good stuff Dave, very interested in restocking of land myself, a lot of the land where i went coursing when i was younger does'nt hold a single hare these days thanks to overlamping, and hare drives, it's a sorry sight to see the fields devoid of hares
Who needs street cred when they're walking the windy fields ? Lol, there is one of them next street over from me, who was running around in the street picking rubbish up after the wind blew the wheelie bins over, with the back of his skirt tucked into his knickers pmsl
Buy cheap, buy twice, stick to the tried and tested stuff mate, you'll only end up spending more money than you need to, too much gimmicky garbage on offer these days
Go to the beach, dig a hole in the sand, burn some wood on large stones, put hot stones in hole with venison wrapped in foil on top then fill hole with sand, leave to cook, while preparing a sauce of your choice, and dont forget your flagon of ale
Was looking at the mighty fine christmas cakes in the bakery the other day and on asking the price £4.60 was the reply, or we've got these slices for a quid which i accepted, i'll be going back for the big un very soon
