  7. I’ve mentored loads of people , got nearly forty people their fist deer and most without cost , but a hundred and twenty mile round trip using a 4x4 must cost him the thick end of thirty quid , larder time and his equipment and what’s left of £40 ...about enough to buy breakfast ..his time is priced at nothing , £40 for a days stalking at today’s rates IS for nothing ..
  8. 5000 ton farmed venison ..the supermarkets want consistency age ,colour , and supply and it’s definitely haveing a big impact on the wild market price . Shooting the odd one or two a week to give away or sell privately is not a problem , when your shooting a lot more than that there are all sorts of handling storage and hygiene problems . On one of my places not shooting them is not an option and the landowner needs there numbers and damage they do kept down to a sustainable level , the level he considers sustainable is way way higher than most farmers would tolerate but this will still

  16. I bought loads of those bergere chairs , especially the ones with the cane damaged , my wife taught herself how to re cane them and she would always have one on the go in the shop .The amount of times people would stop and watch & then end up ordering it when it was finished or bringing in chairs they had for repair , few years back now but I’m sure it worked out 50p a hole .. The sofa’s where a nightmare but you could buy them for pennies if they were damaged , I would clean and re polish the wood and she would re cane it , and an upholsterer who rented space in the shop sorted

  18. They would definite had a discussion about what to have used first , the .22 boys would have been there as back up in case the .177 didn’t cut the mustard .. Must be un nerving to know if you come up against the SAS you will only ever be in second spot , and the only thing they dish out for second spot is a large wooden box ...well done that man !
  19. My pal kept chicken at his council house for thirty odd year , 7 or 8 layers which kept him and his mate next door in eggs . He had them in a good run and was on the first sign of the inevitable vermin interest ..I don’t think anyone even knew they were there .He did have a tidy sized garden though .
