The rut seems all over the place at the moment , one estate has started the other one not a sound . We managed three yesterday but it was hard work , nothing was out early after three hours and only seen a doe and fawn , This one from a seat , I shot another on the way to the seat ..

Will this include farm reared animals ? ..most of the “trophy” hunting is farm reared , once these get closed down the natives will soon put paid to the wild stock , it’s not trophy hunters feeding china’s insatiable appetite for quack rhino horn / tiger remedies and the back street ivory carving business....

Couple of years back I had an American fella out as a favour to a pal of mine , we had our first fallow down by 7am , our second by 8,30 and his third by 9.15 ..gralloched and in the chiller by 11 am ..he could barely eat breakfast he was that excited , given he was telling everyone in the cafe in great detail all about our “hunting “trip , assuming everyone in there was keen on hunting as we were , he completely missed the tut tuts , frowns & head shaking of several woman .. Late after noon we was sat up in a seat where he got number four , he could have got five but was still realay

I have the 420 , 2or 4 wheel with manual drive , it’s a 2008 , I bought it with just 601 hours from new , had a couple of cracks in the plastic ( I think it was rolled ) but no real damage it was 6 years old when I bought it , cost me £2600 , I have it serviced every year and it’s a tool , my pal bought the same model with close on 2000 hrs on it for £2950 ( these were not road legal ) and it drives exactly the same as mine ..Look about there are some low hours / miles ones about ..mine was used by a stables to rake the indoor sand school once a week ..
