I’ve shot hundreds apon hundreds of deer , I’ve never heard one run of screaming ..never heard one make any noise I can remember ..I’ve lost count of the deer I’ve despatched as rta’s , never heard them make a sound either ..

Half the people posting on there are so blinkered its amazing they can see to shoot the deer ! Like most sites there’s some sound knowledgable lads that do the job and know how all the other sports work and respect it .Sadly there’s a ton of keyboard stalkers that get out twice a year , have every piece of paper qualification known to man all the latest kit and the biggest know all opinions , unfortunately this is normally coupled with a big gob and a small addled brain ..

East Sussex £10 k an acre for any sort of land , good pasture with road frontage think of a number, the horse owners would kill there parants for it ..absolute mad money .Trouble is they stopped making land a few years back but more and more people want a bit ...my pal just sold 34 acres he owned separat from his farm to the man who owns the house the land surrounds , three years ago he turned down £400k for it , he hasn’t said what the guy ended up paying but he desperately wanted it ..

It’s about getting the right balance , you don’t want to many that they strip the undercover and loose bird and small mammal habitat , which is what I have on my permissions , the roe have been driven out by the fallow after being left to breed unhindered , getting numbers down to sustainable numbers is difficult at best and nigh on impossible at times ..a lot will depend on your neighbours stance on deer control , one of our next door neighbours won’t cull at all and quite often during the day you can see upwards of three hundred fallow laying out in his 100odd acres , and then they

A book by Richard Prior , Trees and Deer will tell you just about everything you could want to know on the subject mate ..from what to plant ,how to plant , how to protect what you plant , what attracts deer , management of deer and everything in between ....well worth a read or just as a reference point ..

The rspca have changed a lot in 40 years mate , back then they were an animal rescue charity to day they are a money making politically motivated bunch animal rights activists that care more about getting old girls to leave them money and keeping themselves in work , the rescuing and saving animal side is a bi product that they sell to the gullible to keep the dollars rolling in .. Nice , but I can’t see that being on a par with my old YZ125 , riding round the place with no engine noise you must loose half the fun ..we used to ride ours round what is now Lakeside and the huge housing estate ..at the time it was a disused cement and gravel workings , we had some spills over there ..
