    Both - ran it this year, and got my name down for next year. This years was my 4th - always a great day out, although the pain on the Monday morning is a bit scary.

    I'd end up with half the local wino population invading my garden for a free drink if I did that Slugs would beat them to it,but if it's that rough where you are a yeast and water mix will do the same job It could be an interesting contest if nothing else ! I think I'll try the yeast/water mix - I know I have yeast in the cupboard, a little low on cheap supermarket lager though *hic*

    ^ agree The diet sounds like it is going to be fine in calcium levels - adding extra is more likely to cause problems, than be of benefit. If they are just eating mince, rather than having bone/wings/ribs/dried food as well, then that is where the calcium levels would need a boost.

    Sounds healthy - lean meat, no grain, no carbohydrate. Being a dry food - should keep your teeth in decent condition too - save on toothpaste Let us know how it tastes !

    I tried that last year - the slugs are back already this spring. I put the slugs from the veg plot into a bucket, and chuck them in the garden - the chooks eat what they want, other birds eat the rest before the slugs can make it from the centre of the grass to the safety of the edges !

    Chances are it will pass - I'd be adding some oil to the meals for the next few days, make sure it all passes through. If dog starts vomiting, or looking unwell, need to get it checked though, in case it has caused a blockage. I wouldn't be making it vomit now though.

    I feed 4 times a day at that age - barf and veg, with a dried feed in the evening until they are 6 months or so, then just barf and veg. As pups, I let them eat as much as they want for 5 mins per feed, then take the bowls away. If they are still hungry, I'll add a 5th feed rather than let them eat more at each sitting. Once they are 10-12 months old, they are having about 3% of their bodyweight in food.

    Cheaper dog foods have lower quality protein sources, and are bulked out with stuff the dog can't digest well, like rusk, grain and ash etc - thats why you need to feed more, and they produce loads more shit to clear up. I've used Field and Trial stuff before, it's VAT free, so cheaper than some of the standard dog food ones, but I feed raw at the moment.
