Pup Drooling When In Car, Any Cures ?
LaraCroft replied to thefensarefarbutistillgo's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Build it up gradually - if it is 200yards to a walk, then do it - the more non drably experiences the better. Each time there is dribble, it is a negative experience. Short journeys frequently - build it up slowly -

If you stop the journey before they start dribbling and getting stressed, they have a "good experience" - repeat that, and you will be able to extend the journey. Each time they get stressed and dribble, they reinforce a negative experience.Patience is the key. -

Why the ginger biscuit - and how does that work... ginger is a natural anti-emetic - great for sickness of all sorts, but especially morning sickness and travel sickness, which are caused by the same part of the brain :-) -

ginger biscuits, and short journeys - drive til she looks like she is uncomfortable, then stop - reinforce good behaviour. -

Much as I don't like the "big brother" concept of having them monitor stuff like that - it can work in your favour. Last summer I got a call from the bank asking about my card, and security etc, because there had been " unusual activity " noted on it, which got flagged up on their system, so they phoned to check what's happening. Earlier that morning I had had a call from my sister, who had been at the hairdressers, having cut/colour/all sorts of unnecessary faffing crap done to her hair. She had swapped handbags that day ( more than 1 FFS ? what is that about ? ) and had not got her purs

1 in 1000 kids getting measles will die - it was having the vaccine that meant it was almost irradicated, until ( as BB said ) that doctor put a link to autism, and lots of parents were put off having their kids vaccinated ( rightly so, they made the best choice they thought at the time ) and it made a big come back. People forget how much of a problem this disease was, because for so many years now, it hasn't been seen. I've seen 5 cases in my nursing career - 1 child died, and 1 was left with ongoing lung problems afterwards.

metacam - pain killer and anti-inflammatory, or rimadyl - same sort of thing.

Thank you - yes, he was a great dog - powerful and fast. Couldn't turn tight for toffee, but his speed made up for it.

Lovely ! I'm missing the fluffy eared duo though....

I know what you mean patterdalejoel - but my lad was 34" TTS, so plucking him really wasn't an option - I'd have been there all summer. Clipping took 20 mins, another 15 with scissors to neaten the face/legs. I'm not saying it is right or wrong, but worked for me. I can't say I am a fan of plucking coats, or horses manes - it maybe just me, but I can't see it is comfortable or necessary. Not dissing those that do - just my opinion.

yeah i've read these excuses, they don't wash with me. if you can't stop a dog mounting random bitches, running off or pissing in the house you shouldn't have a dog at all,and that sort of person certainly imo couldn't be trusted to then look after and nurture a dog which has just had such a massive change made to their hormone levels. as for the cancer argument,it's just silly imo. you can get cancer in your eye,why not get one eye removed? half the chances. Each time a cell divides, there is a risk of mutation causing cancer. If the cells don't divide much, the risk is lower. Th
