  1. Shoo some of the buggers down to Merseyside, they are almost the stuff of myth & legend here..!
  2. Same here mate, this is a litter I've a genuine interest in..

Welcome back Plumbs..! Now you can teach me how to work all these Mod thingy type buttons...
  4. Fantastic pics mate, I gather you've reared it from practically the off... When I was a kid me mum reared two but both became a handful well before that age and were turned loose.
  5. About 20 years back I went to Gary for a terrier, i'd known him about 6 or so years then, "You'll be wanting a worker then Paul", he said. I must have looked puzzled and he added..."Not a film star"..! Gary has always bred two types of dog, though his lookers can produce workers...
  6. Brilliant...!!! I'm sure sales will soar with all the scrotums on here that love making life painful for themselves..!
  7. Drop Macy off here a pm, he's called more foxes than anyone I know, i'm sure he'd help.

    london

Yep, in plenty of ways no different than any city but I like the place, love the history there and enjoy my all too infrequent visits.
  9. Used to be a big bull cross that was a hermaphrodite, born of both sexes. I never seen it but i'm reliably told it was a beast of a thing but had a skitzo nature about it and was only kept as a guard.
  10. A lurcher mate... Only because it ain't that all purebred in that mix, though 'the old whippet' comes in various 'guises' and is a long way removed from the breeding a greyhound has, so even these little fellas sometimes ain't all that 'purebred', if ya choose ya whippet wisely.....
  11. Maybe your dead right mate, 2nd gens ain't everyones cuppa but brought on right and from the right stuff, I like 'em but it's only my opinion. I suppose its all about what you want from a dog. As I said, 'my' next step would be to look to lurcher to lurcher bred dogs, not purebreds....
  12. Bout 15 or so years back, lost a couple of mates when they 'spun out' on an all nighter... Bout 7 years back, a mate was up-ended as a fox bolted from cover and he got too close and spun round to keep a lamp on it... Two big dogs followed, up-ended him and fractured his skull, badly... At one point, on the way to Hosp, I really didn't think he'd make it, an i've seen enough shite like this, believe me..!
  13. Read your original question mate, though this last post don't make sense to me, Producing better bull crosses... blah de blah etc.. You know that..! It's only my opinion but you can't produce a better bull cross than a good second generation first cross, especially if the blood is tight. What I think your askin is, what would be the better cross after it.. Or, where do we go from there..?? Well if ya ain't, or don't want, to stick with those halfs and maybe need a bit more speed, then i'd go lurcher to lurcher bred dog before any greyhound. I've posted on this a few times, before i'd look t
  14. Strange to see this thred after so long, I was talking to Simoman only last week about Minshaw bull crosses and was saying that back when bull crosses where in there infancy, a few in the NW tried mixing 'em with Minshaws. The results, from what i've seen, where always bloody good and I owned two myself, both out of the Obo dog. Though as bull crosses gained in popularity and Minshaws faded this cross dissapeared. Shame, never seen a bad one...! Oh yer and about that dog I just got, posted back in 2010 on this thred, he's the same way bred.. (so i'm told..!) and he's still here...!!

    eaten fox

Got a mate thats tried both fox and badger, said they were awful and he's a decent enough cook... As for feeding 'em to dogs, Bert Gripton said he regularly fed his dogs fox, said it helped if they become trapped underground but his dogs wouldn't touch badger flesh...
  16. The two I've seen were racey enough, one very so and both from F1's.
  17. Every time I look upon this thred i'm always met by photos of stunning hounds and I always think to myself... 'One day soon'...! Crackin dogs Karlsberg & Cocker...

Very best wishes on a speedy recovery mate, speak soon...
  19. Think everyone has hit the nail on the head in some form or other here. Birddog, from what i've read somewhere there is a theory that the hare was originally a forest dweller and mans interference and subsiquent clearing of the forest pushed them onto open ground, no different than red deer. Certainly round here hares live 70% of there time in woodland and only venture out after dark, though to be fair, most are on fecking vallium due to year round hunters, so I'll discount them...! As for which preditor, i'd go as far as to say just about every one, just about every preditor that has inhabit
  20. I give up on fractions, best left to drug dealers. After a 5/8ths I'd simply call 'em lurchers...!
  21. thanks Bosun, whats it called? 'Rebecca The Lurcher'
