  1. Thunder Heart, a film starring, as well as Val Kilmer (none Indian), Graham Green and Ted Thin Elk. Loosely based on the Wounded Knee Incident in 1973, its a great film, with little sentiment nor nostalgia on events more recent and well worth a watch.
  2. Any more info on the sex book...!
  3. I'd totally agree with Desertbred on prey drive and the other stuff on his post. I was always told never recall a puppy if it is busy with something, give it a minute more, move or adjust your position and wait till the pup looks at you, recall and praise or/and reward. In doing this the puppy will never 'learn' to deaf you out, as dogs can do, it comes because it wants to and it will forever associate a recall with praise or reward. All good...! Take your youngster out to somewhere where it can roam safe, sniff and lark about. Take your time and choose the moment with recall's, soon
  4. That would be my choice to, cracking piece of kit for clearances and saplings.
  5. I've owned two over the years, neither I raised from a pup, both bitches, both giveaways. To be honest both were very good animals, full on, good hunters, tackle anything and very intelligent. Both had great shapes, fast enough and robust, something that has always appealed to me with Hancock dogs. Sadly, each came with a style or a quirk that didn't suit me, or I could change easily and so I found them homes to which they were better suited (work wise) and their owners were very pleased. One went to an old boy green keeper on a golf course, scaring rabbits and collecting balls. The ot
  6. Both sides issues are at the back, 3 -2 to the blues
  7. I think the best ferret I had was a sandy Jill, came off the old keeper in Lord Derby's, like Gnipper's the line was generations (human) long. He gave me a sandy Jill and a poley Hob. The Jill was a great ratter and rabbiter and had a fantastic manner about her, really laid back. To be fair the Hob was a decent rabbiter too. I put both together and kept the line for over ten years and they were all good.
  8. Not the subject matter I was hoping for with a title like that but bloody good pics Kay.
  9. I think thats the problem, too many think that's what a working terrier 'should' look like and breed for it regardless of working ability. All fueled by some of the names mentioned..!
  10. That's very true Gnash, your dead right. Funny though ain't it, I couldn't even bring myself to watch that clip, sommat inside says leave it... Maybe I'm just getting soft in my old age...
  11. NO, it was set in the sixties when terrier work was untouched and appreciated. But yet they did a whole episode about "badger baiting" in which lads dug badgers in the middle of the night wearing balaclavas. What a load of crap. Their researchers must have been drunk or high or just couldn't be bothered doing some actual research. Spot on Neil, Heartbeat was used, as is/was many others as a vehicle to spread Anti propaganda, all cloaked behind the local village and its charming residents, with it's local 'rascal' poacher playing the staring role. Same as that nicey nice Forever
  12. Is always a good shout, bags of fun, dead easy going. If it was alright for Prince William, its all right for anyone!
  13. Great stuff REW, looks like Gem has made a great start. Best of luck with her.
  14. Though I'd agree with Stabba, if it's on there run it. I've seen a few heavy dogs put their backs out on plough, though in most cases they've either charged on to it full pace off flatter fields, or never walked, never mind ran it, before! Plough's the same as any other land, first off your dog needs to know that type of ground and secondly, one dog may do well where another dog does badly.
  15. Should be worth a listen but tinkering with tracks that didn't make the original album is a bit of a con IMO, oh yer feck Rodger Waters, that fella should have made up with the others or fecked clean off years ago....
  16. I'd agree with that Neil, the fish fight was a good shout too, it was sickening the amount of waste shown. Do you remember that show he did where he was invited to peoples parties and that woman had her placenta made into a pate' and they all ate it..!!
