  1. Couldn't agree more Stiffy, i'm gonna be in the market soon and the thought of £200+ sickens me... I put my bro on to Altberg's for his hill walking as he's a label slave and he loved the thought of made to measure... Me i just wreck em so i really had a look at the Karrimor in S.D. Bloody hell! Some cracking boots there for the money and thats where i'm going next.
  2. Real sorry to hear that Brickie mate. Dont take too long getting back in the saddle though.
  3. Get geared up an get a dog in it, fortune favours the brave... But dont harm that tree or its carving, thats history right there and if your sucessful just add a dated note underneith the original...
  4. I had my first child as most of my school mates became grandparents! To be honest i'm really happy about that, for me it's the right time in my life, i have no regrets, only the knowlage and expierence to try to do the very best by my daughter. Life's good, i'm relishing everyday as a parent. On the downside, maybe i'll never get to see my Grandchildren but thats not something i worry about, my job is to ensure my daughter becomes a happy, healthy, well rounded individual and lives the life she wants and if that goes to plan I know my Mrs is gonna be a very proud Grandmother.
  5. I hope her indoors is gonna be ok Ray, best wishes.
  6. Oh brother i'd fecking love that bike but for me it screams mid life crisis...!
  7. I know all too well how ya feel Tomo and usually i feel the same but i've just ran through your numbers and by my calculations i'm a year older than you! So thank you, you've just made an old man feel much better about himself...lol
  8. If he did AT I cant remember him saying, though he was with me that first night we seen it and it became a mission for over a year...!
  9. I bet that was on the wirral ladies golf course then back in the day, spent a while checking earths and gardens in the 80's then 1 night we were lamping and spotted it, slipped the dog and it was being shagged by a red f*cker, my dog took the red off its back and she slipped away, Jimmy on your side offered us 100 dead or 200 alive, never did get her, WMYer WM, it was the 80's but not on the golfy, on those scrubby horse fields by the motorway. We thought it was a white cat when it first came in to the squeek, it was only as it got closer we realised it was a fox. I think i couldn't believe my
  10. You know when your getting old when back in the day you could bend an iron bar over a raging hard-on... But cant do it now cause your wrists have gone...!
  11. Fish has just toured that album again and i bloody missed it this time round. Script For A Jesters Tear was far better IMO.
  12. Me, i'd find out all you can about the native breeds and give one of them a go. Them Galgos would be my choice.
  13. Takes a good dog man to see a quirk in a youngster and exploit it to it's full potential. Cracking stuff Mik.
  14. I've simply got to take my hat off to anyone that can craft sommat like that. As for buying 'off the peg', well if you are like me you'd have to but the satisfaction of making and using a tool day in day out must be very rewarding. I see it no different than the knife makers on here, you can go buy any type and shape but to have one crafted is different... Keep the thred going lads, maybe share ideas etc and produce quality bespoke tools built with pride...
  15. So you've finally got what you wanted, you've achieved your aim by making the walking lame...

Life has a habit of kicking you in the teeth....

  16. Gnipper/ Tozer, the Formby dunes were decimated by RVHD. Mixi has always been about but never really made any difference to numbers. I remember about 25 years ago over on Cabin Hill, near the rifle range, the rangers (propper back then!) were shooting a couple of hundred a night (as well as us lamping it!) for a couple of weeks and gave up, telling me that they felt like they hardly made a dent in the population! Then boom, almost overnight they vanished, never to recover and those exciting nights with big numbers were gone...! Same with the small pockets all round here, all are on a constan
  17. Before i went down to look at them, i thought those statues were a load of 'ol shite. So i picked a real early summer morning and went down there, gotta say there was sommat about em i really liked. We, as a family go quite regular now and i really appreciate the statues and see them for what they are in the place they are in... So don't be a philistine Tomo and get over here for a look... I'll put the kettle on.
  18. No rabbits left on Formby anyway, between desiese and the 'improvement' (sterilisation!) of the land, where you once could take fifty, you'd be lucky to get five. Nice pics Flipbull.
  19. Yep, take any flappy bits off, let em re-grow and be real mindful of where you free excercise for a few months till all good.
  20. Of all the women i'd love to gaze and talk to she's got to be tops. Lets be honest if you had Marilyn round the table you dont need JFK or most of the Hollywood greats, its all there, in one conversation and lets be honest, it'd be bloody tough getting all that info when we'd really all be getting lost in her looks... The only other i'd add would be Elvis...
  21. Stan Laurel Oliver Hardy Marilyn Monroe Oliver Reid Keith Moon John Wayne Billy Connolly Dixie Dean Ted Walsh Phil Drabble Jack Hargrieves My Dad Phew...quick edit there as i'd left out The Duke..!!
