Dunno much about realtree patterns, the Yanks are bang into it. Most of em work well in the field (and not so good on the street!). I'd be more concerned with the brand and quality, because most realtree gear is cheap shite. -
Yep, all thin coated dogs feel it in harsh cold weather. Get the right type of whippet and, like as been said, it'll graft through the worst British weather but it'll still look a sorry state whilst doing nothing. Weather can change but it's a callus type of bloke that knows his thin skinned dog is gonna have to endure hours stood still in sub-zero winds and worse. And graft like that will effect the dogs ability on the day. If you know you can keep em moving with enough to go at, in bad weather, then the coat matters not.

The fact of the matter is this... Some folk like pushing the boundries, testing their dogs, on any quarry, to the max. It's a tough game for both man and dog and ain't for the faint hearted... So let them that do, keep on doing and the rest of us can be content with our little lot...!

If your dogs look well on it, you can afford it, it's in easy supply and you suppliment it often (because if your doin a fair bit, it ain't enough)... Then feck the cribbers and feed it!

Only that i've seen (and known) of a few that have come real croppers over the years. Those big rangy dogs dont 'usually' bounce too well and can struggle with obsticles with that long strided gallop. Lot's of exceptions to this though, TimmyK has a great bitch out of a big Deerhoundy dog (that broke it's neck!) and this bitch is 'the' most agile, suicidal big dog i've ever seen run. I predict her doom every time i see her out and she's about 7 now..! Like as been said, no definitive answer on this one. But like JD, i like and will only keep 'do or diers' and i'll take the heartache that comes with em. Though with this attitude dogs can either be lucky or have a certain sommat that can see em almost injury free, whilst dogs of near identical breeding and style are perminant wrecks. I wish i knew what makes the difference but i guess thats the million dollar answer. If someone asked me to name a hardy type, i'd probably say 'good' pastoral blooded dogs (beardy especially) and saluki bloods too. Bull bloods are a mixed bag and the good on

The 'debait' on Jeremy Vine's show on R2 was the worst i've ever heard. Some bint from Aussie PETA and Johnno Coalman(the little fat bloke who did a bit of radio an tv over here at one point!) Then some loon Christian jock woman! Not one mentioned the predation on the fragile native species.... I lost it at that point and switched off for fear of self harm..!!

Fly tipping is the bain of our lives in this village. It's an almost daily occurence in the lanes that surround us. Not a week goes by without me in the ditches pulling out the shite. Everything from house clearances to crops of green. The council will, if forced, take only whats on the tarmac, so the ditches and verges get left by them, so my job is to get everything on the road so its not left. What causes the problem... Your abroad, so let a Spaniard snatch him, lock him on a celler and beat him at least daily. Then, after a few weeks, give him back. He'll get a hatred for em an let you know when ones close.
