    Akita

My great uncle went to sea and on his Chinese trips he witnessed Chow Chows in action. Said he seen them make messes of good dogs when all the other dog got was a gob full of fur... He said they were tough buggers and as a kid would slate my love of bull terriers (any!) trying to piss me off with his Chinese Chow tales.

Shroom, mate of mine had a Rottie called Rommell and that was some animal and a fantastic guard. The only Rottie i've ever liked. Mr1 off here had a couple of Akita's as guards years ago. The huge dog was 'the' most orrible dog i've ever encountered and it was/is the only dog that genuinely scared me.
  3. As Pablo said, Wolfy used to make some bloody good spades, some off here may have bought one, he had an ad in edrd years back. Shame he dont do em now as they would have gone down well on here! I better stop blowing his trumpet now, he usually turns up here Friday nights lol.
  4. Had that happen to me also. It was the last rabbit that fox ran though..!
  5. Good to hear she is ok, as said, could have been a damn sight worse. Just one thing bothering me though.... Why the feck did you call the poor dog Fergie ffs..!!!
  6. Can't believe you didn't want to be like the rest of your scally contemporary's.....grafting laaaa...lol Do you think i left Anny (Anfield) Comp and settled for that YOP scheme Tomo...
  7. I remember goin in to see the career master with no idea what i wanted to do ir be. Until that moment that thought had never entered my tiny mind. I didn't even know what to say to him! Up until that point my life was ine big easy laugh, i loved school, it was one big naughty giggle and didnt give a flying feck about anything beyond that. I remember the other kids all shitting themselves, wanting an apprenticeship rather than facing the dreded YOP scheem at fifteen quid a week! As much as i knew i was never going to get on a YOP, i had'nt the foggiest about apprenticships, all them other ki
  8. What you lot need is a feckin tractor..!
  9. He does, it was him i seen at Crufts... "How hath the mighty fallen..."
  10. Belgian hares are just a fancy breed of rabbit. Bred to look like hares.
  11. Darbo you've just reminded me of something i'd almost forgotten! My dad and his family were evacuies in Ludlow during the war and lived on a farm. He told us of the greyhound that came back with them to live in the city when the family returned. It lived here as it lived there and roamed free but it was killed soon after. I asked him what they used it for in Ludlow an he gave me a daft look and said they used it for rabbits an hares. I asked was it a lurcher and maybe they called it a greyhound but he said no, it was a pure bred and many people used em back then, lurchers were gypsy dogs. I
  12. I've known of a few decent greyhounds in the field but not seen nothing i'd own. Seen a few ex racers meet their end by lads who thought they could run em like a lurcher but if they are raised like a lurcher it should greaten the survival rate!
  13. It's just the usual love/hate relationship with England for me. Though i curse their overblown hype, management and the FA. They are my country and i can't switch off. I curse and tell myself thats it but it never is and to draw me in to these qualifiers even more, young Ross is playing so well and Jag's got the arm band... Great stuff...!!
  14. Are they photoshopped to look better..??
  15. I think over here most of them are the fiberglass Bulldogs.
  16. It should be racy enough but i wonder, if it is a F1 cross, would the different running styles compliment each other, or bring out the worst in both..?

    More Pinks

Feckin hundreds over here at the min too.
  18. For under a ton you should be able to find a couple of fiberglass Bulldogs, they dont have to be new. Get em to a fabricator and put treds on em to save your boots, 6" nails are good. Then get him to cut a 3" V back from the point on one of em for goin through roots. You should get years of good service out of both and if you have any handle problems get a made to measure metal one put on.
  19. Sounds interesting, they should make tough, knock about dogs. I'd agree that they wouldnt be the fastest of lurchers but i'd bet they make up for it with other jobs! If i was gonna use sommat like an airdale i'd go with a coursing type. They seem to thin out the heaviest of dogs.
  20. I've owned two, years back and they were ok, tbh one was very good. Though niether came directly off him but both were from his kennels. Would i go to Hancock for a collie bred pup...? Well a few years back i may have said yes, only to get 'exactly' what you want. Now i would say no, deffinatley not. There are so many more collie blooded dogs out there now, from worked parents and far cheaper. I'd also agree with Tomo, Darcy and Omayana and would question why only collie in the mix?
  21. It does now Ben... if you want more interest in your posts always take the time to get the title right.
