I think the only way things will change is with the athletes themselves. It's them that need to embrace testing and show and shout to the world they are clean. Right now its seen as a hindrance and an intrusion but as soon as they get on with it the better. With interviews going like "Yer i came third but i've met every test put in front of me, i'm clean, wanna test me again, feel free..!" Where's the pressure and focus with that, right with first and second thats where! Making sport clean can ONLY come from the athletes...

I would say the same qualities as a Beddy cross but with better drive, coat and feet.

Probably only one or two lads i'd ever lend a dog to but i'd be very surprised if they'd ever ask anyway! Bit different if you ask a friend to give a dog an opportunity your not able to, at that particular time, or maybe just keep the kettle boiling if work stops play. Either way, they are doing you a favour, not the other way round. Most importantly, if your dog is out with someone else then you must trust them completley to act as you would, in the best interest of the dog and within that know absofuckinglutely, that if anything happened to that dog, then tough titty, hunting is a dange

Sorry but it was all 'too Manc' for a Scouser back then. Even though i've always loved Joy Division and subsiquently New Order, the Fall too but though i thought the Roses's were a class act it was all too... Well Manc! The Smiths had me with TCM (still one of my desert island discs) and anything by the Mondays or BG are twisting my melon man but... Nowt wrong with that if thats your turf and time but... Now these days i aint into any sort of guns but as a kid I used to love pistols, from the days where we shot the beJesus out of ourselves with Gat's (darts were so shite!) to the old Diana pistol i loved and then the 'Webley massive'... Tempest and through... I was a little bellend with air pistols, i hope those that have em now have more sense than me..!!

Dotty your dead right where GM is concerned. In all the years i knew him, he was always trying to help others and gave as much as he sold... Just reading back on this thred... Funny what people think is a Lakey, as with other breeds. Me, i've been around long enough to only see; Lakies as only black n tans. Blacks as simply 'Blacks' or Patterdales. ANY white dogs are Russells but feck all of that Parson or White Lakie bollox! Any mixed type, including reds and chocolates, no matter what coat type as Fell type terriers... Now thats gonna piss plenty off but thats it in a nutshell and

Too true Darbo, too true BUT one of the reasons the Bedlington has been so popular is that writers all hailed them as 'mute' and maybe many are, though the couple i've seen underground sung like canaries! In my experience i've seen some lines of black dog almost silent, with only grunts and snorts when hard at quarry. From what i gather, there are enough other breeds in todays Bedlington to make me think that big black dogs could be every bit as good but like i said earlier, do your homework and choose your terrier blood wisely..!!!

Had a couple of conversations with Moorside about this cross. I'd always plump for a greyhound when crossing a terrier but more importantly choose your Patterdale well. There are lines of good straight fronted, hard jacketed, leggy ones out there if you look enough and it'd only be that type i'd use.
