  1. My dogs all have the same name, i call them fit to burn..! Bosun, Fawn, Buck, Diesel, Todd, Sid, Tess, Jake, Bella, Ox and now Ike. All names i've given my dogs, no ryme or reason, other than i either liked the name, or it suited the dog. Names for the future, Ethel, Betty, Moth, Alf, Reg, Wilf and Yozzer but it depends on if it suits or what i'm feeling...
  2. I have about a dozen walnut trees on the go waiting to be big enough to plant, have been planting a few round the farm for probably close to 30 years, along with Apple, pear, plum, cherry, also been doing the obligatory ash and oak, just keep putting them in hedgerows, corners of fields, edges of spinneys and round the ponds, I love trees and feel the need to replace some of what we have taken over the years. Some of them are looking good, and it really changes the skyline having a few mature trees about the place, not to mention the benefits for the wildlife and associated shooting. Fantas
  3. I can get the damson but the walnut I'd have to pay for I'd happily pay for both if you could point me in the right direction mate.
  4. I need a walnut tree sapling to put in local round here. Put in a few apple and pear trees now, want a damson and a walnut next. Just plant em in the corners of hedgerows, or on the edges of woods, the little specks that never get touched and in a few years, every walk will yeald something nice and not just for me but my daughter and future generations.
  5. Spot on RH... If you wanna smash down on a banjo week in week out then make damn sure the sole can take it. All them 'they feel like trainers' shite wont last the season. Out of the most used makes, i'd go for the Glockner every time.

  7. Great read and makes perfect sense to me. Done just about the same with the dog i've got now and he's totally wed to me and the family and is practically bomb proof.
  8. Good write-up. I wouldn't be so gutted about misses, each and everyone is a learning curve and, lets be honest, misses are part and parcel of the game, she's never gonna catch everything..! That said, sounds like you and your dog are keen as mustard, crack on, you'll be a winning team. Keep us posted.
  9. Whilst your trying to land some permo, have a walk round the shrubberies of your local MackyD's late at night and you'll probably drop on a few.
  10. Nice lump of a pup that Ken. Real nice.
  11. Don't think i've ever seen a 3/4 anything that i'd own. That's genuine 3/4, as i've seen a few dogs with more greyhound than that which i'd own. I'm sure there are some that are great dogs but just not for me.

As much as the FA are choking on their caviar right now, i dont think he'll go. I'd be very surprised if they, like England, have any plan B...
  14. Keep to the subject please Gentlemen, debate not slate...
  15. Some great informative posts there Phil..
  16. Socks i had wild hob, 20 years ago. Was the devil to get right but i did it... eventually, though he was usless as a worker. Bred me and a few mates some fantastic kits though but not handle them for a day or so and they were as wild as daddy. Fantastic grafters though. Thing is, that hob you got there is a cracker, in fine fettle. Dont matter who gets him, to be caged up would be a damn shame IMO. Let wild things be wild, find a speck for him and let him go...

  18. I think we should stick to talking about Gordon on this thred, and go back to Brian's to talk about him...
  19. They should be handly animals.. Location please mate.
  20. In my humble opinion I think there is no problem talking on a public forum about anyone who puts themselves firmly in the public eye. Brian Nuttall has, like many others, put himself in this position by courting notoriety (or fame if you want to go that far) by breeding and selling working terriers on a large scale and in that, he has put himself up for the publicity that goes with it. One will always follow the other.... And Brian, though forever the gentleman, knows well enough his impact on the modern working terrier, knows how his blacks have funded a very nice lifestyle and knows how doi
  21. Lovely pups Tud, heard plenty about Nicky's dog, they will be belters, i'm sure. Best of luck with em.
